I was so nervous to order my wedding dress online, but Merrie made it SO incredibly easy and fun! She stayed in constant communication with me, and I got my dress within a few weeks of ordering. My dress was absolutely stunning, and I felt beautiful on my big day!

I was not looking forward to finding a wedding dress at all since I am not a shopper. I was looking for a tea length dress with a vintage feel to it and none of the dresses I was seeing in the windows or magazines even came close, then in The Knot magazine I saw an ad for Dolly Couture. I was skeptical about ordering on line but Abby made the experience painless. The dress is beautiful and exactly what I had wanted. Would highly recommend them to anyone looking for something a little different and the price was extremely reasonable.

I loved Dolly Couture. They have a wide selection of vintage inspired, tea length dresses that were perfect for my mid-century style wedding. The service in the shop was lovely and the quality of the dresses is very good for the price. Most dresses are under $1000. Be sure to order the dress several months in advance though because it does take at least 3 months to arrive. The dress gets mailed to you, which may not be ideal for some brides who would prefer to pick it up in person. They also recommend a great seamstress for alterations. This a perfect store for any bride looking for a new, shorter, vintage style gown.

I knew what I wanted, I ordered it and it arrived in less than 8 weeks. It was very easy. My only suggestion is to really think about any extra details you may want. I really wish I had ordered pockets in mine.

Couldn't be happier with Dolly Couture. My wedding dress was perfect, cute and vintage-y and was a huge hit! They allowed me to personalize my dress with red tulle underneath the skirt and a halter on top for more support (I chose the Sommerville in ivory). The price was right, their service was friendly and attentive, their timing was impeccable (my dress only took about 2 months to come in), the alterations were cost-effective and expertly done. I can't recommend them enough!

I had a great time at the Dolly Couture showroom in New York City and loved the dress. Yvette was very helpful and made sure I left with all the information I needed to order/customize the dress exactly the way I wanted it. When I started looking at dresses in most bridal shop advertisements I was getting discouraged. Everything was strapless and floor length with long trains. This is not my style at all. I really liked the classic style of my grandma's wedding dress which she wore in her wedding in 1950. I really wanted something cocktail length because I am very short and felt something long would make me feel shorter (plus it's hard to dance in a long gown, and I really wanted to rock out on the dance floor at my reception). SO I started internet searching for something different and thank goodness I found Dolly Couture. The shop in Tarzana is super cute, but if you don't live near by they take online orders too. The service was incredible. The dresses were like a dream come true. Every dress in that shop is exactly what I wanted... classy, cocktail or tea length, and 50s style. Amazing. My dress was under my budget of $1000 and needed very little alterations because when you order your dress they take down your measurements and make it true to your size, so it should fit perfect! (I had to have mine altered a little because I lost a few pounds just before my big day.) Dolly Couture was amazing, and I got so many compliments on me dress on my wedding day! I couldn't have been happier with my experience!

I knew from the beginning that I wanted a short dress for my wedding and I was so lucky to find Dolly Couture who specializes in short, custom, vintage-inspired dresses. I found a dress that was exactly what I envisioned. Everything is customizable, so I was able to find I style I liked and add elements as I wished. If you have a different vision for your wedding dress than the usual David's Bridal gown, I urge you to try Dolly Couture to get a dress that is more "you". I also enjoyed that the showroom is appointment only, so you get it to yourself. The consultant was really helpful in picking dresses and making suggestions for options to add.

I went to the NY showroom to try on some of the dresses and the sales lady was great in helping a girl who was a little nervous about ordering her dress online. I also had my bridesmaids dresses from there and we were all satisfied with the result. I was able to get a custom dress at a very reasonable price that fit my style.

I wanted a tea length dress to wear during my reception because my first dress was a ball gown with a cathedral length train (not great for dancing!). I'm so glad I went to Dolly. Their dresses are adorable, and each one is custom sewn to your measurements. My dress didn't fit upon arrival, and they did my alterations free of charge because their measurements had been incorrect. Their seamstress is amazing, and even though it took a few appointments, we got the dress to fit perfectly!

