I used to be an employee at the hotel for many years. Best job I ever had 🙂. I highly recommend anyone who would like a job in the hotel to go there. Or, if you are in need of having a banquet event, etc., look into the Double tree by the Hilton in Virginia Beach. The kind and attentive staff will treat you right.

Ms. Jackie Ivester who is in charge of the catering was great. She was very helpful in coordinating my reception. Very professional. She was always available which was great for all of my questions I had.

As a caterer the DoubleTree was amazing. The food was wonderful and everyone at my wedding enjoyed it. They even made two vegetarian dishes at the last minute for two of my guests. As a venue, they were both great and average. The staff the day of was really on point, and took care of everything I discussed with them. They even reset thing that we had put on the tables when they altered the linens, and lit the candles on the tables without me asking. Thee average part of it was that sometimes it was hard to get in contact with the person I was to deal with, and in my time working with them I had to deal with three separate people as they kept leaving the job. Also, the building/rooms are not spectacular. Their presidential suite doesn't even have a whirlpool tub.

Jackie Ivester and her staff were wonderful, patience and kind. I had the best wedding ceremony and reception. The food was great. The space was terrific. I have no complaints. My guests were impressed with the hotel, the staff and the accommodations. If you must make a decision about a place to have your wedding, I must say, you will not go wrong with the double tree. I am so thankful I had my wedding at the double tree. 6-16-12 S&B

The DoubleTree was a great venue. We had about 200 guests, and the space was tight, but it provided an intimate reception where we were able to easily interact with guests. The staff at the DoubleTree was FABULOUS on the day of the wedding. The worked quickly and efficiently to make sure everything was done properly and professionally. We had some communication issues prior to the reception, but persistence was key, and the night turned out wonderfully!

Jackie Ivester and her staff at the DoubleTree are amazing -- so helpful and were very accommodating and helpful throughout the entire planning process. The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the guestrooms themselves are dates and some smell a little moldy. But the reception was great, everyone had a wonderful time, the food was terrific, and the brunch in the morning was very convenient as well!

The lady that worked with us was awesome and was flexible in every possible way! She made sure we were happy with every single detail and went over our list several times with us. Also, the food was so incredibly good and everyone loved what they got! Only problem was there was no plate or anything when we went to cut our cake. They also helped us out by making sure our cake was in place, the arrangements were out on the tables, and placing our favors on the tables for us, which was a god send. Couldn't have done it without them!
