I literally can only say the absolute BEST things about DeOndre! After our first conversation with him, we knew he had the same vision as us. DeOndre is extremely responsive and overall his customer service is phenomenal! The star of the show is his craft and being a great DJ! He took our ideas, as limited as they were, and executed flawlessly. From the guests entering the venue, to cocktail hour music, to the endless dancing on the dance floor, DeOndre had everyone captivated. I am still talking about how amazing the music was. Our guests are still talking about how amazing the music was. When the end of the night came around, I was genuinely sad he had to stop playing. A DJ like no other!! DeOndre was hands down the best DJ we could've had for our wedding. His playlist he used was the reason our dance floor was PACKED the entire night. We had numerous people come up to us during and after our wedding saying he was the best DJ they've ever heard at a wedding. Words can't describe how thankful we are!

DeOndre DJ’d our wedding and we could not have been happier with how everything went! DeOndre met with us several times before our ceremony to make sure the song selection and run of show were perfect. Music is such an important part of any event and we wanted something very special for our wedding. In the past I haven’t been super inspired or impressed by wedding DJ’s, so I crossed my fingers and hoped that the one we hired would be “good enough”. From the first meeting with DeOndre it was clear that we hired someone exceptional and so much more than “good enough”. It’s clear that DeOndre loves his work and takes great care in the planning of his events. I knew he was our guy when he was concerned about the height of the speakers relative to where our wedding guests would be seated, and wanted the sound to be perfect. His voice in the mic throughout the evening was butter and brought both a cool, relaxing vibe, as well as an invitation to dance and party when the time was right. Dre is the best! I am a wedding planner and also a customer! As a planner, I am VERY selective on the DJs I work with. I'm always afraid to land with someone who doesn't know how to read the crowd, ignores the selections from the couple, or is that cringy "cheesy" DJ. Dre is NONE of those things! Deondre was my wedding DJ and MC that took place June 2023 (last week)! My girlfriend at the time (now wife) attended the Bridal Bazaar a few years ago and Deondre caught her attention because of a nice mix that he did between two songs. The two songs that he mixed was "Call Me Maybe" - Carly Rae Jepsen and "Cheerleader" - Omi. Such a great mix and it really sold her on choosing him as our DJ for our special day. Deondre was very professional and accommodating throughout our planning that took about 2-3 years. Email was our main avenue of communication and Dre was professional, genuine, and understanding throughout the entire process. The best part was my surprise that I wanted to hold for my wife at our wedding reception. It was difficult because I had to keep it secret and also, I added this a bit last minute about 2-3 weeks prior to the wedding event. I wasn't sure if this performance was going to be possible, but thankfully, we were able to organize it together alongside the coordinator. He was able to provide me with the mic stands and other equipment needed for my performance and it turned out literally like a movie. So thank you Dre for doing that for me. I HIGHLY recommend Deondre and I can't wait to have another event with him again in the future. His music selection was great. We were also able to create a playlist of songs that were our personal requests that we wanted to play during our open dance floor. He offers great options on who can requests it during his set, but we opted for OUR requests only and to ignore everyone else :) -- because you know, things happen so fast during a reception so great songs are a must. And the songs choice that were played really showcased my wife and I's personality and people loved it. Dre, I thank you so much once again for such a splendid and unforgettable event. I have heard many DJ's in my lifetime, but Dre's effort and respect he has for his craft is second to none. Thank you for being a part of my forever and I hope to see you again soon. DeOndre was an outstanding DJ/Emcee for our wedding back in 9/2022! We found him through attending another wedding and are so glad we did. From start to finish he was professional, organized, and genuinely invested in making sure he gave us the best experience possible. We booked Dre for a wedding a couple years ago, but it got pushed out so we finally had our wedding last week. He did a phenomenal job by keeping the energy up with our crowd and us. He remembered everything we told him all the music genres that we liked and dislike so he could stay away from those. He’s definitely a great crowd reader so if your crowd isn’t enjoying the music, he can switch it up so fast and get everybody back out on the dance floor. He takes great control over the situation. I am very pleased with the outcome of our event. A lot of it has to do with the music that we played and Dre did a great job if you need a DJ and you’re on the fence on someone definitely give this guy a call because he will go above and beyond and he always makes it happen. DeOndre was an amazing DJ for our wedding in May 2023! Our wedding guests told us all night how great his set was. He kept us on the dance floor, offered professional and poised commentary to keep the night moving; arrived early for setup and offered an easy-to-use web tool to share our music preferences and day-of timeline. He listened and played only music/genres we requested. Highly recommend!

We loved working with DeOndre for our wedding! We had multiple video chats leading up to the wedding and several specific requests for what we wanted and he truly accomodated everything. One guest said she felt like he took her on a "spiritual musical journey" on our wedding night. We also asked for lots of music in Hebrew since I had family coming from Israel and he easily accommodated this. My sister sang out first dance and he went out of his way to text her to meet for sound check and make sure everything ran smoothly. He is professional and also sets the tone for a really fun night. Can not say enough good things!

