We couldn't have asked for a better venue or team for our wedding. From our very first conversation through the wedding day itself, the staff at the DoubleTree exceeded every expectation.
Planning our wedding wasn't exactly straightforward: we had an unusual travel situation, a partially virtual tour, countless questions, and a very large group of guests. Through it all, Samantha and the entire team were responsive, organized, and incredibly patient. No matter how many emails or requests we sent their way, we always felt like we were in great hands.
What really set this team apart was the genuine care they showed us and our guests. They accommodated family members with accessibility and dietary needs without hesitation, let us choose our suite months in advance, made sure every last detail was taken care of, and even went above and beyond by delivering our marriage license. It felt like they truly wanted our wedding to be as special as we did.
A special thank you to Michael, the night front desk manager. After the reception, he somehow managed our very enthusiastic (and admittedly loud) group with professionalism, kindness, and good humor. He kept everyone happy while making sure we respected the hotel and the other guests, and somehow kept us supplied with enough warm cookies to fuel our entire bridal party. He was outstanding.
Our wedding was everything we dreamed it would be, and the DoubleTree team played a huge part in making that happen. If you're considering this hotel for your wedding, we recommend it without hesitation. The level of care, attention to detail, and hospitality is exceptional. Superb - it's located on the water and the abby has easy in and out access, perfect for weddings, even in the winter!
Splendid - from the first meeting with Rylie to the emails and meetings with Samantha, and our meal tasting with the chef, it was just a joy to interact with everyone!
Exceptional - the day of, 8/14/26, everyone knew the game plan and had a few more helpful tips and tricks to make the day so relaxing for the both of us and all of our guests!
If we could financially swing it, we'd plan another wedding or event here in a heartbeat! How wonderful it is to know we can plan a return once a year on our anniversary and give everyone a big hug and our forever gratitude. ey were super easy to deal even with our circumstances. The hotel at our venue unexpectedly shut down prior to our event, and the double tree took us and our guests in and contacted all of our guests about their new accommodations. The double tree definitely helped alleviate the stress of all of that.

The two nights our guests stayed went off without a hitch. Our out of town guests were pleased with their rooms, and the wonderful views from the hotel. ote, I was more than impressed. I worked with Riley from January 2024-June 2025 before her maternity leave, and she was incredibly helpful, responsive, knowledgeable and the just the sweetest! I sent about 1000 emails with questions! When Riley went on leave, I started working with Samantha and she was equally as impressive! We nailed down all the little details leading up to our wedding day. The night before, Nolan was a part of our set up crew, and he was very helpful and willing to make changes in our seating arrangements in real time. Come the day of, Sam and Kayla were around at all times to help with anything and everything! The waitstaff and bartenders were incredible as well. Our guests were very impressed with the food and drinks, as well as the venue itself. I would recommend DoubleTree a thousand times over for any event!

They even waited to bring myself and my husband’s meal until we were finished talking to each of our guests so it was fresh and hot. The food was delicious and each of our guests raved about it. Riley Carter was everything we could have asked for and more in an event coordinator. She didn’t miss a beat on anything, answered every question, and helped guide us every step of the way. The rooms were very clean and staff was very friendly. We also gave out gift bags to our guests and the staff was very helpful with this and made sure all of our guests got them! I highly recommend staying here and or having your wedding here! The only reason we didn't have our wedding here is because we had to many guests attend and the capacity didn't fit everyone, but if we had smaller numbers I would have loved to have our special day here!

On the day before our wedding we were able to set up and Riley was on hand to help with anything we needed. During the wedding, we had a guest with a cake allergy, without hesitation she got an ice cream in place of the cake for the guest to enjoy. The venue itself was clean and beautiful and every single staff member was kind, helpful and willing to go above and beyond!

you are getting married and need a place to get ready, book the deluxe suites with water view! And your hotel block! The rooms are so spacious and the views are absolutely breathtaking with the bridge and water in the background.
And I cannot say enough great things about the sales manager Riley! She helped me for months with all of my questions and concerns and she is even nicer in person. Our block of rooms kept filling up and she assured me she would do the work to get more. She also helped get us transportation to and from the hotel and venue with the shuttle service they use. Her and the entire staff at doubletree port Huron was amazing. We will definitely be back in the future 😊

o thought I’d start with them. From the first to last time(which was finally face to face the wedding weekend) Riley was fabulous! She was extremely helpful and always professional! Anytime I would email or call her she would respond within the hour usually. And it didn’t stop with Riley. From the front desk staff, to housekeeping, they all had smiles and friendly greetings. The bridal suite and king suite where my son was we’re both roomy and so clean, as we’re all the rooms! And their restaurant within the hotel, Freighters, was delicious! On top of all this the view of Lake Huron and the Bluewater Bridge is all remarkable! This hotel is a gem!

