We hired DJ Shy for our wedding. DJ Shy was great to work with! She was very organized (she sent us a big questionnaire beforehand) and was quick to respond to emails. We wanted to...
do a fakeout song before doing our real first dance song, and she was able to do that for us as well. The audio setup was also very good and it never cut out, we were very happy! She also found our speech givers from the crowd (using the seating chart we assume?) and talked to them beforehand to give them heads up that they were speaking soon. She was able to keep the event moving and do all the announcements super well, and brought a bunch of great energy to our wedding! Overall a pleasure to work with and we were super satisfied!
DJ Shy was a great find for our wedding in Alameda, CA—certainly one of the easier vendor decisions to feel good about in hindsight. From our first meeting, the vibe was right — sh...
e’s chill, kind, and has a way of asking the right questions without making the process feel overwhelming.
She has a straightforward form that helps you organize your preferences, and she met with us a few times leading up to the day to make sure nothing fell through the cracks. She doesn’t need hand-holding — she took our ideas as inspiration and ran with them, which is exactly what you want when you’re juggling a hundred other things.
On the night itself, she killed it as an MC. She announced our wedding party like it was a WNBA starting lineup — a total crowd moment. She played our favorites throughout and kept the dance floor moving all night. Totally earned our trust.
DJ Shy was a pleasure to work with! She set up and ran our sound for our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and lunch as well as DJing for our reception. She arrived on time, set up ...
quickly, and was accommodating to all of the last minute inevitable timeline adjustments throughout the day. We highly recommend DJ Shy for your wedding or any special event!
We were excited to book DJ Shy for our July 2024 wedding. Unfortunately she played the wrong music for our ceremony, leading our wedding party to not know when to enter. This music...
was replayed 3 times until the ceremony finally began. My spouse and I didn’t know this until watching videos of our wedding later.
The wrong song was also played for my bridal entrance which was really disappointing again.
DJ Shy hardly played any of the music we requested for our reception as well and also misgendered my spouse when announcing us.
On her form we filled out, we clearly asked to that she play specific music (which was listed with the title and artist of each song) and that she not refer to my spouse as “bride” but I guess she did not read what we filled out on her form or forgot what we discussed on the phone before our wedding day. It was really unfortunate and disappointing.
DJ Shy did a great job with keeping the reception moving! We loved the way she riffed on the playlists we gave her and the vibes were great. She is flexible and open to last minute...

juggle requests left and right from wild wedding guests, DJ Shy handled everything thrown at her like a champ and all with a smile. She was a highly energetic emcee too! We love her and she got countless compliments from our guests, even some that wanted to book her for their own wedding in the future! Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a high energy and highly capable DJ able to mix tons of diverse music!
DJ Shy was our MC and DJ throughout the day and she was the perfect blend of warmth, positivity, supportive energy, and professionalism with every interaction from start to finish!...
She genuinely seemed to be excited about our wedding every time we talked with her, even though she's a seasoned pro! Before the Big Day, she took the time to go through the schedule of the day with us to make sure she knew what she should say and what she would play, and worked well with my friend who was helping to set up all the performance aspects of our reception (my son played the piano, my husband and I sang to each other, and I organized a surprise flash mob for him!). She played great music all night and has such a cool, confident, positive vibe that it felt really good to have her support throughout the day and night. Thank you so much for playing such an important role in our day, Shy!!
DJ Shy helped make our wedding day absolutely amazing! She translated our song requests into awesome sets, kept the vibes awesome, and was so so easy and amazing to work with. 10/1...

We found DJ shy on the Knot and she exceeded our expectations. Our goal was to get people dancing all night, but the couple had polar opposite desires: one liked Top 40 with singal...
ong lyrics, and the other liked disco with an easy beat. She was able to combine these requests into a night where somehow we were both satisfied. She even played a set of Persian music flawlessly, and got ALL the Persians on the dance floor. We changed a lot last minute, up to the last second, where we gave DJ Shy about 15 seconds to change our closing song that we came up with while giving our goodbye toast. She killed it. She rocked the silent disco, the Persian set, and the entire night. Thanks for the amazing night!!
DJ Shy was amazing at our wedding and reception!! She played the best music and our guests loved it (and her)!! It was also great working with her prior to our event talking with h...
er about our music likes and do not play lists. And what music should play during the ceremony, during cocktail hour, during dinner, and later on for dancing. It was great that she took time to get to know us to better understand what we’d like to hear throughout the event. It was important for us to work with someone who actually took the time to understand and connect with us and Shy was perfect. We highly recommend her and will be using her for any other events we need amazing entertainment for.

up to the wedding, and everything was perfect on the day itself. Even when there were some issues with other vendors (unrelated to DJ Shy), she went above and beyond and stepped in to help and kept everyone calm and in good spirits! We would definitely recommend DJ Shy!

! Especially grateful how she was able to deal with some unruly family members who had too many song requests (lol). We really enjoyed all the music she played and how she incorporated our music choices! Guests even told us afterwards how much they loved DJ Shy's work!

matched. From beginning to end, Shy made sure all details were covered.
She even brought an extra wireless mic and stand for our officiant. She can read a crowd, know how to hype them up, and keep them going late into the night.
Hands down, she's the best and you won't be disappointed!

our, to reception was in our liking. DJ Shy just knocked it out of the park and had so many of our guests on the dance floor. Everything went off without a problem and I know this is because of all the work she put in leading up to and on the day-of. We appreciate you DJ Shy!! Our wedding was amazing and we thank you sooo much.

During the wedding, Shy was incredibly accommodating, always available and incredibly fun. She made sure the party was always bumping and that people were having fun. Everyone at the wedding LOVED her to pieces and said such wonderful and positive things about her.
Not to mention the music was on POINT! Incredibly fun dance music, the music was what we asked for for the ceremony, introductions, etc. I would absolutely hire Shy again to DJ at a wedding or party, etc.
