Every question and detail was handled with such professionalism and care. We truly appreciated how we and our guests were treated.
We could not have chosen a better wedding venue! We were SO impressed with the professionalism, kindness, & efficiency of the staff. The house & outside is beautiful, but the people who work there make it even more incredible. We received so many compliments on the food & the beauty of the venue. From the beginning of planning to our big day, we have loved our experience with this venue. We tried our best to choose vendors who aligned with our values & would create the loving, warm atmosphere we wanted for our wedding, & that is exactly what each member of the staff did. We are so grateful to Krista, Angie, Stephen, & the rest of the amazing staff at the Dr Phillips House. Thank you!
This venue is a hidden gem in the middle of the downtown Orlando area. It’s pretty much already decorated, so minimal decor was needed. It’s a beautiful indoor/outdoor space, and provides a room upstairs for the bride and groom as well as the option to book additional rooms. (I recommend getting one the night before, it was so nice to wake up and be able to get ready at my own pace!)
The package we selected included tables and chairs, catering, a beer and wine bar, as well as the venue. It made it SO EASY to only have one contact for everything. But here’s the best part-
THE FOOD. IS. AMAZING. I’ve worked in catering for a very long time and never expect much from
Wedding food. I had so many people tell me that this was the best meal they had at a wedding pretty much ever. Seriously better than weddings I’ve attended at big name hotels and Disney.
They made it so easy and provided me a great backdrop for my wedding, as well as wonderful service!
Any questions?
The Dr. Phillips House is such a gorgeous and unique venue! We loved that there are 6 bedrooms within the house that you can reserve for the night of your wedding and the day before if needed. We booked 1 room for the night before and then used it as the girls getting ready room for the morning. For the night of our wedding we reserved all 6 rooms and were able to have most of our wedding party stay on sight which was great!
The staff here is also amazing and really made our wedding perfect! I was nervous about it raining and we talked through multiple different rain backup plans (which thankfully we didn’t have to use). They went above and beyond and made us feel so special and took care of us the whole night. We wanted to step away for a moment during cocktail hour and they brought us a whole plate of the cocktail appetizers we had chosen along with a drink for each of us. For dinner, we chose the buffet option but they brought us each a prepared plate to our table. By the end of the night they even had two leftover boxes of food waiting in our hotel room fridge in case we got hungry later. The food was amazing and so is this venue! I cannot imagine having chosen a different option for our wedding as everything was perfect with the Dr. Phillips House!
Overall we were very pleased with Dr. Phillips House! This venue is gorgeous and full of charm. We got many compliments on it! The gazebo is beautifully maintained as was the dining room and rest of the exterior. I appreciated that our catering staff was attentive for the most part during the reception and put food at the table for us while we were mingling. There were two main concerns we had:
- Communication leading up to the big day was definitely a struggle at times. Compared to all my other vendors, they were the slowest to respond. I also repeatedly had the issue of asking 2-3 questions in one email, only for one of them to be answered and the rest ignored, meaning I had to try to get in touch with them AGAIN. It got to the point where my coordinator stepped in because we were repeatedly asking about certain details with no response. Communication leading up to wedding day is so important for a bride! Especially from a major vendor like the venue itself. The lack of communication was definitely an added stressor.
- How they handled the cake. First, we were bummed because no one made us aware that the cake was ready and being served, which led to us not getting any of our cake to eat and about 10-12 of our guests not getting cake either. This doesn't fall just on the venue, as I recognize the DJ or coordinator could have also stepped in and said something. I also have no clue where the remainder of the bottom tiers ended up as the cake fed way more people than we had there, especially with that many people not getting a chance to have any of it. The second issue was that there was no communication about the top layer of the cake and what they were doing with it. I had come down from the room we were staying in later that night and the cake was just sitting on the table by the entrance. Because it was a cheesecake, it could have spoiled by being left out all night if I didn't happen to go down there. Some discussion about the cake would have been nice, as we saw catering staff multiple times and they could have told us.
All in all, it was a positive experience but there were definitely some areas of improvement.
The staff at this venue was brilliant! They were attentive, super nice, and made sure everything was perfect!
I got a bit sick due to my nerves, and they came in clutch to make sure I was drinking water, eating, and even game me some tums. I felt better and was able to enjoy the rest of the night!
The venue itself has so much character, too, and my vision was complete thanks to the house's unique charm ❤️
After about a month of shopping for venues, we knew this was where we wanted to get married as soon as we walked in. This venue is gorgeous. Pictures don’t do it justice it whatsoever. If you want your wedding to have an outdoor element while also having a good backup in case it rains, this is the best option in Orlando. The garden is stunning, but the house is beautiful and spacious enough that you can get married indoors too if that’s what you prefer or if it rains on your wedding day. Angie, the venue manager, is phenomenal at what she does. She is an excellent, reliable communicator and we loved working with her.
Some things you should know about this venue:
1) If you book this venue, you MUST use their catering company for food and for bar service. For us, this was a bonus. The price was better than anything else we had seen, it cut down on the number of vendors we needed to coordinate with, and the food was delicious. We had several guests tell us it was the best meal they’ve ever had at a wedding, and I saw most of the guests get up for seconds. However, if you have a catering company you love, you will not be able to use them here.
2) The max capacity is about 120 people. Our wedding had 100 people, and we fit comfortably. If your guest count is above 100, it will likely be a bit cramped.
3) A one-night stay is included for free if you host your wedding here. The suite we stayed in was spacious and clean. It had a large bathtub, a huge bed, and a mini-fridge. You don’t have to stay the night, but make sure you know which room you’re staying in if you do as they are not all the same.