My experience with Dolly Couture matched pretty much every review I read before deciding to purchase my dress from them. Once I had landed on that decision, I gathered my bridesmaids up and planned a roadtrip from my home in San Francisco to her shop in Los Angeles. I tried on a couple of their in-shop samples and landed on the Avila Bay. There were a few changes I wanted to make right away, based on the Real Brides photos I'd seen on Dolly's Facebook (which is an absolute must-join - the photos lead to inspiration I never would have come up with on my own). My girls and I discussed at the salon while I was wearing the sample. We'd change this, lengthen this, add this, shift this, etc. I decided, though, not to place the order right then and there. I figured it would be smart to sleep on it. Over the next month, I tossed and turned thinking about the changes I felt I got talked into by my girls. So I reached out to Dolly's staff to see if I could work out a few changes of my own. Not only were they happy to walk me through my ideas, but before I placed the final order, Dolly sent me a sketch of the dress I'd designed. It was exactly what I wanted. I placed the order and impatiently waited for the notification that it shipped. When it arrived, in the pretty white box, I was eager to pull it out and try it on, but I arranged a more formal try on with some bridesmads and my Mom. I tried it on, and I was in love, except for the neckline. It was just.... wrong. I took several photos of me in the dress, and compared them to the sketch. When I finally decided that I wouldn't be happy with it, I sent a photo of me in the dress and the sketch to Dolly's staff. I explained what I felt was wrong with the neckline, and that I hoped something could be done. I immediately received a response from her staff agreeing that the neckline was incorrect. They instructed me to UPS the dress back to their shop, and send them the total for the UPS cost so they could reimburse me. She said their in-house seamstress would correct the neckline and they'd have it back to me in 2 weeks. Well, 2 weeks later, my dress arrived and... it was PERFECT. The seamstress did an invisible job correcting the neckline to exactly as the sketch showed. I received tons of compliments on my dress. How unique it was, how pretty, how vintage, how "me." I will treasure the dress forever.

This was not my first wedding and being an older bride I did not want the big white dress- this dress was perfect and the colored slip was really memorable for all my guests!

I knew exactly what I wanted when I set out to buy a dress about a year before my wedding. I wanted a retro look, with a sweetheart neckline, and a tea length tulle gown. Finding this proved difficult, everything I was seeing looked cheap, and was NOT what I envisioned. I found a dress in England that I loved, but it was very expensive. I heard of DC from a friend who also got her wedding gown from them. I provided images and they sketched up the dress for me, and i loved it! I sent them my measurements, and I never had to have the dress fitted, it was perfect. I had so many compliemtns on my gown, and felt wonderful knowing it was totally unique. It may not be as "retro" as some of the dresses on their site, it was more classic, but they will make whatever you want! The quality was fantastic, and they were very nice to work with.

I didn't know it right away but after a couple months of looking at wedding dresses I realized I needed a shorter length for my body shape. After that it was a matter of finding one that wasn't too casual or too ornate. The first time I saw the Beverlywood I almost teared up because it was absolutely perfect. The dress has elbow length sleeve and a full skirt that would give me the cupcake look I was after. I really liked a number of the other designs but this one was 100% what I wanted. The Dolly Couture shop is this tiny little store but they managed to have two versions of the dress I wanted in my size and were more than willing to work with any customizing I wanted. Nikki was more than helpful and super sweet with letting me know all the details when I tried the dress on for the first time 7 months before the wedding. She said I didn't need to place my order just yet and I got so caught up in the rest of wedding planning I actually forgot all about the dress until two months before. Nikki put in a rush order and didn't charge me extra because we had already met before, I was ecstatic. The dress was a huge hit, everyone said it fit my personality perfectly. It was just unique enough that people really liked it without being too unconventional that it confused some of our older guests. The quality was great and the teal tulle they added underneath was my "something blue" and I can't help but smile when I see pictures of the dress. Very highly recommend this shop and company!

I couldn't be happier with my dress!! Not only did it fit my 50's theme wedding, AND meet the need for a traditional Jewish dress....it was gorgeous. And to top it off, they custom sized my dress for an extremely reasonable price. And when the first dress came in with some incorrect measurements/ sewing -- Nicole at Dolly had them make me a whole new dress!!! What company does that today? Dolly's dresses are amazing, I was so happy and it fit like a glove ( and I'm not standard sized). Thank you Dolly and Nicole!!!

My custom dress from Dolly Couture was AMAZING. I used their NY boutique, but it's all the same company. I had been afraid to order online without touching the materials and seeing the craftsmanship. These dresses are super well-made out of high quality materials. I felt like a total princess. The people are kind and fun. The prices are amazing. <3

I was burned by another dressmaker which left me little to no time before my wedding to secure a reception dress. Not only, did Dolly Couture provide me with a gorgeous dress, they did so in a little over a week, which left plenty of time for alterations! I am forever grateful to them!

