Drop Dead Gorgeous- On Location Hair and Makeup

Hayley has been a pleasure to work with since I booked her last July for our October 13 wedding. The bridal party received endless compliments on our hair and makeup - no on was too "done up" and everyone looked perfect! Hayley was timely with communications and made me feel at ease, especially on the wedding day - everything was on time and even ahead of schedule. Would definitely recommend!

Oh my goodness!! You must have Drop Dead Gorgeous do your hair and make-up. They move quickly in the morning (and are extremely punctual), are very sweet, do an amazing job, and my whole bridal party, my mom, my step-daughters, and my husband's mom and sister looked absolutely 'drop dead gorgeous.' :) We loved having them to our hotel suite, and the girls loved it. Most of my people got hair and make-up, but a couple opted to just get their hair done, and this was not a big deal at all. I had one bridesmaid ask to re-do her hair, and I had my make-up slightly redone (it was a little heavy for me) and they did so quickly and it looked exactly how we both had imagined. They were awesome and so talented! My hair looked even better than the picture I showed them (bring pictures of front/back of hair and how you'd like your make-up to look to assist them). I didn't do a hair trial because they had done my hair/make-up for a friend's wedding, but I kind of wish I had done so just to try other options even though I already kind of knew what I wanted. Book them now!

I was so worried about getting my hair and makeup done for my wedding due to bad experiences in other weddings I’ve stood up in. Hayley definitely put my mind at ease and proved me wrong. She did an amazing job during my trial and made me feel absolutely beautiful on my wedding day! My makeup and hair looked just as good at the end of the night as it did in the beginning. Hayley and her team did an amazing job with hair and makeup for our wedding day. She was professional and responsive when it came to scheduling a trial run and very timely the day of the wedding as well. Hayley's efficiency kept everything on schedule the morning of the wedding--we even had time to spare for extra photos! She offered great recommendations while also ensuring that everyone was happy with their desired look. Each one of my bridesmaids said it was the best wedding hair and makeup that they have ever had!

My advice to any bride looking for professional make up services is to go with Drop Dead Gorgeous!!!! I cannot even begin to explain how BEAUTIFUL their work is. My bridesmaids looked flawless, and I got so many compliments on my hair and makeup throughout the night I truly felt like a princess :) Hayley also put my worries to rest the day of when she texted me first thing in the morning just to let me know that they were on their way. It's something so small but immediately puts you at ease knowing they're on the way. They showed up early, and finished before the set time with excellent results. I cannot thank them enough and I feel so luck to have found a wonderful company to fulfill this service on my wedding day!

My trial run was ah-maxing. I was so impressed with the beauty of my hair and makeup, it was everything I dreamed of. Hayley took her time and I was in absolute love. On the day of my wedding, my service felt rushed. My hair did NOT look like my trial. I asked for corrections and she kind of just pinned it and said that it couldn’t be fixed the way I wanted. I’m not a bridezilla, and didn’t make a big deal out of it like I probably should have: my hair was by no means horrible, but it wasn’t what I was delivered or expecting after my amazing trial. While this didn’t ruin my day, in hindsight I’m just sad that I didn’t end up having the hair of my dreams on my big day, but it is what it is.

We scheduled the trial and she did a perfect job combining the pictures I brought of hair I liked. Haley and her team were beyond amazing for my wedding on 4/1/17! Her salon in Ferndale is cute and easy to get to for the trial. She always answered emails very quickly and had so much helpful information. The day of could have not gone more flawless. Everything was organized, prepared and on time which was so nice! She arrived at our venue early with her assistant and they got through everyone in a quick and efficient manner without compromising on quality. Hayley did an awesome job on mine and my bridal parties hair and makeup. None of us are big on makeup which can make it hard when artists are used to girls loving makeup but everyone's looked super natural and great. Not only was Hayley early on my wedding day, she also finished at least an hour before schedule which was super nice and gave us time to relax. I spent quite some time searching for the perfect hair and makeup people for my big day and I'm so lucky I went with DDG! Haley is so reasonably priced and does an AMAZING job! She was super professional and was so ready to hear what I envisioned for me and my girls! Haley and her staff are absolutely amazing. I did my wedding day hair and makeup and trial with her and had her do two bridesmaids, a mother and three sisters as well on the wedding day. Her prices are very reasonable, her style is so modern and beautiful and she is so flexible and easy to work with. I felt totally confident entrusting my wedding day hair and makeup to her after looking at her website and reading reviews and I have to say I was even more delighted when I saw the finished product. I have never felt so beautiful in my whole life. She did such a beautiful job on my hair and makeup and all of the girls in my wedding party as well. Her natural talent, knowledge of the look I was going for (even if I didn't have the ability to describe it exactly) and ability to listen to my ideas and incorporate them made for such a beautiful and unique finished product. I wanted to look similar to other styles I'd seen but with my own personality and look and she pulled it off flawlessly. She was also so very flexible with all the craziness on the wedding day and worked so efficiently and calmly throughout the day. I would highly recommend her to any new brides in the area .

Hayley is a pro! She did such an amazing job with my wedding party and I would recommend her in a heart beat! For starters, she showed up on time and finished EARLY so we had extra time for pictures. This girl really hustles. She was super flexible with my trial and was able to give me exactly what I asked for based on pictures I had even though I probably changed my mind 5 times. She is very patient and does a quality job while making sure that you are happy with the results before leaving you. Everyone looked amazing!

