Dona Doce Custom Cakes and Fine Desserts

ABOUT THE REVIEW BELOW This person below Cris C, never placed an order at Dona Doce Cakes, his friend Kevin did, which is been my client for over a year now and ordered 2 custom cakes in the past. But It will be a pleasure to tell the real story... On nov 18 yesterday, I received a text message at 4:15 pm from my Client Kevin, asking me If I could make him a last minute cake for the next day, Nov 19, we were extremely busy at the bakery, as usual... In consideration, I said yes. His cake was freshly baked at 7:30am the following day and decorated at 2:30 pm on the pick up day, at 12:59pm, Kevin sent me a text message asking how the cake was coming along, been busy with other cakes and no time to text, I just responded it was in the oven... Like I said before his cake was decorated 2:30pm, not to mention his cake was small a 6" x4" size ( 10 servings). Yes, I texted Kevin saying the cake was ready at 4:16pm in case he needed to pick it up a little earlier...They ( Kevin and Cris) came at 4:30pm at the scheduled time, After they left ( I think 30 min) Cris sent me a text message with the picture of the cake all messed up on top, I promptly called him back and he said he was really upset because the flowers of the top of the cake had fall ( Yes, it is not Dona Doce's responsibility of any type of damage caused on the cake after it leaves the shop) kindly, I offered him to bring back the cake so I could fix it, he said he was too far away, he yelled at me on the phone totally out of control and hung up on me. So I decided to text Kevin, my client, who placed the order, this was his response: "Yes I know you tried and it is kinda too far to come back to fix it. I do understand that it CAN happen because my grandmother used to make cake all the times. My friend is quite upset and he can make little thing into big deal. He told me he refuse and forbid to get cake from you apologize for his attitude." Questions: He said after 5 minutes driving, the flowers were falling, 5 minutes he could have come back, or called me, why didn't he?🤔 His friend Kevin paid for the cake NOT HIM! $39.50 ( $3.75 per serving + tax) for a last minute custom made cake, overpriced? It is very important but I had never asked my clients to write a review, yes, all reviews are written by REAL PEOPLE, happy with their experiences. I love what I do and I'm 100% responsible for my business, I meet my clients face to face for all their cake needs, it doesn't matter the size, event or money spent, I give them all the attention they deserve! STAY the HELL away from owner cake maker Paloma from Dona Dolce of Delray BEach , Florida!!! these 5 stars reviews are most likely submitted by them. I am a real customer who PAID for the product. Allow me to tell you : On the outside, Owner cake maker Paloma seems to be nice, but she will not admit her mistakes and error and also LIE about how someone is against her unfairly- We have ordered 3 cakes from this establishment in the past year or so. The first two cakes were OK and Paloma was accommodating, but this third cake was a disaster! We approached her with a design ans asked her IF she could make it, to which she said yes and agreed. We picked up the cake and exchanged pleasantries, but within 5 minutes of driving in the car, the floral decorations began to slide off the top of the cake making a huge disastrous mess. Paloma insisted that it was NOT ANY of her fault and once the cake leaves her warehouse style store, it is no longer her responsibility, to which I completely disagree. THis is her product and she should stand by her workmanship or creation and be accommodating to customers. First of all, the text us to say that cake was in the oven around 2pm and pick up time was 4:30 pm. We are not cake makers and obviously don't know how to make cakes, BUT putting a slippery rasberry gel on the cake surface and then placing the floral arrangements on topp of that slippery substance should be ILLOGICAL and proved to be a fundamentally disastrous error, to which she would not take responsibility for. My 6 year old niece would know not to do such a thing and Paloma is supposed to be a cake maker by trade and this is what she does all day , every day- NOw with such a Bad character flaw, patronizing this company would prove to be disastrous, most especially when the cake is supposedly for an unforgettable event or occassion. you do NOT want any possible PROBLEM to deal with such a bad character. GOd knows what other tricks she has up her long sleeve. Furthermore, her cakes are mediocre at best. For those of you who knows quality, and not just one step up from publix cakes, you know exactly what I am speaking of. ; plus overpriced. Save yourself aggravation, do NOT patronize PAloma Dona Dolce, unless you are suicidal. I prefer to deal with someone more humble and genuinely know how to make a good cake!!

I received my wedding cake as part of the reception package at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Pompano Beach Resort & Spa, and Paloma, from Dona Doce, provided the cake as a partnership with the hotel. Paloma was so nice, and very easy to work with! When I met with her at the cake tasting, she went through the photos of previous cakes she had done, as well as letting me taste all of the cake flavors and fillings available. Not only did the wedding cake taste amazing, but it looked *exactly* like the picture I had given her before! Simply an amazing job, and a wonderful cake. I definitely recommend her!

We used Dona Doce because it was included in our package from our venue. I could not have been happier with my cake!! The design was far more beautiful than I ever imagined it would be. Not to mention it was delicious!!! We purchased a grooms cake as well and got a ton of compliments on the design and taste of our cakes. Thank you!