4) The Wellborn is right next door to the wedding venue and is an excellent place to continue the festivities. We had our after-party here so that no one would have to drive immediately after the wedding ended. Our wedding was on a Saturday, and there was still plenty of space for about 50 of us. The Wellborn is half-indoors and half-outdoors, so this may not work out if it’s a rainy night.
5) There is a small parking garage around the corner of the wedding venue for guests to park at. It’s got about 30 spaces and fills up quickly. Encourage your guests to car pool or use a ride share app to get to and from your wedding.
This venue was perfect for us, and we hope it’s perfect for you too!
I may be biased but I think Dr. Phillips House is the best wedding venue in Orlando. It's gorgeous, with many picture opportunities and just feels like you're in a fairy tail. I loved that it allowed us to have an intimate spot to get married with the ceremony and reception in the same spot. It's also fairly priced. Many other venues are way over charging couples, taking advantage of the specialness of our weddings but Dr. Phillips does not do that, they charge, I would say a very reasonable amount for the rental fee and per person food/alcohol cost. I'll also add how delicious their food was! We had the buffet option and even buffet style it was incredible. We stayed in one of the rooms offered by the house both the night before and the night of and loved being able to wake up at the venue and go to sleep there. It allowed for a seamless day, very relaxed and just let us enjoy our wedding and not stress about getting to the venue with all of our stuff.
Angie was the main contact for the venue and she was always very responsive and sweet.
We found this venue after nearly giving up, it's perfect. An incredibly unique venue coupled with beautiful historic value. We went with a few vendors based off Angies recommendations and we couldn't have been happier! Sherri Rinker was our DOC based off of Angies suggestion and wow! Literally with out the two of them I have no idea how I would have functioned.
Beautiful venue with so much charm! No need for any decorations as the house is artfully decorated with eclectic paintings and antique furniture. The mansion hosts a gorgeous outdoor space for a ceremony and indoor dining area for a comfortable 80 person dinner. Despite a few strange occurrences (the fire alarm went off just before I walked down the aisle, they refused to hold my cake in the fridge that morning, vegetarian plated meals were served after the buffet was released so some people got 2 plates) the venue was easy to communicate with and was a gorgeous backdrop for our special day. I would recommend it!!!
This was the most amazing venue! Angie and her staff were so amazing and accommodating for us and everything we could want. All of our guests raved about how beautiful the venue was and how amazing the food turned out. The prices were very reasonable for this beautiful venue and allowed my husband and I to have the most amazing day. There was not one thing that we were not happy with. Thank you!
My wife & I got married at the Doctor Phillips House this month on February 21st. We had a small wedding with approx. 45 guests and this location was perfect for us. The house has 6 bedrooms and we rented all 6 rooms for the night of our wedding with most of our wedding party and family staying in the rooms.
This house is an amazing venue location to host a wedding. When we first started looking for places to get married this was the 1st location we toured & we instantly fell in love with it.
The catering staff on the night of our wedding was phenomenal! The food was amazing, as well as the hors d’oeuvres during our cocktail hour.
We want to give a special thank you to Sally as well as the entire catering team that was there. Sally was our captain & she made sure that we had everything we needed that night.
Amanda our bartender was fantastic as well. Also thank you to ce ce, Steve, and Jarret the serving staff. They went above and beyond and were very friendly and attentive.
We could not have asked for a more perfect wedding day, everything was perfect and we would highly recommend this location!
A big thank you as well to Angie for everything! She helped us through the entire process. Planning a wedding in the middle of a pandemic is hard enough but Angie was there from start to finish.
⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 5 stars for sure!
Dr Phillips House offered a beautiful venue with an incredible staff to make for a magnificent wedding. From the planning meeting with Angie to the final candle being blown out we could not have asked for a better experience. Angie was able to give guidance and support throughout the planning process and the day of turned things over to Christine to run a truly flawless event.
Biggest compliments were the outstanding staff to many to name but everyone pulled their weight to make sure that every guest was comfortable and well taken care of. The food was also fantastic served hot and on time with plenty for everyone. The attendant at the buffet as well as the chefs in the kitchen didn’t let anyone down. Thank you to all of the incredible staff for making this an event to remember.
Very helpful and understanding during COVID. Was very accommodating.
While the house was absolutely beautiful, the food was good, and the price per person for food and a full bar was very affordable, we ran into countless issues with the venue along the way. A catering company called Millenia Catering recently bought the house and proved to be extremely disorganized. When we toured the house we were given a handout of the prices for food and drinks and when we booked the venue a week later the prices had increased without the company notifying us. I found this out after we had signed the contract. She also told us during the walk though that Sparklers for an exit were allowed- which she later said they were banned, and then they changed their mind again at the last minute and said they were allowed again. During the walk through she also said that a rain plan alternative would not be an issue but we later found out that this in fact would be an issue as they really didn’t have a rain plan in place. She also showed us the bridal suite during the walk through and informed us that we would get a free stay the night of the wedding in that room. We booked a year and a half in advanced and during the rehearsal we found out that they double booked this room on our wedding day/night. They also tried to lie to us and told us that the room “wasn’t the bridal suite” and showed us to another room, when in fact on their website it has a picture of that room labeled “bridal suite” with a wedding dress in the photo. The bridal suite is not even available to book on their website so we were so confused as to how it was double booked when there was no other guests spending more money than us on that day. My wedding coordinator fought for us to get the bridal suite but they ended up just put us in another room to get ready in and stay the night. Figuring out the seating chat was probably the most stressful part as they had no idea how many tables would fit in each room in the dining room and they told us 3 different numbers when it came to how many guests could fit at each table. This made it really stressful as I didn’t have enough centerpieces at the last minute and we had to rearrange the seating chart countless times. On their website it says they hold weddings of up to 250 people but when she sent us an old layout it didn’t even have enough seats or space inside for our wedding of 100 people. I ended up making my own layout of the venue with the positions of all the tables, cake, etc. and presented it to them. They said our wedding was complicated because it was “very large” with 100 people when they advertise that their venue can seat 250 people. They also told us that we would have premium liquor at our open bar and ended up serving wells. If it had not been for my wedding coordinator that I hired outside of the venue it would have been a total disaster. The catering company is still getting to know the venue but if they want it to be a successful wedding venue they need to hire someone specifically to handle weddings at the Dr. Phillips House rather than just having it be one of their 30 properties that they own/cater.

