DSO LIT DJS

I was recently married to the love of my life on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the Delta Hotels by Marriott in Somerset, New Jersey. I had roughly 70-75 guests. DJ Disan began playing the wrong entrance music four different times. When the dee-jay made his announcements, no one could understand him due to his heavy accent. Everyone just bared with him on that. During the officiating of our nuptials, DJ Disan interrupted the officiant, who is a pastor and close friend of my wife's family, with a record scratching sound. I nearly lost it. The volumes on the mics were not at the right level the entire event. I took a 900-hr Recording Engineering and Production course in NYC many years ago. I never once saw anyone who is dee-jaying make the mistakes I heard that day. To make matters worse, DJ Disan did not play 90% of the music we had made a list of. Many dee-jays play a combination of records and use their laptops to stream music. Much of the music played was repeated songs already played. I watched the dee-jay on a call a few times, long before taking pictures of my event. We had the in-house catering folks feed him as a courtesy. Yet we did not get a fair shake. DJ Disan left many of our guests in their seats, and many of those same guests were leaving because of the music. I just noticed he did not so much as reach out to apologize, nor give back half the money he was paid. The only time anyone got up to dance was when he played two good R&B classics, three spanish classics, and four party songs, which DJ Disan had taken the opportunity to take pictures of.
