Do yourself a favor and hire Doug. I think one of my best decisions regarding our wedding was choosing Doug to capture the day. He was such a dream to work with - accommodating not one, but TWO wedding reschedules thanks to the global pandemic. He also drove an hour outside of the cities to visit the site with my husband and I, excitedly pointing out the best spots for spectacular pictures. The wedding day came and he was the perfect mix of helpful suggestions and just letting the day unfold and capturing all the magical moments that happen between mothers and daughters, sisters, friends and family, and between a new husband and wife. His "Ok last one. Wait. Ok this one is the last one!" had the whole wedding party laughing. During the ceremony and reception, he whizzed around almost invisibly. He worked closely with our coordinator and videographer to make sure the schedule moved along swiftly, and all the background logistics were handled so my husband and I could spend the day just enjoying each other and those that we hadn't seen in far too long. They say a picture is worth a thousand words so I'll wrap this up with a few incredible shots that Doug captured.

Doug was the photographer for the 3 events of our wedding celebration recently. I knew I loved his documentarian style as soon as I saw his work but I didn’t know I would fall in love with it even more when we got our pictures. He is a super human who captures every single thing that makes you relive your special day. He is also focused on the guests and things happening around. I don’t know many people who can capture so many moments and that too so beautifully. He is a wizard and has such an eye for things! He masters in colors as much as the black and white art of photos. Our Indian wedding was all colors and I don’t think my words can do justice to the pictures. You can never go wrong with him and he is so easy to get along. All my family and friends loved him. We’re so lucky we got to work with Doug for our wedding. Photography was nearly the most important thing to me since that is what would tell the story of our day. Doug was cool, calm, and collected and so discreet about shooting moments I didn’t even realize he was able to capture (perks of the documentary style). He took us to neat locations he had previously scouted and was helpful making us feel at ease in front of the camera. We didn’t hire a videographer and didn’t know whether that would be a regret. Once we saw the photos, we felt like we were watching a documentary of every moment of the day, no need for a videographer. It was incredible to relive the whole day through his photos. Doug is a master photographer, his candids are simply perfection, and he's also a super sleuth! I couldn't believe all of the amazing moments he captured, and he's so easy to work with. I teared up looking through the photos the first time, and I had amazing ones of my guests to send! I love his black & white work, but for some reason color seemed to reign supreme at our wedding, and his work was just as gorgeous.

He also paid attention to the smallest details that were really meaningful to us. My aunt was unable to travel because of a recent onset medical condition, and Doug captured a photo of us facetiming with her – so she still got to be in our wedding photos even though she couldn’t be there in person. We felt that our wedding day couldn’t have been captured more perfectly, and are in awe of the photos every single time we look at them! If we were to do it all over again there is no doubt in my mind we would have Doug photograph our wedding (and ideally any other major events in our lives moving forward)! We got married in Yellowstone National Park, it was raining on our big day but it didn't stop Doug. What we loved most about Doug is his patience and willingness to do whatever it took to get the best photos for our special day. Doug photographed our wedding, and my husband and I agree that it was one of the best decisions we ever made. He was so responsive and friendly leading up to the wedding that we already trusted and felt comfortable with him before we met him. My advice to anyone getting married is that your wedding will stream by faster than you can imagine, and there is no better investment than a talented photographer who can freeze some of those moments for you. Doug was so lovely to work with throughout the entire wedding planning process. He was always cool as a cucumber and his calm, confident nature is infectious to everyone around him turning the chaos of wedding day into a breeze! He never made us feel rushed but kept everyone on schedule. We hired Doug for our wedding last year and he was truly amazing to work with! We found him through the knot and Instagram and after a few chats, we knew that he's the one to shoot our wedding. The communication was like a breeze. He understood our needs as a couple and showed us a few options to choose. The day of the wedding was incredible! He captured all the magical moments and I love the way he conceptualized the entire photo. We were all in the moments and he managed to document everything through his eyes and lenses. Post-editing process was really smooth as well. Usually I've heard photographer taking months to finish editing the pictures but it takes Doug roughly a month to finish editing everything. Doug was awesome to work with. All of our wedding photos turned out GORGEOUS and we could not be happier with them! We received so many compliments on how beautiful all our photos were. Doug even came early on the day of the wedding to make sure he had enough time to get all of our detail and get ready photos, and still stayed until the end of the night to get our send off/getaway car photos. I’m glad my someone referred Doug Burke to us! He did an amazing job on our engagement photos. All things being equal, my wife and I are not the most photogenic people. So, the idea of having our most important day being captured in a series of photos over 8 hours was overwhelming, to say the least. Through a recommendation of a co-worker, we were introduced to Doug. From the start, Doug's approach and his overall personality was one that aligned with us. You will come across several vendors during the wedding planning process that have overpowering personalities. The engagement photo session (which I encourage everyone to get one, if only as an opportunity to get to know your photographer before the big day) allowed us an opportunity to see Doug as someone who completely goes with the flow with our collective vision (even if it means trekking through snow to find that perfect backdrop). Where to begin! The first day my husband and I contacted Doug Burke Photography, we knew right away, we would book with them. Their approach and kind demeanor towards us was outstanding and their response time regarding emails was prompt. At the time of booking, there was much uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 and how it would affect our planning; however, the team at Doug Burke Photography calmly carried us through the difficult process of postponing and keeping us on track with planning. They helped us formulate the best inspiration shots and made sure to equip us with an amazing team to keep the show going day of the wedding. Our photographers, Doug & Anna, and our videographers Christian and Julian made our day brilliant! They were on top of the wedding day timeline and kept all our bridal party together when the photoshoot called for them. They reminded us of our timing and kept the day flowing well. They spoke to us and our guests with genuine excitement and followed us throughout the night to capture all we envisioned. Thank you so much! I made several enquiries to NC wedding photographers, and Doug Burke Photography was by far the most helpful and his approach made me instantly relax. We were coming from the UK and had never been to North Carolina before, so we needed to feel confident with our choice. We met our officiant, at the City Clerk's office the Friday before and she so obviously loves what she does! On the day, from the moment we were picked up by the limo driver we felt so special. Doug and his team took such wonderful photos capturing the atmosphere of the day so well. We highly recommend Doug Burke Photography!!

Doug has an eye for images and takes beautiful pictures. We used him for our engagement and wedding photos and they were amazing. The backgrounds he chose, the fall colors, the way he made nature a canvas around us as well as the many candids he shot, I couldn’t be happier with his work. We have gorgeous pictures that captured our best moments from the funny to truly stunning. He was prompt to respond to messages and very easy to work with.

Doug was absolutely amazing. With so many photographers to goose from I am so glad I went with him. Throughout the entire process from consultation to finished photos he was attentive and extremely professional. We asked him to do a few things that were not planned and he performed fantastically. I can say without a doubt I would recommend him to everyone, anytime, every time.

I would recommend Doug to anyone. When I first came across his work online I was immediately impressed. When I contacted him he immediately responded and even took the time to sit down with my husband and I to answer all of our questions before booking. While at the wedding he was so nice and respectful, I even had multiple friends and family complement how kind he was. We had only booked him for four hrs and due to the wedding running a little behind he still made sure to stay and get all of the important pictures of the cake cutting and garter/ bouquet toss. I was also very impressed with his turn around time. I had asked if we could have a couple sneak peaks since it would take a little while to get all the pictures back. He had me three in less than 24 hrs. Also it typically takes about a month to get pictures back and he had my gallery up in less than two weeks. The best thing about this is he actually sent me the link on my birthday which was amazing. I highly recommend Doug if you are looking for a wedding photographer, he's work is amazing!