Ally,
We truly want to apologize for information that was miscommunicated during your planning process. Although we put our best foot forward for each and every client that we work with, we understand from your experience that our details wer...

Your feed back is very critical to us as we are continuously improving to better serve our clients. Should you have any further concerns or thoughts, please feel free to reach out to us directly. We wish you nothing but the best!
We worked with Angie in hosting our wedding for circa 90 people at the wonderful Dr. Phillips House and the whole process was completely seamless.
We first visited the house as one of four potential destination venues we were taking a look at in the Orlando area and it was truly love at first sight. This venue has everything and we fell in love with the home's classic architecture paired with its dreamy, romantic outdoor spaces - it's beautiful and truly comes alive at night with with twinkle lights.
The service throughout the evening of our wedding was impeccable and the free-flowing layout of the home is so perfect for mingling no matter how your guests choose to spend their time at your wedding.
Our one reservation about this venue was its proximity to the highway but we didn't notice the noise at all once the ceremony had begun and the music played. Thank you to Angie and the team for providing us the wedding venue of our dreams. We cannot imagine a more perfect spot to have had our wedding.
This house was a dream come true for a wedding venue. We live in West Palm but could not afford to pay for a venue down here due to pricing but the Dr. Phillips house was so affordable. Angie, the Account Executive would email me back every time I had questions almost immediately. Amy, was there the day of the wedding. She was extremely helpful and so pleasant. The staff was amazing, the food delicious. It was a magical place to be married. 10/10 would marry there again.
We just celebrated our daughter’s wedding a week ago at the Dr Phillip’s House. It was more beautiful then I even imaged it would be. From the very beginning, the vendor contact Angie was amazing. She was so accessible, answered all of my crazy mother of the bride questions throughout the planning process and accommodated our many venue visits and special requests. The venue is absolutely beautiful with spacious rooms to rent during the wedding weekend! Amy, our catering contact was wonderful too. Our guests told us it was the best wedding food they’d ever had. Millennia catering was professional, prompt and extremely helpful. Could not have imagined a more perfect wedding for my daughter!
The Dr. Phillips House was everything that my fiancé and I could have even begun to imagine. Angie and Amy were wonderful to work with throughout the entire planning process. Both of them were extremely flexible and professional. I couldn't recommend this venue more!
We loved hosting our wedding at the Dr. Phillips House. The courtyard with the gazebo was perfect for our outdoor ceremony and the interior of the home was gorgeous for hosting our dinner and reception. It was also very nice to have the bridal suite included in our rental for the night of our wedding. Communication was prompt and professional. Highly recommend this venue!
I LOVED this as our wedding venue! Angie Vann was SO helpful throughout the whole process, and was the very best person to work with. It was the perfect size and location for our 111 guests, and made for the best night of my life. The patio strung with string lights outside made for the perfect dance floor, and the gazebo was so special to get married in. This venue is cozy but not cramped, and because it is an old house, it comes pre-decorated with beautiful artwork and antiques. I truly could not recommend a better or more special venue!
The Courtyard at Lake Lucerne is absolutely a hidden gem. My husband and I got married at the Dr. Phillips House in a Sunday Brunch ceremony, and we could not be happier with how things turned out. From start to finish, Angie was so easy to work with, and really made the process go so smoothly. This was especially impressive considering my husband and I live in Kentucky and we did all of our planning over phone and email. The day of our wedding, Amy was our point-person, and she was a sweetheart. She made sure the day went by without a hitch, and that my husband and I, as well as our guests, had a fabulous time.
The food, prepared by Millenia Catering, was absolutely wonderful, and I honestly wish I would have taken the time to eat more of it the day of our wedding! All of our guests voiced their approval though and said it was some of the best food they had ever eaten at a wedding.
To make a long story short, the Courtyard was absolutely wonderful. We cannot thank them enough for making our day perfect, and we would definitely recommend them to any couple getting married in Orlando.
This is such a beautiful place! Everything couldn't be more perfect. It such a quiet and cozy large house. I had my own bridal suite. My husband had his own private man cave. The food was excellent. The servers catered to our every need. The evening coordinator was so attentive. Most of all, Angie - our wedding coordinator - she ensured all of our needs were met and was always ready to answer all of our questions days leading into the wedding until the day of. I completely and utterly recommend this venue. It was a night to remember!
The venue is amazing. It is tucked away and very quiet. The houses are owned by different owners but you go through the same event person. I would verify all lodging information at time of booking because the rooms are run by different staff.
had booked this for my ceremony and reception. both Angie(venue rep) the Millenia Catering staff , and the hotel itself were professional and went above and beyond in service. we had a small wedding of 30...which most venues require a minimum amount, the courtyard accommodate our wedding and help us stay within budget.
We were in love with this venue immediately. Our only concern was the proximity to 408 and noise. Turns out we didn't even notice. The staff was wonderfully accommodating and had a rain plan when it started to rain during our reception. Our bridal suite was stunning and we loved being able to stay onsite. Lastly, the food was phenomenal. I could eat those mashed potatoes all day.
