In fact, they seemed to work well together. The night of the wedding he sent us several still shots from the video. I loved that I was able to share photos from the wedding with our family at brunch the next morning! He provided all of the final deliverables promptly (a week after the wedding). He gave us several copies of DVDs/Blu-ray discs containing our complete wedding video and divided it into chapters (ceremony/first dance/cake cutting/ etc…) to make it easier to navigate. He also made a short video and provided all of the raw files to us in a hard drive we brought over to him. This is not a cinematography production, it is purely documentary style, but the picture quality was great and he did several edits to ensure consistent lighting and smooth transitions in the video. His services were truly a great value and we would definitely recommend No Frills Video to others. TLDR: Joel is very prepared and professional, and truly strives to make the experience smooth and to live up to the agreed upon expectations. He is very honest, open, and upfront. We were most impressed with the next-day deliverable of previous snapshots and the final deliverable of the wedding video a week later.

Joel used at least 3 cameras so the video shows all the important parts from just the right angles thanks to his skill and how it's edited together. yet I hardly ever noticed him during the event. Happily though all my friends and family were glad to have Joel stepping behind them, like a Ninja, to backlight their selfies. Several people told me what a cool guy Joel is and "where did you find him, he's great!" He is great! Plus such a calming influence on my anxiety that day, because I could feel his professionalism and his explanations and input.! His communication before and after the wedding was thorough and detailed, this guy knows this business, knows how to communicate, and knows his craft well! We have not yet received our photographer photos, and it has been great to have Joel's photos to share with our family and friends. The quality is great. We were not mic'd, and Joel's cameras (yes, he uses multiple cameras to get different angles and perspectives during the ceremony) picked up even our whispers. During the reception, he not only captured video and photos, but he went around and provided light for our guests so that their selfies and phone pictures had adequate lighting. The day goes by so fast, and photos alone will only capture part of the story. Hire Joel , and he will help make the story complete. He is very thorough, and I promise you will not be disappointed.

With that said, I am SO glad we found Joel at No Frills Video! He was a solid option for us both with price point and product quality. We weren't looking for anything too "cinematic" and we really enjoyed the "documentary style" filmwork he produced in his samples online. He was easily accessible, responded promptly to e-mails and texts, and was very frank with us in regards to the style of videography hat he specializes in. From the service (timing, punctuality, accessibility, and organization) to the quality of his products, we truly couldn't be happier. We literally received 100+ texted pictures of our wedding THAT SAME NIGHT, and even on our honeymoon just two days later! It was so fun going through all of the pictures with my husband. The video clips were posted in a shared Dropbox file and we were literally able to watch these videos while we were on our honeymoon. It was so great to have such quick access to this precious footage and it was like we were reliving our wedding day all over again (but this time, actually getting to soak it in and see exactly what happened on our wedding day since everything was such a blur)! We were willing to settle for my cousin filming us throughout the day, but for a very decent price, Joel was totally the best decision we could have made. We received all of the raw files and images on blu-ray and regular DVDs in a timely manner and Joel also downloaded all of the files onto our external hard drive. He managed to capture some moments that I was worried that we might not have gotten through out photographer! I loved getting the stills shots from the ceremony, picture taking, and reception because it allowed me to see pictures of my wedding from a more candid stance. I have already shared the stills with friends and family and they loved getting to see those moments as sort of a sneak peek to what pictures my photographer put. Joel sent us our ceremony, still slideshow, AND the ten minute video clip within a week of our wedding and we received our DVDs within two weeks (mainly because we were out of town). Wonderful experience working with Joel and I would definitely recommend No Frills Video to any of my friends who might be getting married in the future!

Some other comments: - Prompt and thorough in communication - Punctual - Well organized - Flexible in scheduling - Delivered products exactly as described on website, during meeting, and on contract - Kept you informed and involved during entire process of editing and production - Received all original content on personal hard disk if you requested it - Pricing was very reasonable - Very nice person and very honest! - Happy with hiring Joel to capture our wedding. Suggestions for bride/groom: - Suggest requesting no contact until next day after wedding if you will still remain in town - you may get text messages very late in the night. Alternatively, just put the cell phone on silent. - Ask someone to keep Joel informed about next activities during reception - he may need to swap the camera battery depending on remaining life, and needs to be done in advance of a long filming sequence such as during speeches.

My chief complaint is that I felt this vendor contacted me too often and overwhelmed me with venue and timing details that were beyond anyone's control. I realize he was trying to assure that he could deliver quality services, but I would have preferred a more flexible approach as there are many aspects of the wedding day that simply cannot be controlled or planned ahead of time. Overall, the service was fine but it involved unnecessary and intensive communication about many details that simply could not be foreseen.

most important thing about our wedding videography was just simply having it on film. We didn't need the fancy editing and also did not want to pay the crazy high prices to get it. No Frills is a great value.
