and address this misleading review starting with her wording of “chasing her husband down at the end of the night asking for rest of payment” our contract that Kate signed states that the “balance is due upon commencement of the event” she signed it. It was addressed during booking, in email and on phone call the week of. This was after me waiting 1/2 hour after the wedding was over. I politely asked as what we had agreed upon. The balance was due. When else would you pay when the contract is clear. This is an industry standard contract and been used for 1100+ weddings in the past without issue. Per grooms instructions I had to leave without payment that night. For them to pay later. Now to address these false accusations. When we spoke over the phone to cover the wedding details there was not any mention on my paperwork of the cultural things. It was after the call that the emails started to come in and revised timelines on 12/19/24 of their requests which was no problem at all. We do it all the time. I simply asked them to provide the music since it was not in English. They did and instead of a title and artist they sent the music titled with time such as a song was names “9:45” etc. once we have another 30 emails and a second phone call for the scripts and itinerary. I reached out to the venue to discuss circumstances of two separate rooms and switching back and forth twice. One room was for ceremony the. Switch to dancing room for cocktail then back to ceremony room for dinner and formal dances then do a train out of dinning room to dancing room hence the audio issues from venue. PER THE TIMELINE the venue was open to set up at 2pm. I arrived at 2 and started to load in at 2:15. I had spoke to management prior to arrival and they were supposed to have a tech there to show me where to plug into audio to connect these two rooms. I plugged in and the staff did not know how to operate their own sound and lights. I spent hours trying to help them. I did eat my lunch and was doing all i could. They set me up on the opposite side of the room with control of audio for ceremony. The venue had control due to having to have two rooms connected. After the ceremony I played for cocktail hour doing a live set battling the audio with staff. They ended up not being able to use any of their in house lighting because the general manager had the controls on their iPad and was on vacation. I had lighting with me and set it up programmed to the room and never said a word to bride and groom only the planner as she was amazing at trying to help navigate this unprepared -unprofessional venue. When it came time for the dance i had to read a script that they had for me. It was fine. Then when i kept asking the venue tech “are the rooms audio connected” he went over on the opposite side of the room and started messing with everything removing any control I had. I was devastated for the bride and groom. It broke my heart that this was happening and out of my control. The venue tech had it come back on and then shut it off again. Only to later find out the microphone buzzing was because the venue switch the mic from room to room and had their mics on the wrong room. Out of my control. I had put my best foot forward and I in fact DID test the system in both rooms prior too. I did work with the venue. The bride and groom were not present for this so for them to make this accusation when I put my heart into this is unfortunate! No matter how many times you test something if someone keeps messing with it the test is void!! The circumstances here lead to this and as far as what version of me they got. I can tell you. The only version there is. One with integrity. One with pride in my work. One with passion to provide the best possible service. Just like you read in my other 250 reviews. Being accused of not taking accountability is something I PROUDLY stand by. I nor should anyone take accountability for something they did not do. If I had been the failure of this wedding I would be crushed and full of apologies in every way. I treated this couple as if they were family and I battled for them. I told the staff to leave the audio alone, just as i would have if it was my own. Although I am disheartened at these accusations, I still feel for this couple as I expressed to them on the phone in the follow up call. I will proudly say my heart, integrity & accountability was on point. I will never step foot in that venue again. I thank you all for your time in reading.