My husband and I are so grateful we found this venue. It could not have been a more perfect setting for our special day. They were extremely helpful and showed genuine interest in what your hopes are for any special event. A few weeks before the wedding we decided to go with a "day of coordinator." We were given Shannon and she was hands down a total lifesaver. Like any event with several components and vendors there are always minor hiccups. But Shannon took care of everything so seamlessly, that we barely even noticed. I highly recommend this venue if you like simple and organic things. Thank you to the whole team!
Love love love this location!!! It’s simply gorgeous. My only comment was that they painted the house a completely different color without telling us the week of the wedding.
It was a beautiful wedding!
We were serching for the venue near my sister in low lived and somewhere that was affordable. I found this place i.w Philips house through Theknot and it was perfect for our small ceremony and a reception.
Everybody told us the place was so beautiful. My hudsband and I were really happy to be there.
I cannot say enough about how great this venue was to work with. We had endless questions that were always answered promptly and graciously. We had my daughter's private ceremony in the courtyard in the gazebo and a reception for about 100 in the Dr. Phillips House. We also rented all of the rooms upstairs so that we could dedicate one room for the bride's room and use the extra rooms for family and out of town guests. The house has a very warm and intimate feel to it. Perfect for our family and guests. Shannon, our coordinator for the day was nothing short of phenomenal. She was on top of everything, super friendly and went the extra mile to make our day perfect. I highly recommend you book her services with the venue. We will all have great memories of the day thanks to the great people at this venue!
We are so glad we chose The Courtyard at Lake Lucerne for our wedding venue! Rafael was very kind, attentive, and detail oriented as he navigated my many, many questions. We chose the Dr. Phillips House for our ceremony and reception. Even though it rained on our wedding day, our day was still perfect with the rain plan indoors. They went above and beyond making sure the space was ready for our vendors to come in and set up! We rented the Turret Room for the two nights surrounding our wedding day and it was beautiful and clean! I would recommend this space to any bride, just make sure that you also hire a day of coordinator and good catering team! :)
I love the venue photos, the lights, the intimate details. We booked the guys getting ready room and were not told it was only for 2 hours, they gave us the room at 1pm, but our wedding was not until 530pm. I feel like that was the biggest waste of extra money ever. It was a rushed - GET OUT and we were trying to actually get ready for first look...It was hard to snap back from having to deal wit that. I still loved the photos, but the staff were not very communicative and sometimes did not return emails for a week or more.
I was so stressed trying to find the perfect wedding venue. The Courtyard at Lake Lucerne had everything we wanted and needed for our 70 person wedding. The staff was quick to respond to all of my emails. The bridal party and myself stayed the night prior to the wedding in the Dr. Phillips room and was able to have our hair and makeup stylist doll us up in the room. The room was huge, the gazebo was beautiful, and the lights made the venue something out of a fairy tale!
We had an great experience with The Courtyard at Lake Lucerne as our venue. We were married at the Dr. Phillips House and had a group of about 60. There was definitely room for many more, but we enjoyed the intimacy and uniqueness of the setting. Angie was very responsive to contact and any changes we made. The team member onsite the day of the wedding were very personable, helpful and worked well with other embers of the team to create a beautiful event.
We paid about $7,000 for 80 guests. This included beer and wine! There was an addition charge to add the full bar, which we did do. But no venue includes beer and wine..that was amazing!!! Angie, our point of contact, was INCREDIBLE! Always available and super responsive, we never had a hiccup planning our event. There was an option to add valet for $200 which our guests adored..their parking is a little difficult so I would highly encourage this upgrade. The space is beautiful, the furniture is beautiful, the gardens are beautiful, the fountains are beautiful...the entire venue is wonderful!! I wish I lived there :)
The Courtyard at Lake Lucerne is an ideal location for a wedding (ceremony and reception)! We loved the charm, the history and the unique features this venue had to offer. The location is perfect in Orlando, centered in downtown and easy for everyone to get to. The staff are very friendly and great to work with. We had Angie help us and she is amazing, very responsive and patient with me with all of my questions. The venue itself is stunning, it has a charm all in its own and very little decor is needed. We got married in October, it was warm but no rain. At night the lights strung up in the courtyard were so pretty. If you are looking for a venue that is unique, this is a great place to pursue. They have great wedding packages and are affordable, they make it very easy on you! We were so pleased from start to finish and loved this venue! The venue is an active bed and breakfast, so bonus we got to stay in an amazing suite the evening of our wedding! The room was huge! Beautiful decor, very clean and comfortable accommodations.
It is 3:44 AM as I write this. I'm convinced the walls and floors are made of cardboard. What I can only imagine is one of the wedding after parties is happening above us. After a call to the front desk the music stopped, but the stomping and slamming doors have not. I am about to place another call.
So, if you want a quiet place to get some rest, look elsewhere. Don't let my sacrifice be in vein.
This place is amazing! My husband and I got married here on May 2nd and it could not have been anymore perfect. Working with Angie was great, she was so helpful. The catering company was amazing and the bartenders was good as well. Having our out of town guests staying here as well was great! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a venue.
This venue is BEAUTIFUL!!! Catering and the bar comes with the price and my guests loved the atmosphere. Gardens are naturally gorgeous with existing lighting. Perfect place to get married!
