Run don’t walk to hire DJ Matty Mo!! When planning our wedding, music was the number one most important thing for us. We searched high and low for a NY DJ but no one felt right. We had attended a wedding a few years earlier where Matty brought the house down so we ended up flying him in from Salt Lake and it was the best decision we ever made. He is super knowledgeable, easy to work with, and kept our dance floor packed all night. We heard from guests all night that our wedding had the best music and best dance party they had ever experience. I cannot recommend DJ Matty Mo highly enough. Fair warning, you will want to be be his best friend!! Trust me, hire Matty Mo if you want the best dance party of your life!
If you want a smooth wedding, with amazing music.. DJ Matty Mo is the one! We spoke a week prior to the wedding via video chat, and went over all the specifics. Truly feel like we chose the best DJ possible!
Matty Mo was exceptional. He was the DJ for our wedding; from the first meeting he was very easy to work with, and knew what he was doing. We gave him some general ideas of what we wanted for the reception, and he created an entire flow for the evening that kept people dancing the whole night. We got tons of positive feedback about the dance party. I would happily work with him again and recommend him to anyone who needs a DJ.
First, let me just DJ Matty Mo (also known as Matty Moriarty) is a phenomenal DJ and equally phenomenal human. If you don't read this whole thing...
TL:DR; he is worth every penny and will make your event next-level excellent.
We connected with Matty Mo through another preferred vendor of our wedding site (Snowbird Ski Resort), which was our photographer (Austen Diamond Photography, also amazing).
We were wildly lucky, as our October date is very late in the wedding season, and Matty was still open on that date as luck would have it. We got a chance to meet with him over Zoom, and knew immediately we had to work with him. He was kind, curious, infectiously positive, and just a "great vibes" type of person, but also really meticulous about his craft. I could tell as a fellow musician and creator he had a very thorough process, and it was clear he is very passionate about what he does (but also about curating a great experience for us as a couple).
From the jump, he was also very clear in communication, transparent in expectations, and collaborative on making our day awesome. This made it so easy for us!
To boot, 3 months ahead of our wedding, we were going to be in town (we are from out-of-state), and Matty Mo invited us to see him spin at a club called Lake Effect in downtown SLC. Besides the fact the venue is super cool, we got to see him throw it down in person before our actual wedding and man this guy can rip. We only planned to stay for like a half hour, but an hour-and-a-half later we could barely force ourselves off the dance floor because Matty was ripping and mixing absolute banger after banger seamlessly. He was SO MUCH FUN to see spin, and we knew without shadow of a doubt our reception was going to be insane. The man is stupidly talented, and it's so freaking neat to see. What a treat!
When it came time to planning the actual wedding, he was very thorough in his process, his pre-questionnaire, etc. to help get a clear vision of our day and our needs. He provided previous responses from other clients to help give us guidance to help us think through things like our ceremony, our cocktail hour, our dinner time, our reception, etc. and it made it so much easier to get that guidance and support.
Ultimately, we felt empowered to give him a core list of hopes and dreams (and musical selections), and he just knocked it all out of the park. From hand-creating a special instrumental version of a song we loved and could walk down the aisle to, to creating a really fun celebratory vibe that never dropped once throughout the night, Matty absolutely crushed it for our wedding and reception.
Numerous people came up to us throughout the night and after to say how incredible our DJ was, and how awesome he kept the room's energy going. He even had the master stroke of an idea to offer glow sticks for the dance floor, and while I was unsure what to expect, these were an absolute SMASH with our guests. They had so much, and it only elevated the experience to another level.
We were absolutely elated with his work, and we cannot say enough positive things about Matty Mo. He is truly a master of a craft, and we cannot over-recommend him.

I cannot recommend Matty enough. He played at another friends wedding and was SO good we canceled our other DJ for him and it was 100% worth it. I have never seen a more packed dance floor.
He was so professional and knew how to emcee the cocktail hour, ceremony and rehearsal. He has great packages that can accommodate all types of events and add ons that help save costs by not having to get another vendor.
We wanted club music with a packed dance floor and he understood the assignment. I know weddings and vendors are expensive but if having a fun dance floor is on the top of your list, he’s worth every penny.
Matty is the man! He was open to our ideas and non-traditional playlists, music ques and moments. He worked with us to curate the best of our vision and made our special day complete with the most amazing soundtrack. All our friends have the playlist favored on all platforms and use at all the parties!
Hiring DJ Matty Mo was hands down the best decision we made in our wedding planning. He took our wedding from a nice evening in the mountains to an unforgettable dance party. Matty met with us prior to review our music preferences and then curated an incredible mix that kept friends and family on the dance floor until we were forced to shut it down. My 97-year-old grandma was dancing, cousins were dance battling and friends were ripping off their shirts. DJ Matty Mo is the best!
DJ Matty Mo was AMAZING!!! We had so much fun dancing at the reception! I told him we basically wanted a 90's/2000's hip hop party during the reception and he made it happen 100%! He had great suggestions for songs that I wasn't sure about for the ceremony and did a wonderful job announcing what what up next in the order of events. I'd highly suggest DJ Matty Mo. He was so easy to work with and very organized to make sure he had everything he needed for things to run smoothly!

