Donny Tidmore Photography

Not very professional. Donny did my friends wedding back in November and they have STILL NOT received their pictures. The bride and groom are beyond upset and have reached out multiple times and he has not cared to respond. If you have him booked for a future wedding Unbook him he will not deliver your pictures on time and does not respond to any emails. Wedding pictures are the most important thing to a Bride and Groom and not delivering them on time is a big No. Go else where for wedding pictures. If I could do no stars I would!

Donny photographed our wedding on November 13, 2021 and has yet to deliver our photos to us; even after reaching out to him multiple times. Estimated time to receive our photos was 10 weeks, which would have been January 22, 2022. We paid a lot of money in hopes to get a professional service and that has been the farthest from reality. Hopefully we will receive the photos from our special day. Very disappointed.

Donny is 7.5 weeks late on our wedding photos. We have yet to see a photo from our big day and he has yet to respond to my wife and I's messages. The unprofessionalism is unacceptable. Bride and Grooms beware.

Donny photographed our wedding on 10/16/2021. Since then we have not heard back from Donny at all after our wedding. He has completely ghosted us and we have no pictures from our wedding day. We are 21 weeks past our wedding date and he was contractually obligated to give us our photos back 10 weeks after our wedding. We are extremely disappointed that we do not have any pictures from our special day. Be warned before you book.

Donny photographed our wedding in April of 2021. Our contract stated that the full gallery would be delivered by June 26, 2021. We have reached out repeatedly to Donny in an attempt to receive our wedding photos and have not received a response. We are 3 weeks past our contracted delivery date and 4 months after our wedding and we don't have our wedding gallery. Brides beware.

Ahhh! I just love Donny! He is seriously such an amazing photographer and is SO FUN to work with. I can not recommend him enough.

Just book him already. The search is over; you've found your wedding photographer!! First off, this review is long overdue- sorry Donny! My now-husband and I had a very small, "pandemic-friendly" ceremony (a total of 8 people including us, Donny and the officiant) in late July. We booked Donny last minute and he was so friendly and professional from the beginning. He worked with our vision, schedule, and budget. Since our wedding was small, I wanted to have plenty of photos to share our day with those who weren't there- my expectations were greatly exceeded. He captured so many special moments and it hardly felt like he was there. We got the traditional, "posed" photos and then we did a couples' session after the ceremony where he got a bit more creative at one of our favorite outdoor spots. It was boiling hot! Donny was a real trooper, traipsing around in the woods with us in the July heat. My spouse and I are both awkward and camera-shy but he managed to make us feel so comfortable and natural. I could go on and on but this thing has a character limit so....just book him!

When I say that Donny was one of the best decisions my wife and I made for my wedding, I'm not over-exaggerated. Donny is professional, timely, talented, and, best of all, FUN. Do you want all of your friends and family to fawn over your pictures? Do you want picture after incredible picture of beautifully captured moments? Then you want to hire Donny ASAP. I had a family member warn us about not getting a video of our wedding. After seeing Donny's photos, they rescinded their statement and began to understand our decision-making process. That's how powerful Donny's photos are.

Donny was the best decision we made for our wedding! We had an intimate destination wedding in Austin, and it is not easy planning from a different state. Donny was super helpful with vendor recommendations, and he knew all of the amazing places to take photos. We even had a small hiccup with our reception and couldn't take pictures outside, but he made it work! Our pictures are so beautiful, and he had us laughing and having a great time! I never knew photoshoots could be so fun and relaxed! Book him - you will not be disappointed! Thanks so much for everything Donny!

From planner to bride, this was the best decision ever! As a planner in the wedding industry I have worked with Donny and knew that he was amazing to work with and always provided great quality photos of the couples. I knew right away that he would be the perfect photographer for our wedding.. and .. I was right! He knows how to keep everyone at ease and still get the job done. There are truly no words to describe the talent that is Donnie. My husband and I had a very low key and intimate ceremony and reception and Donnie captured it beautifully. Our pictures were warm and exactly what we wanted. Donnie was kind, on time, easy to work with and a true delight to be around. Look no further for your wedding photographer because you found him! I actually was in a wedding last year where Donny was the photographer and he put everyone at such ease and was so friendly and amazing that I knew he had to be my wedding photographer too! I'm not a natural in front of the camera but he makes you feel like one! His pictures come out amazing and he's really just the coolest guy you could have from taking fun group photos to the intimate ones you have to take with your partner. Could not recommend him enough!

