The absolute best wedding DJ experience I could ask for! DJ Hecktik was a great communicator and perfectly executed from ceremony, to cocktail hour , and through keeping did an amazing job of keeping our dance floor on fire. The music he played met all of our guests needs regardless of age and music preference. We received a ton of compliments on how much fun our wedding was and that they LOVED the music and DJ. Thank you DJ Hecktik for making our wedding dreams come true!

DJ Hecktik, Josh, was a pleasure to work with! There are 2 types of wedding DJs that you will find out there: 1. Your standard, cheesy, older DJ who pushes stop and start on songs and plays only songs like "Celebration." 2. An experienced legitimate DJ who knows how to mix between songs smoothly and who plays new up-to-date music, along with the classics (DJ Hecktik). BE CLASSY AND PICK #2! Josh was very professional, arrived several hours early to set up, and adapted to last minute changes and announcements. If he was ever busy, then I was able to run things by his assistant/co-worker. He played many of my requested songs and also added in his own flavor too! I highly recommend!!!

DJ Hecktic was amazing to work with for our wedding! If you want someone who can play any number of genres for your wedding or party, and do it with style and grace then this is your DJ! I was overwhelmed with the wedding process to say the least but Josh was so patient with me and was able to play all of the songs I selected at just the right moment of his choosing- I had no plan but for the father daughter dance and bride and groom- but leaving the professional to figure out the rest was the right choice because everything else turned out amazing, acoustic music during dinner/cocktail hour with a smooth transition into the dance party! Josh made our day so special by setting the right mood for each and every special moment and we are so grateful to him for that!!!!

I met Josh, DJ Hecktik, at the bridal salon I bought my dress from. He was so nice and easy to talk to from day 1. I've been to weddings and local events where he's been the DJ before and always found myself on the dance floor. From the moment my husband and I boogied our way into the reception to the last dance, we had such a blast dancing the night away. Family members that aren't big dancers found themselves on the dance floor because he played their favorite song. If you are looking for the absolute best, you don’t need to look any further! Josh is the absolute best DJ & MC I have ever worked with. He keeps the party going & everyone on the dance floor the entire night! On top of this Josh is the most professional & organized DJ you could ever work with. He always goes above & beyond to make sure that everything runs smooth on the wedding day-even when it doesn’t directly relate to his services. He is the biggest team player I have ever met & will do everything in his power to make your wedding the best night ever! I could go on and on about Josh, his team & how amazing they are!

I came across DJ hecktik on yelp as i was searching for a Dj for my wedding. I contacted him because he had 50 5-star reviews and they all could not have been more spot on with the service we received from him. My husband and I cannot say enough good things. Our wedding would not have been the same without him. Great MC and a great DJ. I HIGHLY recommended him. He is worth every penny. I got so many compliments from all of my guests about how good he was. The dance floor was packed all night until the very last song.

Stop looking for a DJ and hire Hecktik! DJ Hecktik (Josh) kept our wedding going from beginning to end. His website made it easy to incorporate the songs we did and didn’t want to have playing on the dance floor. He took the time to meet with us ahead of time to understand the vibe we were going for and made sure to incorporate all of these aspects into our big day. His crew was professional, timely and made for a great event. Our dance floor was full the entire night! People kept saying our wedding had the best music and kept dancing until we were forced to leave.

Excellent DJ with amazing skills. Skilled, professional, on time, great price, and so much fun! Josh was the perfect choice for our wedding. Not only did I love his DJ style and music, but he somehow got everyone in my wedding to get up and dance, despite our family’s diverse music preferences. I highly suggest listening to his music on his sound cloud since he DJs professionally for Santa Barbara radio. Finally, he made our reception room look amazing with his optional lighting that he customized using our wedding colors. His work speaks for itself but I highly recommend DJ Hecktik for any event. We discovered DJ Hecktik/Josh at a friend's wedding in Santa Barbara and had such a great time at their wedding with him DJ-ing that we hired him to do our wedding in San Francisco. Quite possibly the best idea we ever had. He reads the crowd incredibly well, keeping the party going, but it wasn't tacky or overwhelmingly loud for the older guests. He worked with us on making a custom mix for our first dance and our Moms to do a dance with them. He is the most professional MC that I have ever heard, he is extremely well spoken and our guests haven't stopped raving about him either. Thank you Josh you helped make our day truly unforgettable!