We had such a blast on our wedding night thanks to Matty! I could not recommend him highly enough for everything he did for us. We were looking for a DJ that could help us throw a “non-traditional” wedding rager, and a rager is what we got! He was so receptive to our requests and I have no doubt he could help you with whatever vibe you’re going for. He obviously has a ton of experience and has a true gift for reading the crowd to keep the party going. If an excellent DJ is a priority for your wedding, look no further, you’ve found your guy!

DJ Matty is awesome from the beginning stages of selecting a package that suites your needs to the day of! He is super responsive and great to work with! Our wedding was so fun we all danced from the start of the music to the end! Would definitely recommend him to any couple or event looking for a DJ. Our event was at the Stein Lodge, Matty was early and worked seamlessly with our other vendors he hadn’t met before. Over all he is super fun, professional, and stylish! Plus his DJ equipment that he owns NOT rents is so modern. We would have regretted booking anyone else!

DJ Matty Mo is not only an insanely talented DJ but also a true professional. Good music (that steered clear of cliche wedding music) was one of the biggest priorities for our wedding, and Matty delivered in spades. He had all our guests, young and old, dancing through the night, and everyone raved about how he was “the best wedding DJ they’d ever heard.” One of our guest sheepishly told us he ran back to the dance floor from the bathroom because he didn’t want to miss a second of the party.
Beyond delivering on the DJ front, Matty was so easy to work with, taking time to set up calls with us to talk through our music likes/dislikes, and covering so many things behind the scenes with our venue coordinator. We had a bit of a weather scare the day-of, and he took it in stride, and made sure we weren’t stressed. Hire this man and you are guaranteed a party to remember.

We could not have asked for a more perfect night! DJ Matty Mo was outstanding. Our guests never left the dance floor! I’m not a huge dancer myself and I felt confident to stay out there and have fun because of the atmosphere that he created. He followed all of our ceremony requests perfectly, and we have him free rein for the cocktail hour and reception! We received endless compliments.
For our processional, I had chosen a song that was too short for everyone to walk out to (I should’ve timed things a lot better). As I waited by myself in the dressing room praying that everyone would walk down quick enough, the song reached an end. Before even a second of it being over, he seamlessly started playing different parts of the song to make it last long enough. You would not have been able to tell that this hadn’t been planned from the start! No one was able to tell that the song has ended before it was supposed to.

