We ordered a two tier wedding cake and 6 cupcakes. My MIL was the main corresponder as I do not live in the area so I’m writing this based on her personal experience. Although the ...
cake taste was pretty good (not the best but better than other vendors we tried), our experience with Dolce Amar was overall negative. Here is why:
We picked a picture from their booklet and our cake did not match it all. 1. The cake has a burgundy palette but we specifically picked blush pink to match our theme 2. The base of the cake is plain white when the design had broad pink paint strokes across the entirety of the cake.
What bothered me most is that this store lacks of transparency. They didn't give the price range until we placed the order. My MIL sent several emails to ask, but never got response. The owner only sent her 4 emails, an invoice for cake tasting, an invoice for paying the cake and two for the final confirmation.
When we received the final invoice, it was itemized with 1. Custom cake - $850 and 2. Cupcakes - $30.90. We had already paid $70 for the cake tasting and their website indicates that it can be credited to our cake order. When asked about adding this credit in our invoice, we were told that it was already included. So in actuality, the cake cost was $850 + $70 = $920.
Also, a couple weeks before the wedding, Raffaella wanted my MIL to pay extra for the buttercream flower, which she requested when she ordered the cake. After showing Rafael’s the original order email, she agreed to drop that extra charge.
Dolce Amar is one of our absolute favorite spots and we just knew they had to have a hand in our big day. To my dismay, my now husband has never been a fan of cake. However, there'...
s nothing we both love more than Dolce Amar's Salted Caramel Cheesecake. Downright heavenly! This special treat really added a personal touch to our big day. Definitely don't skip out on this spot, they really have something delectable for everyone.

mall berries and greens. It was absolutely gorgeous and delicious. We also had a different flavor cake in the back so there were two options. The guests absolutely loved the cake, and we have the top tier saved for next year!

Wedding cake and other wedding goodies aside, Dolce Amar is a great bakery and I highly recommend it for other items as well! It was such a great every time we went in because it gave us an excuse to try more of their items!

o work with her. We were very untraditional and wanted a big variety for a dessert table! We knew we were doing donuts from our venue as take home favors so the dessert table we wanted to support a local small bakery and make it extravagant as we were not doing a cake. She has the best bakery! She was so thoughtful and kind! Everything was great. We unfortunately just didn’t get any dessert, HAHA! We had asked our venue and Raffaella to set aside some for us to enjoy at the hotel knowing we wouldn’t have time to eat during the wedding. We set aside a Tupperware and labeled it but unfortunately it never got accomplished haha. BUT all our guests RAVED about the desert saying it was all amazing! We left boxes for guests to take home knowing we over ordered and there wasn’t even a crumb left everyone was SO happy eating their desserts and taking them home to enjoy! Wish we could have joined but know from our tasting that it must have all been spectacular! Highly recommend! Please support small local businesses!

ill. It was incredibly convenient that she was so close to our venue for delivery. We loved our cake tasting in her bakery and truly felt so special to be there. It was so elegant and she listened to every last detail. Nothing about her baking style is mass produced, overly fake/sugary and we really appreciated the quality and old style of baking that she incorporates into her work. Any time I can stop into her bakery for a treat is a good day! Definitely recommend her for your wedding!

he also did a full dessert bar and made French macrons as our favor. She was very easy to work with, as well as accommodating with my last minute changes and requests like surprising my wedding planner with a cupcake for her anniversary. I would absolutely recommend Dolce Amar to family, friends, or anyone in the New England area. Raffaella is as sweet as the desserts she makes.
