We also appreciated that Gil checked in with us throughout the night to make sure we were happy with the musical selections. On a more personal note: Before our ceremony began, I (the bride) was left to wait in our reception space, nearby where Gil was already setting up. I was waiting there for what seemed like forever and was getting more and more nervous. I really appreciated that Gil noticed me there and talked to me, not about anything important but it helped distract me and calm me down. By the time I was cued to begin my walk down the aisle I was in a much calmer mood than I had been before Gil started a conversation with me. All in all, DJ-Chicago was a great choice. Affordable, professional and they kept the party going until it was time to go home.

He also talked about how there's certain parts in songs that people loved, and other parts not so much. You know you've been to a wedding before where the DJ just cannot seem to get out of a decade or plays a song way too long. He totally knocked it out of the park! Our dance floor was packed from the very first to the very last song. We had the best man come up to us the next day and say "I really needed to go to the bathroom but then another banger would come on and I needed to stay out on the dance floor." We also had another guest ask us for his information for a future wedding. We received so many compliments how he absolutely crushed it! When he announced that the last song was coming on, there were boos from the audience! He did such a great job at tailoring the set list to us as well, integrating our likes/dislikes and small comments that we made to him during our meetings to really make it seem like it was for us. We were talking to our family member (the one that he DJd at before us) and we were talking about fun it was at both weddings and how great Nick was at both weddings, but how it felt really different. A DJ, I think can be one of the hardest vendors to book for a wedding. Do yourself a favor and book Nick and DJ Chicago, I have no reservation in recommending him to anyone and everyone!

We also appreciated the day-of DJ guarantee, where we would have still been covered even if our assigned DJ were to have had an emergency and been unable able to attend. We booked with DJ Chicago because of the positive reviews, and we were not disappointed!

He then is willing to work with you to find out how much input you want to have in the music at your wedding. Mark went above and beyond to help me find a special version of the song I wanted to use to walk down the aisle. What really makes Mark stand out as a professional is his ability to read the crowd. There was not one moment that our dance floor was not packed. One of my favorite moments from our wedding was when one of our friends came to me and said, “I’ve needed to get a drink for like 10 minutes but I he keeps playing songs I don’t want to miss!!” I think that pretty much sums it up. Mark transitioned from song to song in a seamless way that made it impossible to not want to stay! Mark was extremely professional throughout the entire process from beginning to end providing helpful suggestions when we weren't exactly sure what we wanted. Not only did Mark create the perfect dance party, but he also helped my dad in giving the most thoughtful father of the bride speech I've ever heard. Music is something that my dad and I have bonded over since I was little and so my dad worked with Mark (secretly) to incorporate various songs into his speech.