Dolly specializes in 50's style tea length dresses, but will make your dress in any length. I had a full length dress with an 18" train. They were so awesome to work with. They basically custom made my dress by combining elements from four different designs that they have and then added further modifications based on my request. I could not have been the easiest customer, but they were always so kind and accomodating. My dress turned out beautifully. It was custom to my measurements and preferences. NO ALTERATIONS ladies! Also, the prices are so incredibly reasonable especially considering the fact that you won't need alterations and the quality of fabrics that they use. I wish I had a reason to need another dress, just so I could go back and work with these amazing ladies again.

This is a great option for people who want more afforable dresses and also want them to be short. You can tailor the dress to whatever you want - changing the lace, adding sleeves, making it long - whatever! So that's really fun. I did a lot of modifications and my dress was still pretty affordable (as far as wedding dresses go). Another great part of this vendor is that they send the completed dress to your door! Great if you live out of state like I did. That being said, these are certainly not the most high quality dresses. I had to get boning in mine so that it fit me better, and it still had a strange fit around the bust that we weren't able to fully correct. I also found it odd that they did not use an invisible zipper, so the zipper was very obvious (I altered it and had an invisible zipper put in). So like the title says, you get what you pay for - which is a pretty nice dress that will probably require some tweaks.

I had an October beach wedding and the tea length dress was perfect! My dress was a beautiful ivory lace over a light pink/peach underlay that looked phenomenal in the sunset. Yvette and Montana at Dolly Couture were so helpful and I even had a matching bolero made through DC. THANK YOU for making my day perfect! *New York City location is great and so convenient for this NYC girl! Highly recommended!

I knew I wanted a 50's vintage style gown to go with my retro themed wedding. It was hard to find what I was looking for in MN. I emailed back and forth with Nicki from Dolly for about a month before deciding to order my dress. I was nervous about doing this but they were so great and helpful and that put me at ease. My dress was close to perfection I only had a couple of minor alterations to acheive the perfect fit. My dress from Dolly Couture was the perfect dress for my wedding day!

I ordered my dress online in my regular dress size with customizations for length and color. The sales consultants interacted by email so that I could be sure I was getting just what I wanted. I bought the "Luxor" and it was truly my dream dress. I traveled to the NYC Showroom and had a wonderful experience. The dress arrived and was simply stunning. It was a show stopper at the wedding. I loved working with Nikki at Dolly Couture! She made everyone comfortable in the shop and encouraged me to try on as many dresses as I wanted (she even helped into each dress). The dresses were beautiful, and the shipping was very fast on my dress and the flower girl dresses. Nikki was very responsive to all my questions and the whole experience was so easy! I highly recommend Dolly Couture for anyone who wants a moderately priced unique or short wedding dress (flower girl dress prices are especially remarkable)!

I cannot even say how much I loved my dress from Dolly Couture. It was unique and absolutely perfect for me, and it made my wedding just that much more special. I got the Avila Bay dress with champagne satin and navy lace...that wasn't listed as an option on the website, but they were totally accomodating when I asked them if it was possible. The dress arrived slightly ahead of schedule, which was one worry off my mind...and the fit was perfect! I highly recommend getting your dress from them if you're looking for something really memorable!

if you get the dress in taffeta, any alterations will show. Dress did not fit even though I had lost a few pounds. Nothing you can do!!!

My Dolly dress was everything I wanted. It was poofy and beautiful and everyone told me how much it suited me. I just wish the bust had fit a little bit better. Other than that it was comfortable and perfect.

I saw this beautiful wedding dress on the Knot and knew it had to be mine. I went on Dolly Couture and picked how I wanted to look. The dress I chose was simple and classic. Walking through Vegas in this wedding dress made me feel wonderful. I received so may compliments on my dress from Family, Friends, and STRANGERS!!! Dolly's rep Niki was wonderful to work with and she even sent a follow up email to make sure I got the dress. I live in Hawaii and never set foot in a Bridal dress shop. I did notice the dress did run a little small to size. Dolly makes Beautiful dress well with in a affordable price range.

This was the best dress shop. I needed my dress to have sleeves and no see through lace. They let me try on all of the dresses and pick out what parts of each dress I liked the best and then they made a special dress just for me. I was then measured and 6 weeks later got my dress. It fit like a glove and didn't have to be altered one bit.

Beautiful dress when it arrived! Used the RUSH processing and received my dress at the end of the 4 to 6 weeks. Was disappointed to be told for 2 weeks that my dress would be there the next day. However, Dolly and her staff were wonderful in addressing my concerns and my dress did arrive on time!