My husband Matt and I got married on 12/2/2017 and we could not have asked for a better DJ then DJ Hecktik/Josh. In planning a wedding, it really helps lower the stress and anxiety when you know that your vendors are experienced, know what they're doing, and great people--that feeling of trust is EVERYTHING. Josh is not only a professional you can trust, he went above and beyond everything we imagined. Josh responded to our inquiry quickly and any questions we had afterwards in an extremely timely manner (whew! no bridezilla here!). His website was super easy to use to make our song choices for every wedding day related activity (who knew there were so many?!?). Josh went out of his way to meet me at our reception venue, to go over set up and any concerns the venue had about sound and worked out details with them. During that meeting, Josh and I also sat down and talked about what we liked as far as music goes, what our crowd was going to be like, etc. Josh even attended our rehearsal to better prepare for the next day. On our wedding day, Josh was at our ceremony site early, was set up before the ceremony started and did an amazing job. At the reception, he was an EXCELLENT MC (even reading out something I wrote about Chinese Tea Ceremonies--which he knew nothing about). He and his team had music playing all night--cocktails, dinner, speeches, and of course dancing! He had EVERYONE dancing. I mean EVERYONE. 80 year-olds to 2 year-olds. He played a little something for everyone, played some classics, played some newer songs. Josh even got one of my uncles, whom I've only ever seen smile maybe once in my entire 32 years of life on this earth, to get up and dance.... and BOY DID HE DANCE. Shocking. But that's a testament to Josh. Josh knows what he's doing and he has a passion for it. You just have to let him guide you through the process and trust him. All in all, not only is he a great DJ and MC, he's a great person, with a kind and humble heart. Every time we have run into him around town after our wedding, he thanks us for choosing him and trusting him with our wedding! ARE YOU KIDDING ME, DUDE?!?!? THANK YOU, JOSH, for making our day one of the best days/nights we've ever had! If you're still on the fence, even after reading all of his positive reviews... BOOK HIM--you will definitely not regret it.

DJ Hecktik was FANTASTIC. He was incredibly professional and turned our wedding into an epic dance party that we never wanted to end. He went above and beyond to make sure that we didn't have to worry about anything that day. We were able to reach out to him during the entire planning process and he was so quick to respond! If you are in the Santa Barbara area and don't decide to hire DJ Hecktik, you're making a big mistake! We were SO happy with his work and wish we could go back for dance party round 2!!

Stop your search for a DJ and hire DJ Hecktik (Josh). He performed for our wedding in Santa Barbara at Bacara Resort in Feb 2016 and I honestly don't have enough words to describe how incredible he is. The dance floor was never even close to being empty. I've never seen a DJ that works so hard throughout the entire night to understand and feel the crowd until the very last song. He knew exactly what style kept people on the dance floor, what songs to play that kept the party rolling, and he stuck to what worked. At some weddings (a lot of weddings) there are those "awkward" moments of silence where people just walk off the dance floor when a new song is played. Not at our wedding! Although we discussed our style of music and had a couple "must play these songs" before the wedding, there was no preset "playlist". His mixes were effortless and energetic, representative of our style, and his transitions between songs were perfect, creative, tight, and seamless. One particular quick mix "Teach me How To Dougie mixed with Ice Cream Paint Job" brought the place down, and he even made a custom mix for the Bridal Party entrance! Everyone at our party wanted to know where we found him. He knows so many styles of music and can incorporate whatever you want or need. One of my friends is a notorious wall supporter, he just doesn't like to dance. At our wedding he closed the dance floor down. He even commented that he "doesn't dance", but just felt it that night. Thanks to DJ Hecktik! I agree with the other posts that Josh is also such a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process leading up to the "big night". He was always responsive and available for calls. His personality is so friendly (he met up with us a couple days before the wedding just to grab a drink and meet us in person, although everything was already done). And, he was setup and ready to go HOURS before the actual event. Thank you Josh for making our wedding night so much fun for us and our guests!
