oor portion of the night was very disappointing. Music was extremely important to us, which is why we spent a great deal of time curating a playlist with the 2010s club and throwback vibe we wanted. However, several songs from our do-not-play list were played, and it did not feel as though our requested music or overall vision was being followed. At one point, slower, older love songs were played while no one was on the dance floor, which we felt contributed to guests leaving it. Requests were also taken that did not fit the vibe we were hoping for based on our playlist. What was especially frustrating was that members of our bridal party spoke with the DJ during the reception and explained that we were disappointed with the music and that important announcements were not being made. Unfortunately, we did not see much of a change afterward. There were also several issues with the timeline and announcements. We had specifically requested announcements asking guests not to pull us off the dance floor and encouraging them to Irish goodbye rather than saying goodbye to us throughout the night. These announcements were not made, and we ended up being interrupted and pulled away from the dance floor quite a bit. The bouquet toss was also not announced until we reminded him, well after its scheduled time. In addition, we asked for an announcement for a guest at each table to take a centerpiece, and we had to remind the DJ about it toward the very end of the night, when most guests had already left. These details were clearly outlined in our timeline, including the approximate times for certain announcements, so it was frustrating to feel that they were overlooked. There were also some equipment issues throughout the night. The last song of the night was also disappointing. The DJ introduced it as one of his personal favorites and played a slow country song that we had never heard before. We did not have any country music on our playlist, and it was not the type of song we had envisioned ending the night with. We still had an amazing wedding overall and tried to make the best of everything in the moment, but looking back, we are genuinely sad that the music and announcements did not go as smoothly as we had hoped. Music was one of the things we cared most about, and we put a great deal of time into creating a playlist and communicating a clear vision for the night, as outlined in our previous meeting with DJ Jo-El. Unfortunately, we do not feel that vision was followed. We do want to acknowledge that his wife was wonderful and that we really enjoyed the Photo Booth. However, based on our overall experience with the DJ portion of the night, we left feeling very disappointed.