When my husband and I came across this venue in downtown Orlando we knew it was the perfect choice. Not only is it beautiful but it is the perfect size for an intimate wedding. We had a headcount of 94 and it was the perfect size for the space; we were able to interact with everyone and dint feel crowded. The vintage feel of the building in conjunction with the beautiful gardens/courtyard make a beautiful backdrop for ceremony and photographs. The courtyard is already lit with strings of lights on the trees and overhead to make the perfect dance floor. Also, it is only 2-3 miles from downtown Orlando, allowing you to easily continue your wedding celebration after the reception. So pleased with this venue, it was everything we hoped it would be. As my photographer said, "our own secret garden" =)
My mother-in-law suggested we check out this location for our December wedding. We walked up to the I.W. House and fell in love. The small secluded courtyard facing the house steps was quiet (the 408 normal traffic sounds were not heard) and whimsical (all of the lighting strung through the trees was gorgeous). We wanted an inside/outside wedding and this location had that in spades.
The ceremony was held on the porch steps, cocktail hour in the courtyard, and the reception was inside and on the wrap around porch. We had access to the whole space the whole night, so our friends and family had plenty of space.
The staff was amazing to work with, very knowledgeable and willing to answer 1000 questions. The required food vendors we chose from were very nice and had a wide range of options to choose from.
The cost of the location includes quite a bit. And of course there are "upgrades" available. We had just under 100 guests and "upgraded" to the mid-level drink package. If you had a small wedding (60 people is the starting amount there) it could be much less $$ than what we paid.
My suggestion for the Bride: If you choose this location get a room (or two if your maids are staying with you for your last night of singledom) at the Art Deco the night before. If possible have your hair/make up team meet you there to get ready for the wedding. The room I had was "perfect" according to my Hair/make up team for lighting and space. Also it allowed for a lot of lead time between getting to the venue and remembering if anything was forgotten - the groom (or anyone else) would have the ability to bring anything the day of the wedding.
This venue was perfect. It was the first venue I visited and I knew right away that I wanted to get married here. My guests kept commenting on how beautiful it was. I would recommend it to any bride.
My husband and I toured only 3 venues, we made up our minds before we even left the Courtyard. We had our ceremony and reception at Dr. Phillips House, and it turned out so beautiful. I have always been a big fan of ballroom weddings, so I'm sure you can imagine this didn't exactly fit that mold. The Courtyard was so different and fit our personalities so well, I am so glad with the choice we made. The staff was VERY accommodating to our needs and went above and beyond their call, the venue is beautiful, and the guests absolutely loved it. The price we paid I found to be very reasonable to make our dreams come true. If you are on the fence and not sure, trust me this place is worth it!
The Courtyard at Lake Lucerne was truly a picturesque place for my wedding. They were able to accommodate my 120 guests and the price can't be beat! We had our ceremony outside in the gazebo, the dinner in the main house and the reception in the garden!
The only problem I had was that some rules & regulations were sent to me just months before the wedding causing me to have to change the centerpieces last minute. (They do not allow open candles in the house).
Overall we had a wonderful experience at The Courtyard at Lake Lucerne!
We were extremely happy with our decision to pick The Courtyard at Lake Lucerne for our wedding reception venue. We held our reception at the Dr. Phillips House and had great weather for an indoor/outdoor reception. It's Florida so we had a rain plan and it was nice to know that we would have been comfortable inside if the weather had not cooperated.
The location was great because it offered the advantages of being downtown (great skyline shots on Lake Lucerne, plenty of hotels and amenities within walking distance, central location) but still offered a private seclusion and easy parking for our guests.
Angie was a pleasure to work with and we had no trouble getting access to the facility with our planner or making small changes like adding an hour to the reservation time. We had a nice stay and our guests did too (everyone loved the breakfast).
Our March 2014 wedding at Lake Lucerne was absolutely wonderful. The first time we toured the venue we knew this was the place for us. We wanted to have a quiet evening wedding with an outside ceremony but have the option of moving inside if the weather was unpleasant. As it turned out the weather was perfect, and the courtyard was gorgeous as the sun went down. There are so many gorgeous little nooks and hideaways that photograph well.
I had expected to be overwhelmed and stressed out from all the little details needing to be done for the set up on our wedding day, but the courtyard staff as well as the catering team (chosen from a list provided) were amazing and I ended up not having to do a thing that day. It was much less stressful than I expected! It was a wonderful evening and I would definitely recommend the Courtyard at Lake Lucerne to any brides looking for a venue.
My fiancée proposed on a sacred mountain in Italy. We felt like finding a venue for the wedding that could match that experience would be impossible, but the moment we saw The Courtyard at Lake Lucerne we knew it was going to be perfect and it was. The staff was beyond pleasant and professional and went out of their way to please us despite the countless calls from my mother on rearranging guest rooms. The wedding package was in our budget and Angie’s experience directed us to the perfect vendors to match our personalities. The garden setting at night with all the twinkle lights replicated our stay in Italy and the entire event was as beautiful as we had imagined. We will absolutely return to the Courtyard and highly recommend it to everyone!
The courtyard was the perfect venue for our intimate wedding. The entire staff was wonderful to work with and willing to accomodate us with any extra requests we had. We could not be happier with the way everything turned out. Huge thank you to angie and her staff for everything.
We had 85 guests at our Indian-fusion wedding in June 2014. What we really liked when we first encountered the Courtyard at Lake Lucerne was it's natural beauty. Beyond that, the Courtyard provides a list of preferred vendors that helps you get started. We used some of their preferred vendors and some others not on the list. All of the vendors we met with that they recommended were fantastic! The staff at the Courtyard is also really helpful and responsive. Not to mention that it is a very affordable venue! You do have to pick one of their preferred caterers but there are 5 to choose from and they are all really good. Overall, we are extremely happy with our wedding venue and wouldn't have had our wedding any other place!
Before finding The Courtyard at Lake Lucerne, we looked at a number of different venues. One of the main things that drew us to The Courtyard was that we were able to do absolutely everything in one, beautiful location. Our ceremony, reception, and fantastic bridal suite were all there.
