Seven years ago, I posted this review online: "My husband and I got married on Dec., 8, 2008 and you performed at our reception at the Hau Tree Lanai Restaurant. You did an amazing job! We were truly, truly honored to have you perform, and your musicality was the perfect touch for our reception—it helped make the reception both Hawaiian and very tropical in nature. THANK YOU! I just wanted to extend an extended thanks. Ever since that trip to Hawaii (my third, Justin’s first), Hawaii has played an increasingly large role in our household. In particular, many thanks for spending a great deal of time with our own resident musicians and for playing Iz’s “Over the Rainbow” as our wedding song. It’s my favorite song and ever since we got engaged, I knew I wanted it as our wedding song. Your rendition of it was absolutely perfect. I can’t wait to get back my friends’ video of the ceremony so that I can watch/listen to our first dance. In the car, however, we have your CD playing in our car’s stereo on repeat—sometimes I think it’s the only thing that helps us maintain our sanity during the crazy commute! We look forward to playing your CD in our nursery once we eventually have kids. It’s just really great, beautiful music, and we love it. We’re definitely attempting to make visits to the islands a regular part of our life. Perhaps more special is that we’re returning to the islands for our two-year anniversary. Hawaii’s very much an important part of our lives, and I very much thank you for sharing your portion of it with us—it’s with us daily. Thank you dearly for all of your help. Many thanks for being the perfect guitarist at our reception. We loved your music and would highly recommend you to anyone. Mahalo nui loa." Seven years later, what has changed? Doug has become one of our dear friends. His music still plays in our car, and our two little boys are familiar with it. We were honoured to spend time with him on our two most recent trips to Oahu - hiking, at a concert, and at a moonlit picnic on the beach together. Doug is an amazing musician, person and friend. My husband and I had no idea that 8 years ago, the joining of our lives would also mean the development of some amazing friendships. We are so thankful to have Doug and his beautiful music in our lives. Anyone who hires him gets more than just some great music...you also get to know an absolutely fantastic person.
I had the privilege of having Doug Fitch play at my wedding in June on the island of Oahu. He's a truly talented Hawaiian Slack Key Guitarist, as well as a singer/songwriter who has a wide breadth of styles. Doug is passionate about providing the best quality of service to his clients and at all of his events. He really cared about meeting our requests to make our day as special as possible. He was friendly, professional and above all a terrific addition to the day. Since then, I've seen Doug perform at another shows (he does all kinds of events, not just weddings, and also performs concerts occasionally) where he was equally if not more so impressive. He has a great stage presence and it's fun hearing his other styles of music (country, rock, etc.). I highly recommend Doug for anyone in search of a talented guitarist for their event and can say it was one of the best decisions we made when planning our big day. Whether you're having your wedding on the beach, a luxury hotel, or anywhere in between (even off island!) Doug Fitch is worth your consideration.
Perfect choice for our beach ceremonyReviewed on 7/06/2013 Amanda R
We had a very small ceremony (1 hour, no amplification). We picked 2 new songs for him to learn and they sounded amazing. We also picked either the guitar and ukulele which added more personalized options for us. He was very helpful with helping us pick songs as well.

Doug, you are amazing. Thank you so much for all you and your hula dances, Nico and Naco, added to our wedding. Our guests were so impressed...as are we.
