I’m Stephen, a professional musician and wedding DJ based in the Triangle. I’ve spent my career working in music, both performing and teaching, which has shaped the way I approach weddings. I care deeply about how music supports a moment, how energy builds over the course of a night, and how thoughtful planning leads to an experience that feels natural and effortless.

When I DJ a wedding, everything is customized. From ceremony and cocktail hour through the final song of the reception, I work closely with each couple to understand their musical taste, guest mix, and overall vision. Rather than relying on preset playlists or generic wedding formulas, I curate music intentionally so each part of the day flows smoothly into the next.

I handle announcements, transitions, and coordination with other vendors in a way that keeps things moving without pulling focus. My goal is to be present and organized behind the scenes, allowing you and your guests to stay in the moment and enjoy the day.

I regularly DJ weddings throughout Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill and am comfortable working in a wide range of venues, from intimate spaces to larger event settings. In addition to music, I provide ceremony audio, wireless microphones, and simple, tasteful lighting designed to enhance the room without overwhelming it.

He also provided some helpful tips for timeline and setup based on his substantial experience with weddings! He created a song list for dinner and cocktail hour that we absolutely loved and was exactly what we were looking for, and we’ve been listening to it regularly even since the wedding! And multiple guests came up to us during the wedding to say how much they were enjoying the music. Even though we had a smaller wedding, he did a great job of reading guests’ energy and there were always people having a good time on the dance floor!

So many of our family and friends shared with us that they loved the music lineup Stephen queued up for the night that kept the party alive all night long. Having wide variety of musical tastes ourselves and us wanting to cater to our family and friends favorites, Stephen had an ear to seamlessly blend all types of genres together moving from today’s pop/ country to our Latin favorites to classic rock, he had everyone engaged and on the dance floor. When my dad and I couldn’t decide on a song for our father-daughter dance, Stephen created for us the perfect mix of our favorite two songs. We put full trust in Stephen to select for us our exit song for the night and he nailed it.

5! Stephen was easy to work with from the beginning. We had a quick phone call at the inception of planning to get a rough outline of what we were looking for. Stephen provided a handy shared document for us to brainstorm the ceremony and reception music from the start of the day to the end! I was a very DIY bride, so I’m so thankful that he shared this document with us early so that I could get to work!
Not only did Stephen play our favorite tunes on the dance floor, but he also announced for our whole reception and provided the setup for our ceremony. His setup is impressive and made complete by some extremely fun dance floor lighting. Honestly, working with Stephen made my wedding planning a breeze. I didn’t have to think about the actual flow of the night at all. He has weddings down to a science, taking into consideration every part of the day to make sure the vibe is always right!

th and very responsive. As the day approached we met again to discuss the details of the day and vibe we wanted for various parts of the event. There were areas we had very specific requests for, and other areas where we wanted him to have more control and freedom. When the day finally arrived, both the emceeing and DJing were perfect. The sound for the ceremony was fantastic, he guided guests smoothly throughout the cocktail hour and dinner, and he kept people dancing all night. He read the vibe of the crowd and was able to match it perfectly.
Despite how well the event went, I think the most memorable thing was how easy it was to work with him. When everything was getting chaotic in the final weeks before the event, and we were pulled ten different directions at once, it was so reassuring and relieving to hear a vendor say that he would be able to work with whatever we could give him. I can't recommend him highly enough!
