Meet Derrick — Your Photographer & Storyteller Hi, I’m Derrick — a wedding and family photographer based in the beautiful Spokane Valley, Washington. First things first, thank you for being here. Photography, for me, is more than clicking a shutter. It’s about connection, intention, and preserving moments that matter. Whether I’m capturing the quiet glance between a bride and groom before their ceremony or the contagious laughter of a child in their parents' arms, I approach each session with the same dedication: to tell your story authentically, beautifully, and honestly. A Bit About My Journey. Before diving full-time into photography, I proudly served 10 years in the United States Air Force. That time taught me discipline, attention to detail, and how to stay calm under pressure — all qualities I now bring to every session and wedding I photograph. From coordinating fast-paced military operations to managing unexpected curveballs on a wedding day, I know how to handle chaos with grace and keep things running smoothly. After the military, I found myself drawn to the art of storytelling — not just with words, but with images. I started photographing families, friends, and eventually weddings. The more I shot, the more I realized this was where I was meant to be. Today, I’m a part-time photographer, dad to two beautiful daughters, and lover of all things adventure, connection, and creativity. My girls remind me every day how quickly life moves — and how essential it is to freeze those fleeting, meaningful moments.