Getting to work with Riley was seriously the best. She was very responsive in her emails & was more than willing to answer all of my questions. If it wasn't for her, I truly don't think the day would have been as great as it was. While I am so happy to be now be married, it is a little bittersweet that I don't get to work with Riley anymore. Riley, you are such a kind soul & we truly cannot thank you enough for everything you did for us to make our day that much better.

setup but Riley was awesome and able to get to the bottom of the issue and had it all fixed before we released it to our guests! Sarah was great to communicate with to get the contract setup. It was easy to extend the block once the first group of rooms was booked. Check in and out was very easy for us and all our guests and they helped direct our guests to the shuttle. Rooms are very clean and well kept. Beds were also very comfortable after a very long day! The suite was perfect for our whole wedding party to get ready in - lots of space. Thankful that Doubletree was a part of our big day, and those cookies, yum!
Prices are a little high, especially if converting to Canadian and do wish there was a breakfast included but these are small things that don’t affect the great stay we had!

h us and each other. The venue is so beautiful multiple people came up to us and told us what a great venue we chose. The entire staff would offer to help or ask us what we need. Justin, was there to lend a helping hand both during set up and clean-up. We received many compliments on the food, we went with plated braised beef and chicken marsala. The pricing was was very reasonable for all you get. I agree with another review that suggested you pay the upcharge for Mac and Cheese. Many of the guests took advantage of the walkway along the water and other amenities. We had blocks of rooms and everyone I spoke with was thrilled their room. I would recommend next time that everyone pay a little extra for the a view of the water and either book in the block or directly through the hotel and not an outside site. Honestly, Riley and the rest of the staff made what can sometimes be a stressful day relaxed and carefree. The venders they recommended were top notch as well. The bar staff made sure that our guests didn't have to wait long for drinks. They had two bars set up one inside and one outside. I have another wedding to host in the next year or two and I would love it if they picked this location too. I highly recommend this venue for a wedding and receptions.

nd it didn't come back on until the day after our wedding. However, that didn't stop Sarah and her team! They rallied all their local contacts, worked with multiple caterers, borrowed generators and equipment from other DJs and got everything together to the point that you really didn't notice that that there was no power. A lot of other venues would have just told us that we were out of luck, but I cannot begin to describe how amazing this team was in making sure this "act of god" didn't stop our special day. It was such a pleasure working with Sarah over the two years we were engaged. She always went out of her way to answer my many questions and was really flexible and willing to customize our experience to meet our needs. The venue was absolutely beautiful, multiple guests and vendors also told us the food was the best wedding food they'd ever had. I love these people and we will be returning to the Double Tree in the future to relive our special day and say hello to Sarah. Book now. You won't be disappointed.

tive, quick to respond and paid attention to every single detail. The venue truly speaks for itself. The grounds are stunning with the water and the bridge. The hotel is beautiful with the gold chandeliers and all the natural lighting. The hotel staff was also SO accommodating. The bridal party got a noise complaint at the end of the night after the wedding was over, so the hotel staff put some tables together downstairs away from other rooms with fresh cookies and waters and said “let us know if you need anything else, enjoy!” Still so unbelievably overwhelmed with how perfect our day was. Highly, highly recommend this venue and team!!

Before the big day, Sarah was efficient with answering all and any questions we had leading up to it and was super helpful when we asked for suggestions on certain aspects. The venue itself is incredibly beautiful. We received many compliments from our guests saying so themselves. The overlook of the St. Clair River during the ceremony was even more gorgeous than we imagined. It was just overall a beautiful day. The only problem we encountered was that dinner appeared to be a little behind and we had to push back the start of the first/formal dances a bit, but it all worked out and didn't put a damper on the day. I will say for dinner, add the House Made Mac & Cheese!!! Just do it. You won't regret it. A month after our wedding, we still have friends and family talking about how good the Mac & Cheese was. Heck, we still talk about it ourselves too. In the end, we have absolutely no regrets choosing DoubleTree - Port Huron to host our wedding and we would recommend them to anyone looking for a venue for their special day and to highly take them into consideration!

and during our stay. The suites were the perfect size for our bridal party - spacious enough to have 15 girls and the hair and makeup team get ready the morning of the wedding. We were able to have our first look on the patio and that was perfect. All guests were very happy with their stay and we all had a great weekend!

an event that will be remembered fondly for a life time. Any time I had a question or needed help prior to and up time show time she was available. She responses quickly to any questions at any time prior to the event.
The serving staff was amazing. There wasn't a single dirty dish or glass on the tables during the dinner service. All of my guests were taken care of. The view is by far the best in the area.
The hotel is beautiful with top notch fitness center, beautiful pool, and attached restaurant. I highly recommend the DoubleTree by Hilton on Port Huron. It was truly a dream come true.

tly done through e-mail communication. We used the Abbey room which led right to the outdoor area where the ceremony was held. It was beautiful. It was a perfect location for the American and Canadian guests. The bridge and the water gave a beautiful backdrop. We had a block of rooms for guests staying the night and did everything from the rehearsal, the rehearsal dinner and a continental breakfast the morning after in a conference room reserved for us to use the entire weekend. That room was not the focus but helped us immensely with storage and gathering of guests pre and post wedding. We had a huge bridal suite to get ready for the day. Everything was right on site the entire weekend. They hosted a tasting event months prior to the wedding to help my daughter and son in law make their meal and drink selections. The food was delicious.
The service was superb and the wedding coordinators were fabulous. We did not have an unlimited budget, and we got so much for the price we paid. It was very reasonable. We cannot thank Sarah LaForge enough for her attention to detail and for always accommodating us. She took most of the stress away from us so we were able to enjoy the day. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful also. We are extremely happy with this venue and I know the bride and groom feel the same way.

making our big day special since it was a smaller in size. However Sarah and Amanda both took time with us and made us feel equally as special to host our event there. In the months leading up they offered a tasting which was helpful and worked with us to answer any questions or concerns we had. For the day of, Sarah went above and beyond adding some special finishing touches and even stepping in to assit the photographer in achieving some great photos I wanted. Her attention to detail is perfection! The hall itself was beautiful especially with the water view. The staff was great with working with our guests even when special requests were made. Having the hotel available for the guest was so convenient and helpful for "getting ready" before the ceremony. I can't express how happy I am with my entire experience with this vendor. Highly recommend!