There are two historic homes to choose from, and we picked the I.W. Phillips House. In addition to the well appointed inside, the outside boasts classic fountains, statues, a dancing area canopied with trees and hanging lights, and an old Florida porch where we stood for our vows.
The catering options were plentiful, and the staff was fantastic. The room where we stayed was perfect. Although our ceremony was outside, there's always a contingency to move things indoors in case of bad weather, to the gorgeous antique dining room and parlor.
We sincerely couldn't have been happier with our wedding!
From the moment we toured the I.W. Phillips house we knew this was the place for us. Nothing compared to the romantic look and feel along with choices of venues that the Courtyard for our perfect evening. From that point we knew that was our place. Angie Vargas was great at guiding us through the process and made sure everything was easy and flawless. The compliments were never ending comparing our wedding to weddings that cost 4 times the price.
The Courtyard at Lake Lucerne offers multiple options for catering and D.J. service included in the price. We chose Meiner's Catering whose menu was out of this world. The elegant setup with our colors and our centerpieces turned out magnificent. We chose the Carved Beef Brisket and Florentine Chicken as a main dish along with two choices of great appetizers. We actually changed to that menu during the tasting which was amazing. Go into the tasting with an open mind and flexibility to be surprised.
Orlando's Got Talent was our DJ choice and Bruce took great care of us. We went with the Photo Booth along with up lighting. Both are highly recommended and inexpensive. It made the reception, pictures, and memories amazing!
Now for the most important. The wedding was perfect! From the procession to the last dance we could not have asked for more. The memories will last a lifetime. We had our own officiant, our own photographer with pictures after, dinner and dancing all at the Courtyard. The I.W. Phillips house was romantic, elegant and sophisticated.
Afterwards, we were able to wisk away up to the beautiful honeymoon suite while the caterers cleaned up afterwards. The suite was amazing and the caterers also left a plate for us to enjoy. The bed was built for a King and Queen, along with the hot tub and for a night we were royalty.
Breakfast was wonderful with choices of egg, sausage, bacon, beverages and baked goods.
We highly recommend and know you will be as impressed as we were. It is a perfect place for such an important day! The website is very accurate along with the pictures. The Courtyard by Lake Lucerne has facilities for every style and taste and we know you will not be disappointed!
Thank you so much to the staff, Angie, Bruce and the Meiner's staff for making our perfect wedding a reality!
We had our wedding in May at the Dr. Phillips House and everything turned out amazing. Angie was so easy to work with throughout the entire process. The location is great with lake views, accessible parking and the venue itself is gorgeous. Courtyard at Lake Lucerne is such a great value for everything you get. I would highly recommend this venue to anybody!
This venue was perfect for an intimate, romantic, vintage-themed wedding. My reception at the Dr. Philips House was of 65 guests and this location provided for the perfect setting for my guests to enjoy the evening dining and dancing [even though many more could have still fit comfortably.] Ms. Angie Vargas, the event coordinator, did an excellent job at providing me with budget-appropriate vendors, responding to all my comments and concerns immediately, and making sure that my husband and I had an evening to remember. Finally, all their suites are to DIE for as they're just as romantic as the property is in its entirety. =)
We had an amazing experience from start to finish and tied the knot on 1/2/2014. We planned our wedding in 4 months with Angie and chose our other vendors from their list and were very pleased. The I.W. Phillips house was beautiful and already decorated from the holidays which we loved. Rafael was amazing and available for me even the night before to help settle my nerves with last min things. I would highly rec this venue especially if you have family/guest from out of town because the accommodations were also very reasonable and nice! It was really beautiful!
We couldn't be happier with our wedding at The Courtyard at Lake Lucerne. The venue is gorgeous and needed no additional decorations. Angie and the rest of the staff were friendly, professional, and honest. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a classy and elegant garden wedding.
We had our wedding at The-Courtyard-at-Lake-Lucerne April 2014 and all I can say is that it was amazing and perfect ! They were so easy to deal with and we had the whole place to ourselves it felt like we were in our own home and yard ! The food was amazing and of course they treated us like a queen and king. The hotel room was included and was amazing! They really made the day real special ! I can not say enough about The-Courtyard-at-Lake-Lucerne, everyone should consider it for a wonderful wedding day come true ! Our wedding couldn't have been more perfect !
The Vebue speaks for itself, amazing historic home right on a lake. It's beautiful on its own. I could have chosen this venue by looks alone. But, the real seller is in the catering & staff. I used their affiliate caterer, John Michael's, & my entire guest list was floored with the quality & presentation. The food was amazing & the staff was flawless. The catering staff was incredibly pleasant & very professional.
I also used a wedding coordinator provided by the Courtyard, Rafael. He was so sweet & had everything handled. On the day of my wedding, I was waited on hand & foot, they covered everything. I just had to show up.
I couldn't have been more surprised & pleased with the quality of service I received all the way around. I was so stressed in the planning stages, but they pulled it all together & made it a dream wedding. (& I never thought I'd get married!)
Our Ceremony and Reception took place at The Dr. Phillips House. This is a wonderful venue. I liked that we could have our ceremony there and go straight into the reception with out any down time! Angie was a pleasure to work with answered all my questions promptly and we choose Meiner's Catering which was Fabulous! I recommend this venue to all my family and friends for any special occasion.
