ours from the OBX, so we had to conduct a majority of planning remotely. From the start, we loved the Duck Woods property during our first tour and decided to hold both the ceremony and reception onsite. The mens/ladies locker rooms where we all got ready, was spacious and had everything we needed. The grounds are gorgeous and worked beautifully as the backdrop for our ceremony as well as for photos. The ballroom was perfect for hosting a reception of our 116 guests - high ceilings, neutral colors, and the rectangular room was conducive so that no matter where guests were sitting, they could view the dance floor in the middle (an important decision factor based on other venues we looked at.) Most of all, the staff at DWCC was absolutely incredible. The Function Director, Sara, was an angel to work with. Even though a hurricane came through a week before our wedding, she worked tirelessly to ensure that all of our little details came to fruition. She went above and beyond her duties, including lighting our candle center pieces since we didn't have a day-of coordinator and working seamlessly with our other event partners. The chef, Joey, was a ball of energy, creating a fabulous menu and added a personal touch by checking in with us during the reception. Overall, the staff was accommodating and pleasant to work with, making us feel like part of their family. I would definitely recommend Duck Woods Country Club to all couples who are looking at OBX for their wedding day.