Donny was absolutely incredible. Booking him for our engagement and wedding photos was definitely the best decision we made during the whole process. He is incredibly talented and his photos are breathtaking. He is also just wonderful to work with and be around. He really took the time to get to know us and constantly had us smiling and laughing during every shoot. Book him!

Donny was probably the second vendor I booked after my venue, and I knew he was the one before I even booked that. Not only is his work gorgeous, but he is simply an amazing person to be around! Being involved in a same sex relationship made me a little nervous when reaching out to particular vendors, especially photographers. I wanted someone to capture the day perfectly, and I had been eyeing Donny for MONTHS before reaching out. Donny made me feel so comfortable, and I enjoyed every interaction with him that I had. He worked with my budget and I really felt like he cared about what I wanted and took every effort possible to get to know ny wife and I on a personal level. The day of my wedding, Donny showed up and it felt like I was seeing an old friend again! I thoroughly enjoyed having him at my wedding and, believe it or not, I got compliments from so many people about how fantastic my photographer was! If you’re looking for a photographer, you absolutely NEED Donny. He’s multitalented— all friend, partial wedding planner, and partial photographer! (Just kidding on the wedding planner...although he did organize my poorly planned sparkler sendoff!!) 5 stars doesn’t even do him justice, and your photos will look like you belong in a magazine. That’s a pretty cool part, too;) Thank you for making my day perfect, Donny!

As I'm looking at our final wedding photos by Donny, I'm blown away by the tiny moments that slipped by us. The whole day was a haze of joy and laughter, so I'm incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to relive it all. Donny was incredible to work with. He was very receptive to our ideas and style, and made both me and my husband feel at ease in front of the camera (no small feat for two very awkward and self-conscious people). The whole process of hiring Donny was the least stressful part of wedding planning!

Donny. Is. Amazing. First off, an anxiety my non-binary now-spouse and I had when photographer hunting was finding someone who was LGBTQ+ affirming, given our many visibly queer guests, queer wedding party members, and my spouse themself! A couple of photographers we asked about this responded with somewhat stiff “I don’t make judgments about my clients” lines that did nothing to reassure me that the people closest to us would actually feel safe and comfortable around our photographer —but not Donny. Donny enthusiastically assured us he was affirming and apologized that we even had to ask the question when seeking a photographer. Second, Donny was willing to work with us on pricing to fit our budget, was gracious enough to still include a complementary engagement shoot, and treated us no differently than any other client. Third, Donny himself is so kind, genuine, and laid back that even my very camera avoidant spouse, who was dreading engagement photos, actually ended up enjoying our engagement session and raved about how much they liked Donny. On our wedding day, Donny was such a warm, stable, calm presence and I truly can’t imagine anyone else being there to document our day. Photographers really get such intimate space with you and your wedding parties, and having someone there who I knew would be kind and lovely to all my friends and family as we were getting ready and having meaningful moments together mattered to me a *lot.* And lastly, the photos themselves? Just, holy sh!t, we got our wedding gallery last night and not only are the photos beautifully composed and edited, but really captures the humor, warmth, and joy not just between my spouse and I, but among our artsy, queer, hilarious friends that all came together and made our night a celebration not just of our marriage, but of the chosen family comprised of all our friends. I really can’t say enough good things about Donny—he was exactly the kind of wedding photographer I hoped to find and count myself extraordinarily lucky he was part of our day.

Hiring Donny to be our engagement photographer was the best decision we’ve made for our wedding so far. He traveled over an hour out of town, before hiking up a rock face, just to meet us at our desired location, Enchanted Rock State Park. We were so nervous to be in front of a camera, but within minutes of meeting Donny he had us laughing and feeling completely at ease. Our photo album came out phenomenal and Donny was able to capture the exact style we were going for. If we weren’t having an out of state wedding, Donny would’ve been the first vendor we hired for our big day. We can’t recommend his services enough!

I wanted a photographer whose work was a little darker, more casual, and more unique than most wedding photographers I'd seen. Looking through Donny's work, I was sold! He also worked with us financially and time wise and that was a huge relief. We met him in San Marcos for our engagement shoot. It was boiling hot and we were nervous. We cracked a beer to calm our nervous and walked Donny around where we met. He was so calm and easy going that our nerves were gone quickly. We all talked and took pictures. He even got in the water with us! It didn't feel like a photo shoot. Our engagement photos came back in a timely manner and were gorgeous. The day of our wedding, he was phenomenal. He took tons of pictures and made sure I got all the "shots" I wanted. During the ceremony, I literally didn't even see him taking pictures. He was a hoot during the reception and most of my family and friends complimented him about how involved and friendly he was during the celebration. He even took a picture with me in the photo booth! The thing I cannot stress enough is how stunning this man's work is! My wedding photos are like something from a magazine - they are amazing! Everyone who has seen them are shook and I get tons of compliments on them. He caught so moments that I didn't see or realize were happening and it was great to see in photographs. I will cherish these forever. Another thing I want to say is how friendly and how terrific Donny's personality is throughout every second of your journey. He is funny, kind, and fun! My husband and I adore Donny and I cannot say enough about him. If you are looking for one of a kind photos, Donny Tidmore is the absolute best.

