My husband and I booked Deeba for our wedding and we were so comfortable working with him. This was both our first times working with a professional photographer and we felt very comfortable working with Deeba. He directed us into poses which was very helpful. The photos turned out incredible and we are so thrilled with how many photos he provided.
I did a LOT of research before choosing Deeba Yavrom at Donya Photography. My husband has been in a lot of weddings and was not excited about being posed or doing cheesy things for photos, so we needed someone with a more natural style. I loved Deeba's documentary-style, photojournalistic photography immediately. He excels at capturing beautiful, natural moments and expressions. He also has an incredible eye for light and composition. Our wedding photos are just beautiful shot after beautiful shot. Our families are having an impossible time choosing photos to frame, because they are ALL so good!
Leading up to the wedding, he was easy to communicate with and very flexible as we had to make changes to our venue and plans due to COVID-19. No complaints at all, would hire him again in a heartbeat!
We booked Donya Photography for an anniversary photo shoot in DC and he was professional, made us feel comfortable, and most of all gave us some great photos to remember our vacation celebration!
I would definitely recommend him to others and I would book him again if we were planning another event in the DC area.
Deeba was an excellent photographer who managed to take just the kind of photos I wanted - mainly beautiful candid shots and a few lovely portraits. I really wanted photos that captured the day - particularly good photos of our many guests who travelled a long way to attend - and got just what I wanted. My husband and I are quite awkward about being photographed so we were really pleased when we found our favorite photo of us together among the many candids!
Finding the right photographer for my wedding was a huge priority for me. I browsed TheKnot, looked up my friend's wedding photographers, and even ventured onto Craigslist. I wanted someone that would capture the moments, not set us up in awkward poses and snap away. I was so pleasantly surprised when I came across Deeba's portfolios online. Everything looked perfect. We had Deeba take our engagement photos and were super pleased with how they turned out. He did not disappoint at the wedding either. Captured some AMAZING shots that me and my family will cherish for the rest of our lives, you kinda can't repay someone for that. Speaking of payment, way affordable. I wanted a custom package, and he designed a package that fit my needs and budget. Will definitely be using Deeba in the future!
Deeba photographed our wedding and we could not be happier with the results. In fact, Deeba exceeded our expectations. The formal photos were handled orderly and efficiently (also, we all look fly). My husband and I were more interested in the candid shots and Deeba and his second shooter, Luke, did not disappoint. The photos capture how the day really felt to us along as well as reveal moments that we did not personally get to witness while fulfilling our bride-groom mingling duties. Deeba managed to get tons of great shots without being intrusive -- we hardly noticed he was there! Considering the very reasonable price and the incredible quality of the photos, I don't know why one would hire a different photography service. Thanks, Deeba!
We looked at a large number of photographer's work prior to booking, and we were struck by how fantastic all of Deeba's work was (which seemed to me one of the most crucial steps in choosing a photographer). We were planning from afar, so we had to work through email and phone, and he was prompt to respond and was flexible enough to help us put together a package that worked for us. The day of the wedding he and his 2nd shooter were fantastic - they were quick, organized, worked with my maid of honor to make sure everything on my "must shoot" list got taken care of, and during the ceremony and party took tons of amazing photographs all without being obtrusive (a thing that drives me bonkers at most weddings). We got the edited photos back within the quite reasonable time frame agreed to in our contract, and they were all absolutely fantastic. Deeba was a pleasure to work with, I'd happily recommend him to anyone.
Deeba of Donya Photography was wonderful; he worked with us during the entire wedding planning process. We did a destination wedding in San Francisco, and it was hard to find vendors in the area, without being able to be in California and meet anyone in person. We picked Donya based on the online reviews, his website photo gallery, and just the ease of communication during the planning process. He was familiar with the area and understood the general feel of what we wanted on our wedding day. After talking with him for months in advance, it was already a comfortable experience, even though we had just met in person on the wedding day. Sometimes a whole day of photos can feel like a lot of work; we had a big group and 4 different locations, but Deeba was so flexible and so easy going, that it all went so smooth. Once we got the photos, I was amazed at all that he captured. We lucked out with perfect weather and the golden gate bridge as our backdrop…but I am just so happy that we found Deeba, he really made the wedding day so special. Photography is such a big part of the wedding plans and the day couldn’t have gone better.
