I found Josh on Theknot.com and scheduled our first meeting with him. He was new to the business and showed me photos he had taken for a previous wedding. His prices seemed reasona...
ble and his candid style of photography was what I was looking for. He was flexible in terms of payment schedules and packages. Ours included an engagement photo session which was the perfect opportunity for us to engage with him. The session seemed to go well. He took many pictures of us at the beach however, when it came time to deliver the finished product, there were only about 10 pictures for us to choose from. This was not nearly enough for us to make a guest book album. He agreed to do another shoot for free. I had complete confidence in him when my wedding day arrived. He had an assistant there with him to shoot anything he might miss or need help with. We payed him to shoot throughout the entire day. During the reception I found myself constantly looking for him in order to take a picture of my friends and I. Towards the end of the night he was busy sitting and flirting with a friend of mine for about 30 minutes. This was slightly annoying as I did not want to interrupt in order to get him to take pictures. The reception ended at 1am. He stated that he would have the pictures ready for me to view within a few days. Two days later, my husband received a voicemail from Josh asking for him to call. My husband returned his call and Josh very nonchalantly stated that he had bad news. He let us know that after leaving the wedding he and his assistant went to eat (even though I paid for a plate for each of them during dinner), and that their equipment had been stolen out of the back seat of his car. This included every single photo that he had just taken of my wedding. He claimed that with the money we had paid him, he could put together a photo album with the photos our guests had taken. The thought of this was ridiculous. Many of my family members didn't bring their camera because they were in the wedding party and I had assured them it would not be necessary since I was paying a large sum to have a photographer there the entire night. I chose not to have a videographer because I trusted his work. Anyway, we asked for him to return our money, not that this makes up for anything. He has requested to pay us back in monthly payments. Throughout this entire ordeal he has acted very apathetic and insensitive. He does not seem to be apologetic and this is what angers me most. I am left without any professional wedding photos to show my future children due to his lack of common sense. He was irresponsible and unprofessional and I would hate for this to happen to anyone else. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought this could even be a possibility. I am beyond devastated and am even considering taking further action.
This guy is amazing. To start I was short notice and busy with work, and Josh was always accomodating. We met twice before the wedding, and that was enough for me to feel completel...
y comfortable with leaving him in charging of shooting my big day. He spent almost 12 hours with us, and he never stopped shooting. He took around 800 amazing pictures and printed about 200 on site for us to hand out as party favors. Everyone was very impressed with the quality of his work. His prices are some of the best I have seen and his work ethic and the quality of his pictures are a lot better then many of the other outrageously expensive options. I would def. recommend using him for your big day.