We needed a photographer who was comfortable with flash photography because our venue was very dark. Donny was not only very skilled, he was patient, worked with our budget and schedule, was very transparent and communicative. Donny loves what he does, and we feel lucky to have found him!!! We will be calling him again!

I cannot praise and recommend Donny enough. He was an absolute joy to work with! From our first phone call, through the planning process, engagement photos, and the actual wedding, he was extremely courteous, professional, and made us feel at ease. Amanda and I were thrilled with Donny and his work. We presented him with an unusual assignment—a middle aged couple who were eloping in West Texas and were only going to be in Austin for a couple of days before heading out. He knocked it out of the park! He made a great suggestion for locale and was there early planning some shots when we drove up. As a serious hobbyist photographer I have a keen eye for lighting and composition and I couldn’t be happier with what Donny accomplished on a single cloudy and dreary afternoon. He is very pleasant and affable as well, and clearly loves his craft. I would hire him again in an instant!

We cannot emphasize it enough. Donny Tidmore is the most down to earth, transparent, friendly and funny guy. We couldn’t have gone with a better photographer. He was so easy to chat with and get to know. Talk detail, concerns, and share your vision with him. He’s all ears and wants to help you! No other photographer we spoke to made us feel secure the way he did. He did an absolute amazing job on our engagement and wedding photos. He’s wicked talented and called to this. What an excellent photographer! He made us feel comfortable and he captured photos that are truly beautiful and show the love that we have for each other. He helped us pick a location that was magical with natural light, and was close to us! 10 out of 10!!!!!

Selecting vendors for your wedding can be so stressful especially for someone picky and indecisive like myself. I was so relived to have found Donny. He took all my worries away. I love his style, the colors, and the general feel. It was perfect for our woodsy nature wedding. Also, he worked so hard throughout the whole day. Our family is wild and he did his absolute best to get all the pictures we requested. I'm so happy with the final products and recommend him to everyone that tells me they are getting married!

Donny’s work immediately captured my eye while scrolling through “wedding photographers in Austin, TX”. The quality of his work is immediately obvious and I loved that there was a story present in each photo I looked at. But here’s the lowdown on what may not be immediately obvious: 1. Donny really wants to make sure he is capturing the couple. He coordinates promptly through email, phone calls, questionnaires, face to face meetings, whatever method! You name it! He asks questions to figure out what your couple style is and puts in an effort to make sure he gets it. He also has recommendations on locations in case you haven’t exactly nailed it down. 2. Donny puts your mind at ease. My (now) husband and I are not at all experienced in front of a camera and are actually camera shy. Donny gets you to loosen up and helps cue you into making the most beautiful photos. The complimentary engagement photo session is extremely helpful! Even as the big day approached, a phone call to him was all it took to relax and know that the day would turn out perfectly! 3. Donny’s services are reasonably priced! For the quality of his work and the time and care he puts into his finished product, his pricing is SO worth it! And his turnaround time is efficient! 4. Donny was always early on location. He would scout out the locale and figure out where the best light was to shoot. He was flexible with timing and was also able to work with and produce beautiful moments out of a not so beautiful backdrop (think, parking lot side lot). We can not recommend Donny any more highly! He truly is a gifted photographer, and captured our day even more perfectly than imaginable!

SO happy we had our engagement photos taken by Donny and only wish he had our wedding day available! As a hobbyist photographer it was so important to me that I find someone who could capture those real, genuine moments in the kind of location that I myself would want to shoot at, and he definitely delivered. We were so initially very nervous and didn’t know what to expect but Donny immediately put us at ease, my fiancé even commenting on how fun it was afterwards. (Didn’t expect that, lol!) Our photos turned out both beautiful and timeless and we couldn’t be happier!