Hayley and her staff were absolutely phenomenal! I can't say enough wonderful things about them. They were on time, FAST (8 people for both hair and make up in 4-4.5 hrs comfortably), professional and extremely talented. She definitely captured what I was thinking and able to bring my vision to life! The up-dos stayed up the whole night, despite all the dancing and moving around. She does airbrush make up and it looked amazing on the girls. Did not smudge or anything, even with many episodes of many tears and a hot august day in Michigan! 5/5 stars without hesitation.

If a big event is in your future and you've stumbled across this review, chances are you've already started the marathon of poring over multiple vendors, taking way too many screenshots, and trying to remain impartial before thoroughly weighing pros and cons of your potential vendors (though the one with more $$ next to it is almost always the one you want!). But fear not! As someone who has been there and made it to the other side, I can confidently attest to the many reasons why The Knot recognized Drop Dead Gorgeous a "Best of Weddings" beauty vendor -- this team checked all of the boxes and more. First off, Hayley is very personable and was very responsive to all of my inquiries, from before initiating a contract all the way up until the day before the wedding. The first time we met was during the hair and makeup trial (highly encouraged!), where she was able to take a few of the photos I had sent her a few days before and translate it beautifully in a way that complimented my features. The day of my wedding, Hayley and Melissa arrived at my doorstep ahead of schedule and proceeded to work 10 individual hair and makeup appointments in parallel without breaking a sweat. Hayley didn't even take a break to eat. Like true professionals, they not only took tasteful, creative license when necessary (e.g. a "loose up-do" request) , but they also executed specific or very detailed requests. Importantly, our makeup photographed beautifully and lasted all day, despite the humid weather. Hayley, I cannot thank you enough. Hayley did such a wonderful job and was one of the best decisions I made on the wedding day. I'm so indecisive and Hayley drove out to the middle of nowhere to do two trial runs for me! She always answered emails promptly and gave her input, which I really appreciated. She brought one other make-up artist (who was equally as talented and awesome) for my group of ten women and they were done with hair an make up before schedule. All my bridesmaid's hair and make-up lasted all night long and they didn't stop talking about how much they all loved their looks. I honestly wish I could hire Hayley to do my hair and make up every day!

They arrived to my wedding venue promptly and worked efficiently to stay on schedule. I wanted a slight variation to my hair from what was done at my trial, and Hayley delivered flawlessly! I loved that Hayley came to my apartment to do my hair trial before the big day. She really listened to what I wanted and was easily accommodating when I asked for changes (both on the day of the trial and the day of the wedding). She was also super fast at responding to emails. She understood very well what I was asking for and both hair and makeup were beautiful. (She's also a really nice person!) Loved the airbrushing foundation, loved her skill with fish braiding. She was very patient with me while I ran around the venue securing a few things before arriving in the hair/makeup chair. She also waited around while I got into my dress to reset a special hair clip I bought. I didn't get a lip pencil for touch ups, but looking at photos I don't think I needed one.

Hayley is so incredibly sweet and a fun addition to my wedding day prep in the morning. I was nervous booking hair and makeup for all of my bridesmaids, my mom, and myself, because we had ALL had at least one bad experience with wedding makeup before (too cakey or fake looking). However, I'm so happy I did, because all of my girls looked STUNNING and I felt incredible after seeing myself done up. Hayley and her team were so easy to talk with and created exactly what each of us had wanted (only better). I was bad the day of and couldn't find the picture of the hairstyle I had seen and wanted to try (after I'd already had my trial) but Hayley was able to take what I was describing and make it happen! The reaction we got from EVERY guest was "WOAH! You guys look amazing!" The makeup was natural looking and accented my features beautifully. I could not recommend them more, and the only regret I have is that they couldn't stay for mimosas after! Perfect work on my big day!

I had a small ceremony, (more like an elopement) and Hayley made me and my sister feel like we were the most important people in the world. My sister and I are both perfectionists and a bit picky and she listened to every little suggestion we had. Her goal was to make us happy and let me tell you, she succeeded!!! A year before the wedding I spent FOREVER looking for hair/makeup artist to travel to Macomb County and was only finding companies that were way out of my budget. Found DDG through a Google search and booked with Hayley about a year out....best choice I made! She was quick in responding to any and all emailed questions I asked her and did a wonderful job with myself, bridesmaids and my mother. If I do say so myself, everyone looked STUNNING! The airbrush make up and stood the test against tears, the humidity and a night of dancing! With both the trial and wedding day, she arrived prompt and was extremely professional but also fun and friendly, definitely a great match with our bridal party...I can't wait to find an occasion where I can call on her awesome skills again!

Working with Hayley and the rest of the girls on my wedding day was one of the best decisions I made! They made the morning of my wedding a perfect experience. Hayley is AMAZING!! My daughter and I hired her to do our hair and makeup for my daughter's wedding. Neither of us wear makeup, so we wanted to find a way to look flawless and still feel like ourselves. Hayley really took her time working with us to find the look we felt comfortable with. She never minded adding or removing something and the final looks were great and we got so many compliments on our hair and makeup and everything held up all night! I spent months trying to find the perfect hair and makeup stylist, so when I finally came across Drop Dead Gorgeous my fingers were crossed and I was praying to the gods that they still had an opening for my wedding on October 17th. Hayley was a god send, she was pleasant from the start and was always so positive. Her prices were extremely reasonable and her work is absolutely amazing. But Hayley and her team worked at such a great speed and with fantastic results(and at a great price)! Also the communication between myself and Hayley was great!
