Overall we would recommend his services, we just have a few small qualms that I am leaving here at the end because we know overall most wedding photographers have great reviews, and sometimes the small negative things can be important in making a decision. These "complaints" only mildly reduced our satisfaction with the final product. First, Guillermo and his wife (his shooting assistant), are friendly, but not the easiest to work with. They can be a bit disorganized when searching for the "perfect" shot which led to a lot of running back and forth during our pre-ceremony shoot trying to cram everything in. We had pretty standard requests (shots with bride and groom, family, and wedding party), but it still took a full hour and a half out in the sun before the ceremony even began. The duration was planned ahead of time, so it's not like it was a surprise, but in retrospect it could have been much more efficient with more organization. What's more, we filled out this long list of all the specific shots we wanted ahead of time (bride/groom/grandparents, bride/groom/parents, etc.) to ensure everything was covered the day of, which I thought was wonderful; however, the day of the wedding him and his wife didn't check off the list as we went through, so half way through they were asking us which we had and hadn't done and everyone was trying to remember and keep it all straight. I think we got everything in the end but it was definitely an unnecessary stress. Finally, it was a little disappointing that there were almost no shots in the final product from the non-dancing guests at the reception. Nearly everything was of the dance floor, so some of our older relatives didn't make it into any shots. The dancing definitely had some amazing shots so I understand why that was the focus, but we would have preferred at least some time spent with the sitting guests. If you want the rest of the reception covered, not just the dance floor, specify this ahead of time with Guillermo. To sum up, if your main priority is stunning photography, Guillermo is an excellent choice. However, if you're looking for a completely seamless experience where the photography runs smoothly without much oversight on your part, you might want to consider exploring other photographers within their company.

We utilized 1 photographer for 10 hours on our wedding day at a very competitive rate but no sacrificing quality. The image processing was fantastic with about a 6 week turnaround from each shoot. We will definitely use them for future photo sessions and recommend to all in the St. Louis area.

wedding day was extremely hot (95? 100?…duh, STL in July), Gara took wonderful photos; my husband and I both expected that we’d look tired and sweaty in every shot. Somehow, we don’t! (Okay, there are a few, but the majority we look just fine!) I attribute 90% of this to Gara’s skill—she is intuitive and able to capture people at their best angles, and she is ready to hop in a car and go “off-location” for a 10-minute photo set. (It was a couple of blocks away, but still!) Plus, she takes a LOT of photos which leaves plenty of room for subjects (like me) to “ruin” a shot and still have a ton of nice ones to choose from. Gara did a bang-up job, and before the end of the wedding, we were happy to call her a friend and guest—not just “our photographer.” Guillermo promptly sent us a flash drive with all of our pictures, and he was extremely accommodating and communicative from the beginning, when we initially discussed hiring Dream Light. I had a really wonderful experience, and it was 100% worth the money. (They have competitive pricing, too.) Thank you, Guillermo! And, again, thank you so, so much for capturing our wedding, Gara!💖
