Do not use this guy. I’ve been to many weddings and I’ve never seen a guy screw up a wedding like this guy did. Literally sat in a chair most of the time. No charisma, no energy. Sat there like he was having a bad time. Played wrong songs. Stopped songs in the middle of them to play other ones. Didn’t announce anything properly. Was an indoor/outdoor wedding. Think he’d set up a speaker inside? Na. Wasn’t until we requested that he put one inside so people could hear the toasts or announcements. I truly wanted to yell at him because I felt bad for the bride and groom whom had to keep correcting him. He mentions in this right up that he has “wireless mics” and “lapel mics” as part of his setup. I don’t know if that’s an upgrade thing but from what I saw. He had all antiquated equipment or he didn’t want to use his “good” stuff because I didn’t see any of that being used. Doc should be ashamed of himself and give the couple their money back. After that he should retire or stick to karaoke but not weddings. That’s for certain.
Update: in response to his response. “We all have bad days”. Are you kidding me? That’s what you are going with? It’s the biggest day of people’s lives. Typically something people do once and you have the audacity to say “we all have bad days”. I’m not on the wedding DJ business but I would suggest even if you’re having a “bad day” maybe fake it and get through what you got PAID to do. Was it a bad day when you cashed that check? Bad day. DO YOUR JOB. Unbelievable. People, stay away!
DO NOT HIRE DOC’S FEEL GOOD MUSIC FOR YOUR WEDDING. I don’t even know where to begin with this review, that’s how bad of a DJ Bruce was.
I guess the only place to start is from the beginning. The first red flag which went unnoticed was the horribly outdated aol.com email which is also an unprofessional and misspelled email ‘lokn4anrs’. Not using his name or the business name stood out but I looked past it at the time.
The first red flag I picked up on was about 2 months before the wedding. My wife had indicated on the knot that he was our DJ. This must have alerted him because he reached out to her saying that dates were not secure until a deposit was paid. I had to then reach out to him confirming that we signed a contract and paid the deposit over 6 months prior.
A week before the wedding I submitted a work sheet he had provided with special songs for the evening, names of our party members. A few days later he asked me to resend it because “his computer ate it”. Mind you this was just a pdf attachment in an email and he was responding to the same email I had sent, so he could have just downloaded the attachment again if somehow his computer “ate” the previously downloaded copy. It took 4 attempts for him to finally be able to open the pdf.
In addition to filling out the form he provided. We also shared spotify playlists with him of ceremony music, dinner music, and dance music. I don’t know how much easier we could have made that for him. Prior to our ceremony he was not playing our playlist. His excuse was that he could not connect to the wifi. Excuse but that is why I made sure you had the playlists previously and you can download them to your computer. This was already an issue on another review that he claims to have learned from.
He played the wrong song while my wife walked down the aisle. He didn’t play the processional song we wanted. He announced us before the rest of the wedding party when doing introductions. He stumbled through reading the names of our wedding party pairs. I literally had to tell him each pair, since me and my wife were already done since he announced us first. He almost played the wrong song when I danced with my mom, good thing I was in front of him and corrected him.
When he had to deviate off of the playlist for any of these special songs he did not go back to the playlist and instead just kept on with the songs the spotify algorithm came up with based on the one song. When I brought this up to him he tried arguing with me that this was my playlist. Really? You’re telling me I don’t know what we put on our playlist, and you have the audacity to argue? I later. Watched as he managed to get signed out of spotify and sat there for 10 minutes attempting to log back into his AOL account with an incorrect password error that kept popping up.
Finally at the end of the night after getting paid the balance of what I owed him, he decided to just cut the night 45 minutes short. This was an absolutely awful DJ experience. Do not make the same mistake we did, stay away from Doc’s Feel Good Music.
We were almost down to the wire and Doc was very accommodating. He listened to what we wanted and delivered a perfect ceremony and dance party afterwards. He was flexible and showed up early to the event to mitigate anxiety.
Doc was very easy to work with for the big day. We had an initial meeting to sort out the details and he took it from there. We were not expecting our guests to dance a whole lot, but doc actually got every single person out on the dance floor the entire night. If you want a DJ with character, and a fun wedding, Doc is your guy!
Bruce was absolutely wonderful to work with for the music at our wedding!
He made it super simple by using Spotify in order to him to play the music that we wanted for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception.
He was sure to account for everything that we wanted to do from the garter toss to the cake cutting.
We will definitely be recommending him to any of our friends who will be getting married later on!
We had such a great time at our wedding last weekend! Doc was very organized and sent us a form well in advance where we could make music selections, such as the processional song during the ceremony, the cocktail hour music, and of course the dance music! I sent him small playlists to work off of to get a feel of the style/genres we preferred, and he filled in the rest! Our dance floor was packed the entire night until the very last minutes of our reception. (And it doesn't hurt that Doc's services are much more affordable than other DJs!) Thank you for a wonderful night!
Doc was great! He kept people out on the dance floor all night long! He also did our ceremony music and it was lovely. Great to work with
I had to do a lot of planing well in advance as we moved states 2.5 months before the wedding... From the very beginning with Doc meeting us in Castle Rock since at that time we lived in Colorado Springs to the couple weeks leading up to the wedding. He is just easy to talk to and had a way of knowing what I wanted even though I was not sure what I wanted. He listens and gets to know you. We met him about 6 months before the wedding and we paid our deposit he gave us tools to help choose songs, got lost in the move sorry :) but never bugged or pressured us in anyway for the rest of the money or song selections. The 10 days before the wedding Doc reached out not to bug but to let me know he had been to our venue and that allowed him to set up and get the feel for the venue. I am glad they dont charge per text anymore because there were days we texted more then I had with my now husband. You really helped me through the final steps of the reception and you helped even when other issues were going on. The only complaint from my friends and family was that they didnt see any business card so they can get your information!!! I helped with providing them with that ;) Thanks so much for all you help and making my wedding reception everything I had imagined it to be
Bruce was fantastic. Easy to work with, even when things changed last minute, it was no problem. Everyone was dancing all night! I would recommend him to all my friends!
Doc was great! He knew exactly what music to play to keep the party going. He also knew what not to play. One guest told me Doc wouldn't play a song he requested, the song was most definitely not wedding appropriate, so thanks for not playing it! If we need a dj again we will be calling Doc!
Amazing Dj at my sisters wedding, will keep them in mind for my big day!
I really enjoyed how relaxed everything was with Doc. It was a fun light wedding and he made sure that we were happy. He had a smile on his face the whole time. He was quick on his feet and was able to overcome multiple road bumps caused by the venue. My favorite part was Docs willingness and openness to the wedding. Being a themed same sex marriage is something to wrap your head around. But he took all that with open arms and even dressed up for the part! I couldn't have found anyone better for the price!
