Dr. Rick Marks

Dr. Richard "Rick" Marks is an ordained minister and a licensed professional counselor. He has worked nationally to help strengthen marriages and families and is one who helps engaged couples through premarital counseling and officiating their weddings. Dr. Rick has conducted over 700 premarital counseling sessions over the past 25 years and has officiated hundreds of weddings. He wants couples to have the 50 year plan for marriage rather than the 5 year plan. Dr. Rick is humorous and playful yet takes marriage and love seriously. He is pro-marriage and anti-divorce and has worked with state governments and community organizations on strengthening families and marriages. Dr. Rick enjoys working with engaged couples and helping them develop their relationship for a lifetime of mature love and connection. Dr. Rick's RelateWell premarital program is 6-8 hours where couples learn their strengths and growth areas and then learn the skills for communication, problem solving, emotional regulation and how to create an US that thrives long term. As a wedding officiant, Dr. Rick works with couples on having a wonderful, relaxed, and meaningful wedding ceremony. He works in both the faith community and non-faith. He will attend the rehearsal and loves being invited to the rehearsal dinner! He is flexible and has officiated Christian weddings, interfaith weddings, and non-faith weddings. His values are framed from a Christian worldview, but does not evangelize as an officiant or premarital counselor. He finds this disrespectful to the couple. He is warm. Energetic, Respectful.