I loved my wedding dress that I got from Dolly Couture. I was looking for a unique dress that didn't have the same formality as a traditional dress and yet that still looked like a wedding dress. The Dolly Couture dresses were perfect for this. And they were very affordable!

I LOVE DOLLY!!! I knew I wanted a short wedding dress even before I was engaged! I did a Google search one day and stumbled upon Dolly Couture's website and always kept it in the back of my mind. After ACTUALLY getting engaged, the first thing I thought of was Dolly. I wasn't sure it would work out because I live in Colorado and she's located in LA (and NYC now!), but I had nothing to fear. Coincidentally, about a year before my wedding I was taking a trip to LA to visit family and was able to stop in at her just-opened showroom. I met Dolly herself and after trying on several GORGEOUS dresses in the shop, she sketched me a custom design and gave me a very reasonable quote. I got in contact with her several months later to put in the actual order (I wanted to wait to order so my measurements would be as accurate as possible) and knew that because her prices had gone up since then, I might need to pay a bit more than I was quoted--but to my surprise they honored the price they had given me before! (And trust me, I would have paid FAR more for the finished product) I knew ordering a dress online without fittings would probably result in some tailoring, which I was fine with, but when the dress arrived it needed a bit more tailoring than I could have anticipated--it was too low cut in the front, so much so that I wouldn't have felt comfortable wearing it. I took some pictures of the dress and sent them to Nickie, the sales consultant I'd been working with, and she immediately called me to apologize. Not only did they make a custom (and beautiful) lace insert for the neckline, but they paid for all the other normal alterations I had been anticipating because they have a "no unhappy brides" policy. I ended up LOVING the lace insert and couldn't believe their prompt customer service. They truly are committed to making your dream dress happen and you wouldn't BELIEVE the compliments I received on the dress--even the seamstresses at the shop that did my alterations in town (The Sewing Room in Fort Collins--AWESOME place!) were in LOVE with the dress! If you love short dresses, that poofy 1950s/60s look and want to feel like a rock star on your wedding day, go with Dolly Couture! Don't be afraid of ordering online--even though I did have to have some alterations done, you'll probably need to regardless of where you get your dress and the way their staff goes out of their way to make sure you're happy goes ABOVE AND BEYOND my expectations. The dress I ended up with, alterations and all, was 100% custom made, under $1000, and looked like a million bucks. I could NOT be happier with how things turned out. Thanks, Dolly!

I was a little leery of ordering a gown sight unseen, but was very pleased with the result! Dolly's staff is attentive and the dress shipped in the time they said it would. I'm not sure if the tailor or Dolly Couture is to blame, but the dress did have some hanging threads in the lace I noticed the day of the wedding, which was a little disappointing. I got so many compliments on the dress, though!

Dolly couture was great! The dress is amazing quality for a low cost. I purchased the Milan. I got so many compliments and it very comfy. My family was shocked at the reasonable price. It showed up absolutely beautiful in all my pictures too.

Thanks to Dolly Couture, my wedding dress was absolutely perfect for me! The only designer I found who specializes in short 1950s-style wedding dresses, Dolly has a variety of gorgeous styles on her website and in her CA and NY showrooms. After seeing a photo of a custom dress she'd done, I spoke with her about creating a variation of it. For less than I'd budgeted for an off-the-rack-dress, I was able to get married in a unique, custom dress. Dolly and Nickie (Tarzana, CA showroom) were also wonderful about helping me find an LA-local seamstress to make fit adjustments.

Dolly and her staff (Nikki in particular) did a wonderful job on my dress. I couldn't find anything that I loved in a boutique, and they worked with me to create a custom gown that I am completely in love with. Great service and timely response to emails, perfect attention to detail, enjoyed every minute!!

i LOVED my wedding dress. it was so unique and special. not only was it perfect, but it was made to order! they were so wonderful to work with - they measured everything perfectly and the dress fit perfectly and it looked so good. i hope i never have to use them again, but i would in a second! :)

I brought a huge challenge to Dolly and she really met it head on. I asked her to make me a custom ball gown. She specializes in short dresses. After seeing her work in her store I was confident that she would do an amazing job on my dress. It's beautiful...It was perfect...She is amazing!!! Love Dolly and Nickie! It ended up requiring a lot of extra attention on her part and I will never forget her for putting 100% into my dress. I would send anyone to them for anything.
