We got married at the Highlands Ranch location, and this venue is truly unique for a wedding. So many of our guests complimented us on choosing it, and most people had never been t...
o a wedding at a library, which made the experience feel really special. It ended up being everything we hoped for and more.
If you are planning something nontraditional, this is a really fun and memorable choice. I will say it requires very clear communication and detailed instructions along the way. Our package included a concierge, planner, and day-of support. During planning, I explained a few times that we were not using certain traditional vendors, like a florist, because I am in the industry and was trading services with professional friends. Even after sharing that, I was still asked multiple times for contracts or vendor details that did not apply, and preferred vendor recommendations continued to be shared after I had explained I would be hiring people I know within the industry.
Less than a month before the wedding, I was accidentally sent completely incorrect information for someone else’s event, which was stressful that close to the date. However, the mistake was corrected quickly, and Reagan and Dakota were incredibly helpful throughout the process.
Headcount communication was also a bit challenging. From the beginning, I shared a rough estimate and explained our RSVPs would close one month out, but I was asked for updated numbers repeatedly before that timeline. The final headcount was delivered exactly when originally agreed upon.
I’ll also add a personal reflection for context: I wasn’t the most organized or decisive during parts of the planning process, mostly because I usually work weddings only on the day of rather than planning my own. I think if I had been more structured and firm in a few decisions—like confirming early that I would be hiring my own people and making my own flowers—some of the challenges I experienced may have been reduced.
Our rehearsal dinner was wonderful and incredibly helpful in preparing everyone for the next day. We ran slightly over time, but that was not due to the staff, and we were not rushed out, which we truly appreciated.
On the wedding day itself, the staff was extremely friendly, and the overall layout matched what we had discussed. There were plenty of helpful hands between the venue team and our own people, and we actually ran ahead of schedule. The only real issue was that not all of our planned items were brought out. We had intended to offer tea for guests who do not drink alcohol or soda, and water cups for the tables were also delayed until near the end of the night. Very little people used the water pitchers that we had on the tables for this reason. We last minute decided to buy water bottles and I’m thankful we did.
One administrative detail worth noting is that our final contract copy remained unsigned on the venue’s end, even though the event itself proceeded as planned.
Knowing what I know now, I would have placed our sweetheart table less isolated from everyone so we could feel more connected to our guests throughout the evening. Additionally the area we chose for dancing was pretty dark, which I might have brought some low lighting in there had I known.
Even with those small hiccups, the night ended naturally, and we never felt rushed to leave. Overall, this was a beautiful and memorable place to get married, especially for couples looking for something different.

day of the event, when some things went a little off as they often do, they helped keep everything (and everyone) on an even keel. It was a wonderful day!