My Wife and I loved our entire experience with Donny. He’s not only a great photographer but also a great person. He makes taking pictures easy and effortless. I first met Donny when he was the photographer at my brothers wedding.  I liked the way he interacted with our families and the pictures were amazing. Luckily Donny was available to be the photographer for my wedding especially since our wedding n reception were in different locations (Corpus Christi and Rockport, Tx.) What I love most about our engagement and wedding photos is that they were simply different.  Our engagement photos had an urban feel to them and were different from the typical pose of a couple standing in front of a cheesy wooden fence instead we were able to take a pic in front of a mural of the singer Prince. Seriously how cool is that! Our wedding photos no words can describe how I feel when I look at them.  He was able to take pics at the church,  the bar I met my husband at on St. Patrick's day which is the day we got married 15 yrs later, a rental beach house and our reception hall.  I would also like to saythat he kept his composure during the ceremony when the priest pointed out his bald head lol. Donny's work is to put simply is AMAZING. He makes you feel at ease and will make you laugh and cry when you are taking your photos that capture the love you feel for husband and he for you forever.

Donny is the best photographer and we feel extremely fortunate that he was able to capture our special day and engagement. Choosing Donny was something we were as sure of as, as we were in choosing to spend the rest of our lives with each other. My now husband and I had a few things in mind when we were looking for a photographer for our wedding. We love photo-journalistic-type, think outside the box, real/raw photos. We found that and so much more in Donny. We were in love with Donny's style which consisted of truly capturing THE moment and the ability to feel the emotion through his photography is absolutely real. He made us feel completely comfortable and that allowed us to be ourselves completely so he could do his job. Our engagement shoot was perfect and with Donny's sense of humor, he made it so much fun! Donny Tidmore is by far one of the most talented photographers I’ve ever met. From the very beginning I knew I was in great hands. I went into our first meeting with a vision and boy did he produce! The photo sessions were stress free and he had so many great ideas. Not to mention he’s so much fun to work with! Donny is a incredibly gifted artist and he will forever be our go to photographer.

We were so happy we worked with Donny for our wedding! He was willing to work within our budget and made great recommendations to get the most value for our money. We found him on Craigslist after talking to other photographers who were already booked, too expensive or too hard to contact. We looked at his website and knew immediately he was the one! We like a little more modern style of photography and had a few not-so-traditional requests, and he made it happen. My husband and I are both camera shy, but we felt so comfortable with Donny; like he was just another friend at our wedding. He captured amazing, timeless images, and we plan on working with him again in the future! Thank you, Donny!

From start to finish, I knew Donny was the one as much as I knew my now husband is the one! He initially came to our neighborhood and was very helpful in his presentation of what he brings to the table. His prices are also very reasonable for the amount of time and talent he puts into each frame. Donny was very patient and inventive with our engagement photos. After our original site was flooded, he was able to roll with the punches and really turned a frown upside down. The day of our wedding went smashingly well and that was due in part to Donny's presence. He never pushed us to do anything typical and was very go with the flow which is what we wanted. As a result he captured our day perfectly and ALL of our guests had nothing, but great things to say about him throughout the day and evening. We're lucky we found him on instagram and now have a photographer buddy out of the process. I can't recommend him enough for your special day!

Words can not describe how grateful I am to this man and his talent. Donny was the best thing to happen to us during the wedding process. I found him by total chance on Craigslist and as soon as I saw his Instagram fell in love with his point of view. This is not your typical wedding photography, but if it's your style, you will not be disappointed. Our engagement session was a blast and has amazing shots we will cherish forever. The day of our wedding, he showed up super early and did an amazing job keeping me calm and collected during some changes due to unpredictable weather that made the aesthetic of our ceremony very different. He coordinated with my other vendors and crazy family beautifully. Our photos came back very quickly (about a month) which is incredible for the industry/from what I've heard, and especially incredible considering I got married in November right before the holidays. He did such a great job, my sister in law hired him for her wedding 4 months later! (I think he's actually part of our family now?) I hope I have another reason to utilize his services later in life, but for now, I will recommend him to anyone that will listen! If you are lucky enough to work with him, I'm sure he will be your favorite part of your wedding too. Besides your spouse, I guess.

Let me start by saying that we found Donny through an Instagram ad and the second I saw his work, I knew he was the photographer us. Donny thoughtfully kept in touch while not overwhelming us with questions or calls, which as a planning Bride I greatly appreciated. We gave him a couple of simple instructions and he blew us away with his work! We were given a sneak peak photo the same weekend of our wedding and a blog post with about 20 photos was sent to us while we were still on our honeymoon! Donny is such a fun guy to work with and completely relaxed. Go with him!!