DeOndre truly goes above and beyond as a wedding DJ and emcee, and delivered a knockout performance for our wedding. My wife and I initially had a couple of video chats with him and were impressed at the level of detail he can go into about music and even the subliminal effects it can have on the guests of an event. We had a number of nerdy touches to our wedding and loved that he was so into it. We also had lots of obscure music requests for the ceremony and cocktail hour/dinner, and he delivered them with ease, without us ever needing to worry about it. He took the time to get to know us, we had a great time chatting with him, and it showed in the wedding that we got along great. DeOndre met with us on video chats to plan out the music & vibe, and emailed us periodically to lead us through the process. He was totally flexible in terms of letting us directly add songs to his website portal's like, love, and do not like lists. We could have planned out the whole playlist, or just given him a genre or general vibe and let him fill in the specific songs in the moment. He let us choose whether to allow song requests from guests or not, from whom, etc. He gave us total freedom, while also giving us great advice based on his experience. He handled music from before the wedding started (some nice string music prior to the ceremony, which was a nice touch to welcome people) to the very end. He also was a great emcee who initiated all the transitions to the next phase e.g. where to get cocktails, when to sit down for dinner, when to line up for buffet, when the dancefloor is open to all, last call, last song, etc. plus did a great job of introducing the wedding party, parents, bride & groom, etc. and did a great job of getting everyone excited! He also provided the necessary microphones & speakers for the ceremony and the lights for the dancefloor. He even lent me a pin for my suit on the day of that matched our theme, which was a great touch! He really does do it all. Lots of friends are still raving about the music at the wedding and saying "take me back!". He even got my wife's great grandmother onto the dance floor! If you are reading this and he is free on your date, hiring him is a no-brainer!

Music was one of the things I was worried about when my husband and I started planning for our wedding. I loved dancing and music in general but didn't have any confidence in creating a playlist that all my guests would enjoy and when we started planning music genres for different stages within the wedding day-night...I was at a loss. Thankfully, DeOndre relieved all of my fears and concerns because he truly is a professional and is full of talent. I gave him a few ideas of what I envisioned and how the music could contribute to it and DeOndre delivered. I found myself swaying and dancing the entire night (even during dinner!!) because he nailed my music taste right on the head and it fit with our wedding theme perfectly. Deondre is the BEST. I am a wedding photographer by trade and have worked with hundreds of Djs. When it came time for me to book one for my own wedding there wasn’t a question in my mind about who I was going to call. Out of every dj I have ever worked with, he is unmatched. His mixing skills are just insane, he is a great MC, and he kept my party going until the last possible moment. Hire him immediately… I promise there isn’t better in san diego.

DJ DeOndre Essex of Dre Motion Entertainment was such an incredible part of our event! In addition to the initial call, we had 1 planning phone call to go over all of the details we submitted to the form on his website and he took care of everything from there. He's incredibly professional - he's more than a DJ. He's a performer and really is able to adjust to the style and tone of your event. We went through all the details by completing a detailed form to provide him with a lot of information about us, our bridal party, and our preferences. He then took that information and was able to put together an incredible flow for our event, including introductions/announcements/reception traditions (like bouquet toss), etc. He's thorough and will give you examples of different tones he can use for intros, etc. and he'll be as involved in getting your party going as you want. You'll also get a client login to his website where you can make song selections and another login for your guests to make requests ahead of time (we included the link on our wedding website/RSVP page). ALL of our guests commented how awesome he was and how good our music was. Months later, we're still having people tell us how much fun they had dancing at our reception and that's all because of DeOndre. We gave him a sense of what we liked but gave him the space to do his thing and he delivered! He's great at his craft, so let him get creative and you will not be disappointed. We also utilized his lighting services. We did uplighting and pinpoint lighting on our cake. It was all perfect and we highly recommend using him for lighting because he basically sets the entire mood with his lights/sounds.

Deondre helped us pick the perfect songs, created custom uplighting to match the ambiance of the moment, got out on the dance floor with us and even he made us a custom ceremony blend and first dance mash up (and executed it flawlessly). BEST DJ EVER! Music was probably my highest priority for our wedding and DeOndre hit it out of the park! I knew he was the real deal from his videos and was even more impressed after our first video conference with him. His website is very user-friendly and easy to upload your requests. I wish we could have another reception just to have DeOndre again! Our group danced so hard that the dance floor broke. Everybody was dancing the entire time, which is exactly what we wanted! It was so much fun. People could not stop talking about how great of a dance party it was. All props to DeOndre! He is an amazing MC as well, very professional. My wife and I could not be happier with DJ DeOndre and Dre Motion Entertainment for helping make our wedding day the best day of our lives. I knew from the day I interviewed him that he was our guy. He is a true professional through and through. Picking a DJ is probably the most important vendor selection of the wedding process and you can’t go wrong with this man! He was extremely organized and process oriented, probably because of his military background, and he has veteran skills mixing music, with a big personality to make him the total package. The important details (song selections, flow of the event) were discussed beforehand, but he was able to feed off of the guest’s energy during the moment and keep the party going. His online tool was so helpful while we were gearing up for the big day. He also allowed some customization, like using different “walk out” songs for each bridesmaid/groomsmen combo. He took control of the room as a true professional and made sure everyone left a sweaty mess from hitting the dance floor. Again, thank you DeOndre, and to anyone making the important choice of picking a DJ, look no further...he’s the man!