I wanted to have my bridal shower at the courtyard and Angie was completely rude to me and when giving me a tour she acted like she didn't care. She told me my shower had to be from 10am-1pm, didn't give my any other options. Then I order my invitations and pay my caterer for a "brunch" menu. I then get an email being told I have to do noon-2pm because the hotel has breakfast until 10 am. Then why did you offer me the 10am if you know the hotel as breakfast then? She then went behind my back and asked my caterer if I really didn't change my menu, like it was any of her business? Then at the last minute she tells me I can't use my caterers alcohol so if I want alcohol it'll be another like $350 to use their alcohol and required bar tender which was only mimosas and bloody mary's. not even a full bar. Angie was terrible, tried calling her boss to tell her how disappointed I was with this whole situation and she would never return my calls. Maybe they don't care about bridal showers because they're not getting more than $10k from me. Wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy.
They helped make our wedding amazing. They did a great job.
This was a great place to hold a wedding. It was beautiful and staff was very helpful.
All of our family came in from out of town so having everyone stay in one place was perfect. Angie was great working with us and helping us make all of our family happy. Although the venue is in downtown Orlando, it feels like your secluded.
This venue was absolutely gorgeous. It was perfect for my garden/vintage themed wedding. Communication from the staff was great. Periodic mailings and reminders on payments and events really helped keep the lines of communication open.
From the time you arrive to get ready you have this amazing feeling that the day is going to be perfect. The Ceremony looks absolutely wonderful better than I imagined. Everyone could not get enough of the beauty the Venue had as the night was setting. People didn't want to leave. I am so glad we didn't have to. We had a wonderful room on the balcony over looking the Ceremony and Reception area! It was a remarkable day. I give this plus my highest rating :)
I cannot say enough wonderful things about The Courtyard at Lake Lucerne! Angie Vargas was a dream to work with, and was so accommodating! We chose Meiners Catering, and we still have people coming up to us and asking about the food! Meredith was our coordinator for the day, and she was amazing! I've attended a lot of weddings in my day, and I am very happy to say that none of them have been in a location as unique as the Dr. Phillips house. If you are thinking twice about booking your wedding here, stop hesitating! They will do everything to make it the wedding of your dreams!
We had our ceremony and reception here and it was absolutely perfect! The staff is very helpful and went out of their way to make sure our day was special. Our guests raved about how quaint and elegant everything was. The courtyard was a beautiful location and the lighted trees at night added the perfect ambient lighting. We are so happy we chose this location to celebrate our day!
I had the ceremony and reception here. It was the most romantic setting for a semi-formal wedding. The only thing I did not like was that there are multiple wedding going on at once and doing pictures after the ceremony felt like a competition of who would get the best spot for their shots.
This place was the best a hidden gem in downtown orlando . The outside is like a secret garden. Like no other place very unique space and charming.
We had our wedding at the Dr Phillips house and I am still getting calls and comments as to how beautiful the place was. We had just about 100 guests and it was not crammed. The staff from Angie and our day of contact for the rehearsal and the Wedding (Madison) were wonderful and answered all my questions. Just wish the night could of went on longer!!
We are getting married at the Dr. Phillip's House in less than a month. Angie has been so helpful with the planning and answering any questions. The open house was great to be able to see how the venue looks when set-up for a wedding, and it also allowed us to sample and experience other possible vendors. The Dr. Phillip's House is absolutely stunning, especially if you want a unique wedding that isn't in a reception hall.
I have nothing but great things to say about the Courtyard at Lake Lucerne! Everyone there is so professional and courteous. Our wedding was beautiful, the venue was exactly what I was looking for. I always feel like it's hard to get things done the right way but that's exactly what they did for us!
We had most of the rooms booked by friends and family and they couldn't say enough about how great the staff was and how much they enjoyed their stay. Their coordinator was very helpful, especially since our wedding planner (a friend of my husband's, which was a terrible choice) was a complete mess. I definitely recommend using their preferred vendors, all of them. They keep things running smoothly because they do weddings there so frequently and work with each other all the time. I regret using the two vendors I had that weren't recommended by them (photographer and wedding planner).
I'd recommend the Dr. Phillips House to anyone, I'm recommending it to all my friends who are getting married because I can't wait to go back and enjoy another evening there. I also recommend buying the extra hour, they only include 4 hours, we had 5 and the evening still went by way too fast.
I am speechless. I have nothing but good things to say. Everyone here was wonderful. Angie was so helpful, and so was my day of coordinator. The bridal room was beautiful and big enough for a bunch of people to get ready in. We rented a room for the groom and his men and it was nice and big and a wonderful price ($50). Beautiful site for the ceremony and reception. I have the most beautiful pictures I could ask for. Everyone was very helpful; my wedding flowed and there was never a hiccup in the whole thing. I would recommend them for anything. They have a wonderful package plan that you can pick from.
We were married at the Courtyard at Lake Lucerne on 6/17/12 and truly couldn't have asked for anything to have been ANY better. We are still receiving compliments on how "perfect" our wedding was! The event team and catering team were all simply wonderful to work with.
The venue itself is simply gorgeous (we were married in the courtyard at the Dr. Phillips House) and truly requires little decoration or setup. They also have extremely affordable packages and a list of vendors who offer preferred pricing, but you are also welcome to use your own vendors for everything except catering. We chose to use Meiner's Catering, their primary on-site caterer, and were beyond pleased. I truly can't recommend this venue highly enough!
We got married at the Dr. Phillips House on 3/25/2012, the wedding was so wonderful and intimate. And there elegant yet affordable package was just too perfect we couldn't resist. Everyone was very helpful and quick to respond! Would deff recommend to everyone!
Angie and the rest of the staff were so nice and helpful, the cost was very good, and the ambiance of the venue was unlike any other I have ever experienced. We stayed on property and the accommodations were exquisite. We could not be happier with this place for our reception.
