We hired DJ Timdogg in November 2025 for our May 2026 wedding after searching for DJs in Delaware, since we live out of state. I found him through WeddingWire, and after several po...
sitive phone conversations, reviewing the mixes he sent, and reading strong reviews, we decided to book him.
For most of the next six months, things went well. He was responsive and requested a detailed list of our music selections. There were a few occasions where he missed scheduled calls or appointments, but he always followed up and rescheduled, so we weren't overly concerned.
Everything changed three days before our wedding. After I texted him that we no longer wanted to do a bouquet toss, he replied that he had a small issue to discuss and would call me later that evening. He never called. The next morning, I followed up and learned that he could no longer DJ our wedding because his wife had planned a surprise anniversary trip that began the same day as our wedding.
As you can imagine, I was shocked and extremely upset. With only two days before the wedding, I had little choice but to trust his replacement DJ, whom he assured me would be fully briefed on all of the details we had spent six months planning. I requested a discount, a three-way call with the replacement DJ, and an opportunity to meet him before the wedding. The replacement DJ agreed to meet us at our hotel before the ceremony.
On the wedding day, he texted that he was on his way but later said he was stuck in traffic and could no longer meet us. Since I was the bride getting ready, I instructed him to go directly to the venue and coordinate with our ceremony sound technician, Ken.
Unfortunately, it became obvious during the ceremony that this coordination never happened. Every ceremony song was wrong except for my processional song, which I personally verified moments before walking down the aisle. Instead of our selected music, generic songs were played throughout the ceremony.
The reception was equally disappointing. The replacement DJ appeared unprepared and struggled through many key moments. For the bridal party entrance, he played an instrumental version of the song we selected instead of the actual song. He also announced and played music for a parent/grandparent entrance that was never requested and played the wrong song for our first dance. There were long delays before the father-daughter and mother-son dances, creating awkward gaps in the reception timeline.
Throughout the evening, multiple guests complained that the music was too loud, and there were sound issues with crackling speakers. Toasts were not properly announced, and the overall flow felt disorganized. Once open dancing began, things improved somewhat, but many songs from our must-play list—including reggae and go-go sets—were skipped unless guests specifically requested them. At one point, he even introduced the reggae set with a reggaeton song.
Thankfully, we still had a beautiful wedding day. However, the DJ situation was unquestionably the biggest disappointment. What made it even worse was that after the wedding, neither DJ Tim nor the replacement DJ accepted responsibility for what happened. Instead, blame was shifted to others, excuses were made, and concerns were dismissed.
Based on our experience, I would not recommend hiring DJ Tim for an important event. Being replaced just days before the wedding and then experiencing so many preventable mistakes on the wedding day was incredibly disappointing.
DJ TimDogg was amazing!! Initially I was a little hesitant to hire him because he had very little reviews. We are so glad that we did. Book this man today!!! Extremely professional...
arrived early to set up. I even booked him last minute and he was available. He checked with us beforehand on our music preferences and did not disappoint.
He was amazing from start to finish. We will definitely be using his services again in the near future. I would recommend him to everybody. I would give him 100 stars of I could!!! NJ Gonzalez Family
DJ Tim was great to work with in the beginning. Very professional and always checked to see how our plans were going. On the day of the wedding though, he did not show up. My coord...
inators tried to call and I also tried to call and no answer. My venue coordinators said they spoke with him earlier in the day and he had an emergency. I can understand that, but was at least expecting a call after our wedding to apologize or at least to see how the replacement DJ did. I'm glad he sent a replacement, even though he arrived late, but we were scrambling trying to find another DJ just in case someone didnt show up. The replacement DJ did a great job and we were so thankful that he came and everyone had a great time.
Tim was all that! When we needed suggestions for song selections he came up with some great ones. He kept the party going and the people dancing! We had a great time and he was a m...
