Neal is the G.O.A.T! He was one of our absolute favorite vendors to work with and played such a huge role in making our wedding everything we hoped it would be. From the very beginning, Neal was thoughtful, professional, incredibly accommodating, and genuinely invested in making the music feel like us. He went above and beyond by creating custom mixes for our parent dances, and they turned out absolutely perfectly. He also handled the audio for our ceremony, and the microphones and speakers were flawless! Every word could be heard clearly, there were no technical difficulties despite this being a completely outdoor wedding, and we never had to worry about a thing. The cocktail hour and reception was just as incredible. Neal played every song we wanted, completely understood the atmosphere we were going for, and kept our dance floor packed all night. The volume of every song was also perfect and we had so many guests compliment the music both during and after the wedding, which says everything! He knew exactly how to read the room and keep the energy going while still making sure the music felt personal to us. Beyond being an amazing DJ, Neal was simply such a pleasure to have as part of our wedding day. He went above and beyond at every turn, made the entire process easy and stress-free, and absolutely delivered when it mattered most. We never had to ask him to do anything because he would problem solve/troubleshoot everything himself without involving us. Our wedding would not have been the same without him, and we are so grateful for everything he did to make the day perfect. He was also super easy to work with, very responsive, and made the whole process stress-free. We ended up ahead of schedule throughout our reception and he did a great job adapting to changes and working with our day of coordinator. We felt like we got an amazing value for everything he provided. In addition, I've participated as talent, as well as tech and presentation, in music related events all around the region for three decades. I was one of the founders of DC's longest running retro party, 80's Dance Party, which started in Adams Morgan back in 1993. I branched out into doing weddings in the 00's, and it has been great! I love playing weddings and sharing in the joy of the happy couple and their families! I can work with you on developing a set from your specific song list. I'm also great with improvising!

idance was invaluable. He spoke with us to figure out what we needed regarding both sound and lighting, and didn't pressure us in any way. He's very accommodating regarding the sources of your music/sound. He's easy-going and working with him is as simple as giving him a general idea of what you're looking for, or (as in our case) catering the music choices to fit with your music. Our family and friends were stunned with his DJing. As soon as we finished our scheduled dances (first dance, mother/son, etc.) the crowd hit the dancefloor and it wasn't clear until the place shut down - the truest sign of a great wedding one could ask for! An important note: we made it clear in our first call with him that this was an LGBTQ wedding (we didn't want someone who wasn't interested in working a wedding of two guys) and Neal made it clear he was excited to work with us, and had worked with other LGBTQ couples in the area. Another thing I want to mention about my appreciation: he helped coordinate a surprise for my husband - I had secretly learned to play ukulele, and surprised him with a song following the toasts - went off without a hitch (nerves don't count), and two months later we can't stop saying how it was the best day of our lives. I should have been more proactive in keeping you informed, I guess in my mind I was thinking I had more time (we were still about 11 months out) or that I wasn't as far behind as I actually was. I handle a lot of bookings every year (pretty much every weekend), I strive to keep things properly organized, and I haven't had any others where this has happened. I figured I would be able to (hopefully) resolve the conflicts and come to you with the good news that I would be available. It was really when I looked at the dates of correspondences that I had to realize that it was probably too late to fix the situation. So I apologize, I'm very sorry I left you both hanging.