What can I say that has not already been said? As someone who does not have a big appreciation for music, I can honestly say that you can not make a better decision than to hire DeOndre. I used to think being a DJ was easy. I mean, make a spotify playlist, plug in your phone, push play. I could not have been more wrong. Watching him work and seemlessly mix music on the spot was amazing. However, the thing that left me the most in awe and gave me a newfound respect for the craft was how he was able to read the vibe of the crowd and move on to the next song in order to keep the dance floor alive. I cannot thank him enough for being a huge part of why our wedding was a massive success.

Morning dawned on the first bazaar of the year, and before its doors milled thousands of prospective customers, all eager to see what lay beyond the gleaming silver portals. In the midst of the crowd stood a group of adventurers, two female and two male. The ladies had joined forces to outfit their individual expeditions, and had dragged their somewhat unwilling male companions along. The doors finally opened, and they were briefly dazzled by bright lights and sounds. The entire hall was filled from end to end with rows of neat and orderly stalls. Vendors stood before each booth, all vying for one's attention. Some were selling or renting equipment, but there were also mercenaries offering their services for a fee. While the ladies began flitting from booth to booth, seeing what would benefit their parties best, one of the male companions, trudging along in the back, suddenly stopped. He noticed a booth that the others had overlooked. A single bard stood there, with only a table and his instrument before him. There were bards for hire aplenty this in market, but most had pre-recorded renditions of their songs. This one was performing live, his fingers dancing across the switches and buttons. His body was constantly in motion, and he was completely enthralled in his own music. The group stopped and spoke with him. He was an experienced mercenary, skilled in both the ways of the sword and the board. And in a live demonstration, he managed to seamlessly intertwine all of their individual tastes in music in an unbroken medley. A decision was made. The ladies hired him for BOTH of their parties, and none of them had any regrets. He was a true asset to each group, and would be for any others who needed a talented bard who would light up the field with his songs. ------------------- No, seriously guys, DeOndre is THE person you want to hire for your wedding, or really any event where you need a rad emcee with a golden voice who can also mix music that everyone will be able to get down to. He also is a big D&D and general gaming nerd, which was perfect because my now-husband and I were planning a hugely geeky wedding. For example, my husband wanted to walk down the aisle to the "Terran Two" song from Starcraft, and I wanted a specific song from Legend of Mana, etc. I only provided the song titles and the ceremony was absolutely flawless. He also played instrumental arrangements from video games for the pre-ceremony music, and our equally geeky guests really enjoyed trying to identify which games the songs were from. For the reception, I wasn't a fan of the idea of our guests clinking glasses to get us to kiss, so I arranged a game instead. I got a giant d20, and I asked DeOndre to play the role of Dungeon Master/DM and introduce our guests to the rules of the game. (Basically, they had to hit a natural 20 to get us to kiss.) Of course, DeOndre absolutely delivered, with the all of the gravitas and drama one would expect of a DM. Last but not least, DeOndre was an amazing DJ, and kept the guests who loved to dance on the floor. He knows exactly what the people want to hear! And I wasn't kidding in my story above, my friend and I both hired DeOndre for our weddings. We received so many compliments about him from our guests, and a friend who went to both our weddings got engaged recently and wants to have him at hers! Just hire him for all of your geeky and non geeky weddings and events! He will surely lead your party to success.

DeOndre is amazing! From the initial introductions and planning through end of the reception, he was truly wonderful to work with. He took our input and ideas and turned them into the best party with the greatest vibe! Our family and friends were on the dance floor all night, and are still talking about how much fun they had and how great the music was. He really knows how to read a room and how to keep everyone engaged. Definitely go for the up-lighting as well; it really helps set the mood and was a great touch. DeOndre was amazzzinggg!!!! He was our DJ/Emcee at our wedding this past November! From the time I schedule the appointment to meet with him till the very end of the reception, DeOndre was on point! He was so professional, fun, and sooo great at what he does! In our first meeting he was getting to know me and what type of music I liked and what I was hoping the vibe to be like at the reception...a few minutes later..BOOM! He mixed on the spot exactly what I was hoping for! Our ceremony and reception were in two different locations, and DeOndre took care of both! He was so organized and knew the schedule so well! All the songs we chose were played exactly when they needed to. We also added the light features and GOBO to our reception which was sooooo fun! It made everything look so great! The lights changed with the dancing, and the GOBO shown beautifully on our dance floor! We definitely recommend DeOndre for your next event!! He takes partying to the next level!!
