Great place to block rooms for a wedding at the Collingswood Grand Ballroom. It is only a 10 minute drive on a back road.
I found Robin Bee at the Cherry Hill Crowne Plaza very accommodating and easy to work with when it came to blocking rooms for my out of town guests for our recent wedding weekend. She was responsive to all emails and phone calls. The rooms were ready on time, early check in requests were honored, welcome bags distributed, signs posted for guest transportation to the wedding venue, and the lounge stayed open past regular closing time as I had requested so that there could be an "after party" following the wedding reception. The rooms at the Crowne Plaza could use a little work, the towels and bedding in serious need of upgrading, as are the bathrooms, but the rooms were clean and comfortable. Some have amazing views of the Cooper River and the Philly skyline.
We scheduled a brunch at the Crowne Plaza on the morning following the wedding in a private room and it was excellent. We added an omelet station to the All American Breakfast option and it was well worth it. Diane, the catering manager provided professional and courteous service to my guests and was there the entire time to make sure all went well. Really appreciated that.
The rooms in the block will sometimes magically disappear, but the rooms are really nice and they are super affordable.
I had my wedding here last November. It was fine, but I'm not sure the hassle was worth the price. If someone asked me if I'd recommend it, I'd probably say no.
Pros:
Can hold a large quantity of people at a decent price.
Cons:
The wedding consultant Cheryl is non-existant. I tried to get ahold of her leading up to and after the wedding and it was impossible. I ended up calling the Crowne Plaza headquarters to get my issues resolved.
They ran out of beer at the reception.
They didn't do things I specifically requested.
I could probably write a novel on the wedding itself. Overall, we had a good day. It was our wedding after all :) Could things have been better - yes. If they had a better wedding coordinator, I would probably give it more stars. Cheryl was impossible to get ahold of and it made the entire process very frustrating.
Any questions?
I had my wedding here last month and it was amazing, from the service, food, timing, everything went perfect! I could not of been a happier bride! Thank you to Cheryl, Roger and the whole staff who made my day a dream come true :)

I had been to the Crowne Plaza for a gathering or two, and they used to have a comedy club which was also me and my husband's first date. When we got engaged, we went over the guest list a few times, trying to figure out how many people we would need to invite, and there were a LOT (however, when we got the actual numbers of people coming, it was a bit less than projected). When thinking and researching where to have the event, trying to find somewhere in budget, was very hard, and then I remembered the Crowne Plaza and the beautiful room. When I asked for more information, I expected the prices to be sky high, and to be honest, with EVERYTHING that the price included, it was probably the best deal around. The price included the room, a 5 hour open bar, the food, the cocktail hour, desserts, the cake, a bridal suite for the night before the wedding and the night of the wedding, and a cocktail hour in the bridal suite for the wedding party. Because our guest list dropped considerably, we were credited the money, (you need a 16000 bev/food minimum) so we added things on to the reception to make the wedding even better! We added a mashed potato bar, a champagne bar, seat covers, and an ice cream bar. The other really great thing was that they discounted the hotel rooms for our guests, and left a set on the block open for the night of the wedding (should a guest decide that they wanted to stay, when they had originially planned to go home that night, they were able to get the discounted price too). The food was fantastic, and to be honest, I thought the staff was really accommodating. Our head server constantly watched to make sure my husband and I ate, asked if we had needed anything, and were never too far if we had a problem. We ended up having a wedding crasher, but a family member asked him to leave (I didn't see the guy the entire night, but everyone else did!) The reviews here are right, Cheryl did not always respond as quickly as needed, but that really is our only complaint! Throughout the entire process though, it was "whatever they could do for us" which was huge. We had a guest who is a big trip advisor reviewer, and saw reviews of the Crowne Plaza which were not fantastic, and by the end of the night he was raving about how amazing everything really was!
If you get the opportunity to have your wedding at the Riverside Pavilion, it is not an opportunity to miss!
I wanted my wedding to be "Simply beautiful and Elegant" and it was. The best room to have an opulent wedding ceremony is definitely the Riverside room. The ceiling is adorned with beautiful drapery and chandiliers!! Ask for Cheryl Latvala, who is the Director of Catering, she will help make all of your dreams come true too.
Riverside Pavilion was beautiful and had plenty of space! You got a lot of great service with the price including bridal suite for 2 nights and cake from Classic Cakes! Plus, many additional upgrades to choose from to make the day more custom. The outdoor patio was not available on our wedding day like we had hoped. Wedding coordinator was very nice yet not always available. Food service the night of the wedding could have been faster.
Despite the lack of communication between the event coordinator (Cheryl) and myself due to Cheryl's limited hours, my wedding still was amazing in the Riverside Pavilion. Cheryl doesn't have a good turn around time when it comes to answering questions and following up. Other than that, she was very personable and did a great job noting what my husband and I wanted at our wedding. The venue looked just the way we wanted and we were so happy! The Riverside Pavilion already had enough elegance to the room with the beautiful chandeliers; so, it really took very little to make the room look stunning. The food was delicious and the waiters of the evening were on top of their game.
I booked the Crowne Plaza to have our wedding Coctails and reception at their location in Cherry Hill NJ for me and my husband met there in 2002. We booked in November with the director of catering and she was more than helpful from the start. She advised us of all the diffrent options that we had regarding the food, diffrent ball rooms, hotel accomadations for ours guests, lighting, seating arrangement, etc. When we called and left a message, we werer always granbted a return call with all questions asked.
On our wedding day, the pastor did not show up, because he just "forgot", and the director of catering and my wedding planner worked together to find a pastor to marry us on our special day. The Crowne Plaza in Cherry Hill is the best and I would recommend this location to anyone holding a special event.
Also, the staff was extremely friendly. The hotel itsef was very clean and our stay was beautiful. I give this hotel a 10.
While the staff was a little lax during the planning stages, as long as you stay on them it is fantastic! The Riverside Ballroom makes for a truly fairytale reception. Loved it and would highly recommend it!
