For John Salinas, a great wedding is not about simply pressing play. It is about reading the room, creating the right moments and giving each couple a celebration that genuinely feels like them.
John began his professional DJ career in 2006. After years of performing for multi-operator entertainment companies, he launched DJ JT LLC in 2022 to provide couples with a more personal and customized experience. Today, he brings 20 years of experience and more than 1,000 weddings and events to every celebration.
John’s open-format style is built around one simple philosophy: the best playlist is the one that works for the people in the room.
From packed dance floors fueled by 90s and 2000s favorites to current hits, rock, country, hip-hop, R&B, dance music and timeless sing-alongs, John builds every reception around the couple and their guests—not a predetermined playlist.
He also works closely with couples to develop the flow of their celebration, from ceremony and cocktail hour through introductions, formalities and the final song. His MC style is polished and confident without being overbearing or making the reception about himself.
John especially enjoys working with couples who want something elevated without feeling stuffy—and a dance floor that feels more like the best party they have ever attended than a traditional wedding reception.
