She knows how to do tricks with makeup and work with your unique features in ways that other artists do not. I told Dawn both my likes and dislikes about makeup, as well as features I wanted to emphasize or de-emphasize. She was able to make my small, close-set eyes look bigger and farther apart with her skills and knowledge of trompe l’oeil from showbiz. The texture of my skin was totally on-point. I’ve gone to makeup artists before who’ve made my skin look and feel strange like clay. Dawn doesn’t need to resort to retexturizing a person’s face. Instead, she makes their skin look like beautiful skin, both up close and for the camera!! I’m mentioning this because it was so important to me that I had an amount of coverage I was comfortable with. Dawn was an expert at this. She was an expert at achieving balance everywhere. I felt so beautiful and happy with Dawn’s work overall. It was just right, and most importantly, my eyes popped! She took the time during my trial to explore the look I wanted. I booked her right then and there when we were done. During both the trial and the Day-Of, the client is Dawn’s precious canvas, and she is gentle and meticulous and lively and professional. I felt like a star in her chair. I looked more beautiful than I could have hoped for! My 68-year-old mother looked revitalized and stunning, and my sister-in-law, exquisite. Dawn was able to harness the beauty of three different women in three different ways based on the looks we asked of her (she listens) and based on her expertise (she has the incredible skill to execute these visions). Dawn also has an awesome personality!! She’s very intelligent and respectful and is a lot of fun to work with. She is very personable! She is extremely punctual (so important on the day-of!!!). She is a team player---she kept on applying makeup flawlessly when the makeup room became chaotic after many people entered and a few conditions changed without our knowledge. All in all, Dawn is an incredible makeup artist and one of my best wedding decisions!!! I highly recommend Dontinelle Beauty!!!