I would recommend The Courtyard at Lake Lucerne to those brides looking for a beautiful venue with a vintage feel. They are also quite budget friendly! They have 3 caterers to choose from and give you a list of recommended vendors. Angie, the event contact, is very helpful but sometimes was difficult to get a hold of. Overall, I give this venue an A, the staff at the hotel (it's actually a loveley collection of 4 different historic homes made into bed and breakfasts!) is very polite and accomodating and the venue itself is absolutely beautiful. My husband and I will go back to stay overnight for our anniversary!
The Courtyard at Lake Lucerne was the perfect venue for us. The venue itself contains two gorgeous houses. We chose the Dr. Phillips house because of the gazebo and garden feel. There was no need to even decorate the area because the courtyard was so pretty! The wedding coordinator Angie was amazing to work with. She answered any questions we had very quickly and really made everything so easy for us. The courtyard also provides a day of wedding coordinator and ours was Sherri who was a dream! I do not think our wedding could have gone any smoother with her around. She handled everything and really took care of not only us, but our guests as well with such care. The Courtyard really made our wedding a dream come true and we are so happy to have chosen this amazing venue. We hope to have another event in the future to hold or attend to at the Courtyard!!
Angie at the Courtyard was AMAZING to work with. She never hesitated to answer any questions we asked her. She was extremely professional and was very helpful while we were planning the wedding.
We were married at the IW Phillips House and the space was breathtaking. If you are looking for a cozy yet elegant venue, then this is the perfect place for your wedding. All of our guests loved the venue and told us we couldn't have chosen a more beautiful place to get married.
I would recommend this venue to EVERYONE!!!
We can't wait to go back in a year to stay and enjoy the comfortable atmosphere and reminisce about our perfect day :)
The Courtyard at Lake Lucerne is a beautiful location for a wedding. We got married in the Dr. Philips house in October. Overall, the staff was very easy to work with, although we did have to choose a pre-approved caterer and weren't allowed to have sparklers for our exit. The grounds are very dark at night, so you'll want to invest in some extra lighting.
The day of the wedding, extra charges were added that we were not aware of since we paid off our final payment a month prior...my mother just paid it so I wouldn't have to worry, but other than that, great time!
Let me start by saying that the Courtyard at Lake Lucerne is a beautiful location....just not for weddings of 150+.
The buildings are older so they are quite scenic, but even the larger buildings (Dr. Phillips and I.W. Phillips Houses) don't have any rooms that can hold more than 100 people in the same space. From what I remember, the Dr. Phillips House (largest building) can accommodate approx. 85 people in the main reception room, 20-30 in another room, 20-30 on a porch balcony and additional scattered people in the courtyard, etc. So, your guests may not be able to see your table, the cake, the dance floor, etc. from their seat.
Angie was very nice in person, but she specifically told me in our email correspondence that the Dr. Phillips House could accommodate up to 200 people. It wasn’t until I visited the site that she informed me of the space limitations and told me that she preferred to let brides see the space in person and make their own decision. I am anticipating approximately 150 guests for my wedding, and was not satisfied with the way they would fit into the reception area. Angie also informed me that the courtyard area can't fit 150 seated for the ceremony, so guests would need to stand or sit on the balcony of the building.
I would like to save other brides of the time and hassle of an appointment with a venue that cannot accommodate the size of their wedding. If you are interested in this venue, ask for more details and/or a floorplan so that you can see the limitations of the space.
It took me a week to get a call back from this venue however it was well worth the wait! The venue is gorgeous and the price is very reasonable! Angie is extremely friendly and helpful. Today was my first visit and they treated me like family allowing my mother and I to linger as long as we wanted, take pictures, make notes, and just look around.
Angie answered all of our questions with ease and provided many brochures (more than I've gotten anywhere else) for their elegant, yet affordable wedding package.
After today's viewing I'm reasonably certain that my fiance and I will be married there and I cannot wait!
The only complaint I had was that the on-site coordinator showed up an hour late for the rehearsal. This was due to them having the wrong time marked on their schedule. They apologized but I would have expected some sort of small refund for the inconvenience of having to wait for her to show up. Luckily, everything went perfectly the evening of the actual wedding. No complaints there. This is a beautiful location and our guests really enjoyed themselves. The “breakfast” at this bed and breakfast is not that great so that was the only downside to the location. We stayed there the night of the wedding and many of our guests did as well and the breakfast the next morning was not very good.
My day was wonderful, and The Courtyard at Lake Lucerne was the perfect backdrop. There was confusion during planning because they have too many people involved. The person who is in charge of your account is different from the person in charge of rentals who is different from your day of coordinator (who you don't meet until your rehearsal). But over all, the place was gorgeous, and they were very nice and helpful. Loved every minute!
This was a great place to get married. We switched from a different venue because the price was more affordable and we loved the bed and breakfast feel. The reception area is classically beautiful and doesn't require much decoration. Angie was so helpful during planning, and the event turned out beautiful. The wedding day coordinator was pretty helpful. I would recommend this venue to any bride, but would suggest not using the preferred caterer.
The Dr. Phillips House was a great location for our small wedding of 95 guests. Everyone that attended the wedding complimented the place and the overall atmosphere. Our entire ceremony and reception worked out perfectly and everyone had such a great time. We have already recommended this venue to other engaged couples!
Working with the staff at the Courtyard made my wedding day that much easier, stress free and more enjoyable - I was able to kick back and relax knowing that everything was taken care of. From the onsite wedding coordinator to the staff from Meiner's catering they made my wedding day go off without a hitch. Pictures do not do Dr. Phillips House justice, the lighting and setup is just spectacular for an elegant and personal wedding and reception.
Because it was a B&B, we had a quaintness in the middle of downtown Orlando. Loved having the reception in the courtyard garden under the stars.;Be careful of rain...not much of a plan B. If your wedding is on a Sunday (even if it is a holiday) they will not let you extend your time because of noise violations.