Deeba’s wedding photography was amazing! This was the very first time I have ever worked with a professional photographer. I read all the guidance on the wedding sites about selecting a wedding photographer. I spent hours investigating wedding photographers web sites and referencing reviews and wedding site rankings. Ultimately, the deciding factor for me was trust. Arguably, one of the most important decisions for your wedding is the photographer. After all the joyous wedding moments have past by so quickly, you have the photography to remind you of the great times. You want to be able to trust that the photographer will capture those fleeting moments for you majestically. Deeba achieved this masterfully. From our very first consultation, Deeba was professional and clearly distinguished his photojournalistic style. During the engagement photo shooting, we built a rapport with Deeba. Deeba is very easy to work with and through collaboration we were able to capture the perfect engagement photo for our wedding invitations. Deeba was even better during our wedding. He was able to capture the precious moments seamlessly without being intrusive. He was also very flexible with our chaotic schedule and on-the-fly demands. My wife is art school trained as a photographer and during our wedding she requested some shots. Deeba was adept at accommodating the requests and took some spectacular photos. My favorite photos from the wedding our ones where I didn’t even know they were being taken by Deeba. He has the talent to recognize a special moment intuitively and capture it in a photo idyllically. Many of our family and friends complimented us on our wedding photos and thank you cards which featured five of our favorite photographs. Overall, I highly recommend Deeba for his professionalism, unique photographic “eye”, and for capturing our timeless wedding memories masterfully.
Everybody seems to know a wedding photographer. But most of them fit into the categories of either A) Super expensive or B) So mediocre that you might as well just ask your Uncle Bob to bring his camera. Donya Photography is that rare type that is not outrageously expensive, but the photos are still outrageously beautiful.
Deeba and his second shooter, Aysha, did an excellent job of capturing our wedding. Deeba has a talent for capturing candid moments perfectly. He really seems more like a photo journalist than a wedding photographer. It is quite special to have pictures with genuine emotions, smiles, and interactions. He was also really great with the posed shots he did with just me and my husband. He had an eye for the perfect locations and situations. I felt like he really captured the dynamic between us and made us look great. He is not as enthused to do group posed pictures. He will kindly do anything you request, but you have to ask - he is not going to go out of his way to make sure there is a shot of you posed with your great aunt so and so unless you request it.
I highly recommend Donya Photography. Not only is Deeba professional and talented, but he is also warm and kind which makes it an added pleasure to work with him.
Finding a wedding photographer can be a daunting task, but look no further. Deeba created so many lasting memories of our wedding day in August 2010. He and his second photographer, Musa, were so professional, had calming demeanors and were easy to work with. At times, you forgot they were there because they were never in the way or overbearing, but together they got every important shot we asked for. He is not into “posey” photos, but prefers more candid, real moments, which is exactly what were looking for. I appreciated the teaser photos Deeba sent us after the wedding to keep us satisfied until he could edit and organize the remaining shots. Overall, I would definitely recommend Donya Photography for any important event in your life. The prices were extremely fair and the quality was more than we could ask for.
We had a pretty large weddingin San Francisco about a year ago and we hired Deeba from Donya Photography to shoot it for us. He came on with a second shooter and what mattered to us the most was not having photographers to come in and think its their wedding. Deeba was nothing like that.. He was very amicable, kind and friendly, but definitely a hard worker, that was easy to see. Whenever we would look up, he'd be shooting something and as someone who is paying for a service, you really appreciate that. His photos were fantastic btw. He has a great sense of timing and making things look pretty, getting these shots that we never even imagined. Our photos are just a large set of laughter and great times, and were happy to have these photos to look back on when were older.
