Located in Historic Shockoe Slip, Dransfield Jewelers has been creating one of a kind, custom jewelry for close to 30 years. All work is done in our studio on site. Nothing is sent off or shopped out. Our goldsmiths are happy to talk to you about your own designed piece, no appointment necessary. We also do repairs in house and have many lovely pieces ready made available to go home with you.
Engagement rings, wedding bands, bridesmaid/groomsmen gifts, we can do it all. Then come back for anniversary and push presents.

go. After our first meeting and me describing aspects of rings that I liked, Rose sent me about 12 different and unique designs based off of our conversation that were all absolutely stunning. My boyfriend at the time (now husband!) picked one of those designs to propose with and it was more beautiful than anything that I could have imagined. After we got engaged, we worked with Rose for both of our wedding bands, where she again displayed such patience and creativity while helping us with designs. I absolutely love my wedding band/engagement ring combination, and feel so happy that they are unique, stunning, and and inherently me. My husband is thrilled with his wedding band, and loves the custom engraving that I was able to put on the inside of it as a surprise. This was all thanks to Dransfield Jewelers and Rose. She was so patient, creative, and perceptive during all of our encounters and we can't thank her enough! ple weeks waiting for the sketch and calling and asking several times for it. I got a price starting almost 1600 up to 4000. I said I would get my own diamonds to go around it, you just do the gold and labor, then got a price of 1770, higher than the lowest price with diamonds. I brought a ring to be appraised and the owner said it was a little over a 1.18 cts and I1 and I2 diamonds. He told my wife you pay for what you get and she just bought this for my birthday. He still didn't do the appraisal. I took it to another place that has been in business over 66 years, they did the appraisal in 1 day for me and it was 1.84 cts and SI1 SI2 and G/H in color appraisal at 4665. This place is a ripoff and the owner is a jerk. Really made my wife feel bad. She felt so much better after we got it actual appraised. I took it to another jeweler just to give it a quick look and they said the appraisal looked to be correct. Don't waste your time or money.

t turned out to be a certified Helzburg ring valued at over $2000. We took it to Helzburg to purchase the band, but the ring was only sold in a set and they would not allow us to purchase the band unless we sold them back MY ring and bought a new SET (even though the stone in my ring was custom from the previous owner and increased the value of the ring). We left disappointed, but soon came across Dransfield Jewelers. We were able to bring them a picture of the original band and I was able to tell them the changes I wanted to make to it to make it what I wanted for my ring. They made a clay replica of my engagement ring (which only took about 4 days) and then used that to make the custom band (so that they did not have to keep my engagement ring for a few weeks!!). I have to say the band turned out BETTER than I had described that I wanted. They complimented the curves of my engagement ring beautifully when they made the band and they fit together exactly!! I went from being sad and afraid that I wouldn't have a wedding band for our wedding...or even one until we were able to afford one, to pleased with the perfect compliment to an already beautiful ring. I cannot thank the jewelers enough!! They do all their work on site which saves time and also cuts down the cost...they didn't over charge us at all either!! Overall I have to say I am MORE than pleased!! Highly recommended!!