Our wedding was everything I dreamed of, and huge part of this is because DJ Matty Mo. He made everything flow so nicely. We had Matty from our ceremony until the end of our reception. He did a fantastic job with the music during the ceremony, and even did something he had never done before because we asked him too! We asked Matty to play a song (that we picked) during our vows, and it was beautiful, it was just in the background, very light but perfect and added so much to the moment. He even customized and edited our first dance song and sent over the edit before the wedding for us to approve. He seriously made the night amazing. He is great when it comes to announcing and getting your guests where you need them to be, he did introductions for our toasts and helped the wedding stay on schedule, he even stood out in the cold up in the mountains because I wanted our dance floor outside and it was like 35 degrees (thank you for freezing for me lol). And All I wanted was a huge dance party on my wedding day, and I was worried with a dry wedding that people wouldn't dance, well everyone danced and had so much fun, it was supposed to end at 10 but ended up going until 11 because no one wanted to stop dancing. Seriously, I cant thank Matty enough for being a HUGE part of our day and making it perfect. I would hire Matty over and over and over again and recommend him to everyone.
DJ Matty Mo was so amazing to work with! Before the wedding, he was very organized and helped give us a jumpstart into what songs we wanted played and when. And then during the actual wedding, he did exactly what we wanted and was so flexible! He did an awesome job announcing to everyone the plan for the night. I don't usually do reviews but DJ Matty Mo truly deserves this one.
For a wedding or any event, music is pretty much what gives you and your guests the full experience and Matty understands that and delivers the best at a high professional level. He's a celeb DJ for a reason.
Communication:
Communicating with him was a breeze through the entire process of wedding planning and during the wedding. He was quick when questions came up. Last minute changes were no problem at all for him.
Music:
Not only is he an Open-Format DJ, he is well knowledged on all types of music. From country, Latino, dancehall, R&B, HipHop, EDM, 70s, 80s, etc... You name it, he can do it ALL so customizing your theme of music is easy for your wedding.
His DJ technical skills are on point. Seriously, look him up on YouTube.
He knows how to read the guests on the dancefloor and keeps everyone there. For my wedding, he had us dancing for 4 hours and the dancefloor was full the entire time! The energy level was always high and is perfect for whenever it was appropriate. He played the right music for the pre-ceremony, ceremony, cocktail-hour, reception, dancing, and exit just as requested. He knows how to make your wedding the best day of your life.
Presentation:
Matty is the whole package of music, lighting, sound systems and MCing. He is super confident in MCing and understands the importance of timing and flow of transitions of events in the agenda. There was never an awkward moment.
I would recommend booking him with his lighting package as it is perfect for dancing and entertainment yet classy at the same time for the wedding ceremony. The equipment he used were top notch in quality sound and lighting. Inside, outside, or both; he's got you covered.
Professional:
He is very respectful and you can tell he's very experienced once you first talk to him. His professional experience shows through his performance. He's the real deal and has great charisma. He handles song requests professionally and he even professionally handles drunk guests coming up to him (there's always that drunk aunt/uncle). He respects your time and budget. He works very well with other vendors within the wedding and keeps great communication with them as well. We hired his service from 2pm-10pm and he was there early and was one of the last to leave.
Final thought:
There are boring cheesy DJs, okay DJs, and fun DJs. DJ Matty Mo is on a whole other level.
Book him before someone else does.
After postponing our wedding and having to find a new DJ in a few short months, we were lucky enough to find out that DJ Matty was available on our date. There was one non-negotiable I had for my wedding—I wanted a dance party... and that’s exactly what we got! DJ Matty absolutely killed it!! Everyone was dancing, including our parents! We had so much fun we requested he stayed an extra hour to keep the party going! Communication was great leading up and he sent plenty of song recommendations when we were stuck. HIRE HIM.
Matty is a true professional. He is very responsive, is fair, and helped us adapt our music as we changed our wedding plans several times through 2020. He is a great MC, and helped respectfully and efficiently guide our slow moving friends and family to where they needed to be so we could keep our schedule for the night. He was able to seamlessly transition from one musical vibe to another as we went from ceremony to cocktail hour to dinner to dancing.

He has different packages that you can choose from so that makes it easy to work in your wedding budget. He made the flow of our wedding seamless and it was so nice not to worry about anything. The wireless microphones made it easy for guests to hear our vows and officiant without worrying about holding a bulky mic. You can tell he really knows music and is so passionate about it. He has great music suggestions if you get stuck on songs and he read the crowd perfectly for the reception dancing. Even though we only had a few people on the dance floor (due to covid) everyone had such a good time dancing for hours. He is so fun and It felt like we had our own private club was awesome. I got lots of compliments on how great the music was. He’s such a great guy, I’m going to miss working with him! I’m so happy we were able to book him. Highly recommend!
Matty DELIVERED. We've consistently gotten feedback from our guests that we had the best music of any wedding they'd been to. Whether it be the ceremony or cocktail hour or the dance floor, Matty perfectly set the mood for our entire day. From day one of planning, music was one of the most important aspects of our wedding. When we had our first call with Matty, it was no question he was our DJ. We described our vision and not only did he understand it completely, he executed in the best possible way. Matty Mo did an amazing job at our wedding! He was super easy to get in contact with and after one phone call with him we booked him. We actually never met in person before our wedding, which didn't bother us. All our communication was done via email and phone. He was professional and went above and beyond with music. He had a set up for our ceremony and a set up for our reception- both went flawlessly. Matty Mo did an amazing job DJing our wedding! First he met with us and asked us questions about the music we wanted at our wedding and about the general vibe. He was very professional and you can tell right off the bat he loves music and DJing. On our actual wedding day, he was on time and set up on time. He was able to do things "on the fly" like announcing our entrance and playing our favorite song (which we were initially not going to do). Our wedding was also at a venue where there was no wifi but he was still able to take music requests, etc. As for the actual music, he was spot on! We gave him a general vibe and artists we liked and he ran with it. There were people doing back flips and throwing each other in air because the vibe was so good! Matty Mo made our wedding so easy and so fun! Matty Mo was an excellent choice to DJ our wedding. He worked with me to incorporate my chosen songs and favorite genres, and got our guests (ranging in age from 7 to 97) up and dancing. We had an absolute blast, in large part due to Matty’s tunes. He’s a legit DJ, without the corniness of a typical wedding DJ. Highly recommended.