Hiring a wedding photographer was a pain for us, since we would interview and interview but we never clicked with anyone. We met Deeba at a nearby Starbucks and really got along well with him. He's a nice guy, with a strong professional photography background which we really appreciated. Part of the problem was we would interview people who call themselves photographers, but didn’t have the photos to back it up. Deeba did. We hired him and he took care of the rest. He came to our wedding, took god knows how many pictures since it always looked like he was snapping away, and honestly we are sooooo happy with the photos he gave us. I guess what I liked the most was how seamless it all was, and for those who are planning their weddings themselves, the less stress factors you have, the better.
He also wasn’t pushy or overbearing. He swore that he's nt that type at the wedding, which concerned me because I thought you needed to be to get great shots, but that wasn’t the case at all. Deeba was what he calls to be “a fly on the wall” and as a result, took some awesome photographs when none of us were even paying attention. Also his shots of just my hubby and I were like pairings, we loved 'em!
Donya Photography photographed my best friends wedding this past Spring, and he was AMAZING. Deeba at Donya Photography was by far the most down to Earth and accessible photographer I've ever come in contact with. Being the M.O.H. it was my duty to be in correspondence with all of the vendors and Deeba was a Godsend. He responded in a timely manner and always with the enthusiasm and compassion that is so appreciated during those hectic times. His pictures were breathtaking and captured moments that were so precious your heart stills a little when you look at them. I cannot say enough wonderful things, I would recommend Deeba and Donya Photography 1,000 times over!!! THANK YOU DEEBA!!!
Deeba photographed our wedding in Oct 2011 and man did he go the extra distance for us. We had an early wedding ceremony and the bride and groom (me) were separated in different hotels. We were not on location because we were being chartered in by bus to the church. Deeba was able to work with the not only the charter bus schedule but able to time the distance between hotels to get all the shots.
Very laid back yet still professional! His shots are less artsy which my wife and I preferred and he did a great job capturing some nice moments during the reception like the conga line which he had to participate in. Haha. :)
Donya photographed our small wedding in July 2010. We loved the pics on his website and felt they had a very photo-journalistic quality, which is what we were looking for. We asked him to be a "photographer at our wedding" instead of a "wedding photographer" and he did just that! He captured the most beautiful candid moments. Nearly every shot we were given (over 300) were beautifully framable. We also had some posed shots to please the family and those worked well, also. Deeba was super professional, always responsive, dressed appropriately for the occasion, and truly, I don't even remember seeing him shooting beyond the posed portraits! He just stealthily captured little, intimate moments! We get so many compliments on our photos, even now two years later (they're on our Facebook page.) Would highly recommend Deeba at Donya Photography!
Deeba did a great job! The pictures look great, and he was able to accommodate our tight schedule. We did our ceremony in the early afternoon, took our wedding pics, and then went straight into the reception and dinner.
His style tends to be a bit more candid, less posy, which I really liked. What I appreciated most was the "seamlessness" of the experience...and what I mean by that is that he didn't really take over the wedding to get the shot. I absolutely detest it when photographers hijack a wedding, and get in the way of the actual event. My wedding was way memorable, and went just as I wanted it to go. No awkward moments where the photographer elbows his way into the aisle as I'm walking down. :)
Deeba was recommended to us by a friend of mine who's wedding Deeba was the photographer for. He gave a stellar recommendation so we called him right away.
One of the very first things Deeba told us was he did not like to do the typical "posey" wedding pictures. He liked to capture real moments happening rather than asking people to stand and smile. Which is one thing we really liked. We were both camera shy, and impatient when we are made to pose.
He is very discrete while he is working. He likes to try and stay behind the scenes and you would almost forget that he is there, but still manages to get all the shots he needs to get. That said, he is very courteous. When my wife had her brief "bridezilla" moment he was nice enough not to take pictures of that situation and waited patiently until she snapped out of it.
We would also like to commend him for dressing appropriately, we have seen photographers that would come in jeans and t-shirt which kinda ruins the mood if your going for an elegant formal event.
After the wedding Deeba was extremely quick getting the photos edited and sent out to us. Which was perfect because we were able to inform him of some revisions we would like for him to do, which again he dealt with quickly.
We highly recommend Deeba Yavrom. And would hire him in a heartbeat if ever we need a professional photographer again.
