But our engagement photos were amazing, showing many different sides of us and our relationship. I think that speaks tremendously of Duy's consistency and true talent. We both fell in love with his work and knew he was the photographer that we wanted to capture our special day. And we were lucky enough that he was still available (probably because we got a head start and booked him almost a year and a half in advance). Anyways, my husband and I are so grateful to have had Duy as our photographer for our wedding on August 18, 2018. We had such a wonderful experience with Duy from beginning to end. We first did our engagement shoot with Duy back in October of 2017. This gave us a sense of his techniques and also how it would be like to work with Duy and we love him! He made it such an easy and fun session for the both of us and on top of that, the photos came out beautifully. Our save the date magnets and photo guestbook looked absolutely amazing! I couldn’t be happier with them. Not only is he a great photographer that takes a lot of amazing photos, he is also super sweet. He would take the time to check up on us from time to time to see how our wedding planning is going and to make sure we’re doing okay and if we had any questions for him. Before our big day, he called us to go over the timeline along with understanding our priorities and gave us tips. My hubby and I really appreciated that. On our wedding day, Duy and his team were all very professional and fun to work with. They were punctual, patient, efficient with time and just made it such a stress-free day for us. They went around to look for a perfect spot for us to do our first look so we didn’t have to worry about that. We basically did not have to worry about a single thing. They knew exactly what to do and kept us on schedule. It was nice being a bride that didn’t have to worry about anything and knowing that everything was taken care of. We received our wedding pictures about a month after our wedding and let me just say, he captured all the moments beautifully. Every time I look at my pictures, I relive the moments over and over again. They exceeded our expectations in every way possible. These photos are pretty much magazine quality photos and each photo left us breathless. They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, and it really was, but so is our wedding photographer. He was well-spoken and walked us through his process and his work. Duy photographed both our engagement session and wedding day. Throughout the entire process, he was so patient and guided us on how to be comfortable in front of the camera. On the day of the wedding, we were so impressed with his execution. Our wedding venue was big so it took a lot of effort to coordinate. His team came equipped with walkie-talkies to communicate with one another about wedding details, lighting, and next steps. We didn’t realize the amount of effort that it took. And here is a few reasons why Duy stands apart from the rest: 1. He is extremely professional and organized - prompt to reply all emails/queries even while out of the country 2. We are not really used to having our photos taken beyond your typical “cheeeese” but that wasn’t a problem for Duy as for formal photos he directed us to what looked best and the rest were just organic and natural which created for an even more beautiful product. And the quality is just outstanding! When booking with Duy you’re not just booking somebody to document your wedding, your booking somebody who has the ability to capture all of the love and joy you felt on this special day and to help you feel it over and over again every time you look at his work. A true artist!

s, he also sent us a slideshow of the highlights from our wedding, and we must have watched the slideshow at least twenty times! The photos were that good, and we really felt like we were reliving all the best moments from our wedding. Any corrections that he made to the photos were done in a way that we couldn't tell. For some of the photos, especially those that involved light decorations, he put in effects that really enhanced the atmosphere and made the photos seem magical. Thanks to Duy's photos, we have only happy memories of the wedding. Leading up to and during the wedding, Duy and his assistant, as well as the second photographer, were utmost professionals. He did a great job managing time and being cognizant of how much sunlight we would have throughout the day. Our wedding day was fairly hectic, but Duy made sure to talk us through so that we were in our happy places for all of our photos. We think that really helped make all the photos look very natural. Even the posed photos looked natural and unforced and "in the moment" despite the fact that we were posing. Truth be told, we were initially hesitant because Duy's services were pricier than many of the other photographers we had been considering, but after we met with him, we knew he was the one. He met with us personally for a consultation before we formally booked him, and we could tell from the meeting that he was a genuinely nice person with a lot of expertise shooting weddings. He showed us some albums to look at, and his experience was self-evident. The photography aspect of our wedding was incredibly important to me -- I didn't want a bunch of posed photos or photos that looked like they were run through one of those crazy instagram filters -- I wanted a photographer that could capture candid moments in a photojournalistic style. Duy did exactly that! We spent a lot of time debating photographers and we are so, so happy that we went with Duy. I could go on and on about Duy's artistic talent, but pictures say a thousand words and his portfolio is representative of his work for us-- he captured great candid moments of tears, laughter, and belting Backstreet Boys songs in front of the bar. It seems that Duy was always in the right place without being noticed. In addition to his ridiculous talent, Duy was also incredible to work with. He has an easy-going demeanor and was incredibly responsive to questions (from the time we interviewed him to the day of the wedding). Every time we got off the phone with Duy, I felt like everything was being taken care of -- he has an amazing way of bringing zen to a sometimes crazy endeavor. If I'm being completely candid, I had moments with each of our vendors where I had a bout of anxiety, but that never happened with Duy. If you're looking for a photojournalistic style from an incredibly talented, laid-back, and zen-inducing photographer, you've found him.

We were also looking for a someone with an eye for unconventional and dramatic composition, as well as a gift for conveying candid emotion and putting people at ease. Finally, since the photographer would be with us for the entire day—almost as another member of the bridal party—and corralling many groups of people for portraits, we were hoping for a calm, discreet person who would help everything run as smoothly as possible. Duy was everything we wanted and more. From our engagement shoot to the last photos of the dance floor, he was right where he needed to be, stepping forward to encourage and guide or fading into the background as needed. When we got the proofs, we were stunned—they were even more gorgeous than we had hoped. And when we shared them with our friends and family, they were thrilled. All the key moments, magical interludes and unexpected moments were there. Our guests’ faces glowed, their laughter and tears perfectly preserved. Looking at the images now, we get to relive our wedding day like it was yesterday. It’s a priceless gift, and we have Duy to thank for it.

Duy seemlessly adapts to each moment of your wedding day, which I promise will go by faster than you can imagine. He is a calming and reassuring presence when it is time for groups to come together for formal photos and could easily be mistaken for a guest when it is time for him to blend into the festivities to get documentary shots. On the day of our wedding Duy and his team arrived (a few minutes early in fact) and got right to work, not even considering interrupting the rhythm of the makeup and hair artists and getting photos immediately underway. Further, we planned our Northern California wedding from Virginia and Duy was always immediately responsive to our questions and succinct in his requests for what he needed to be prepared for our big day. I really can't say enough about how pleased we were with Duy and his team. Unfortunately we don't yet have any of our photos outside of the teasers, but if the entirely of our day is of the same quality as the ten that Duy has delivered to us so far, then we will only continue to be exceptionally grateful !

On top of it all, he's exceedingly patient, kind, and responsive. Any stress you may feel leading up to and on your wedding day won't come from him - as soon as we met him, we knew we could trust him to do his thing and it would turn out amazing. Book him as soon as you can, because he's in high demand, and he's worth it!

very subtle rituals and symbolism (all explained in Sanskrit) which can be very difficult to follow, let alone capture in photography. Duy did an amazing job of documenting every step of our Indian wedding, from the baraat (groom's procession) to the reception. His photography style is candid, which we wanted, yet he was very patient in taking all the formal family photos our parents requested. Our family has relived our wedding day many, many times by looking through his photos, and we still get compliments on how well the photographs turned out. Couldn't have asked for a better photographer!

For the engagement session, neither my fiancé or I knew what to expect. We met with Duy in San Francisco and he was great about explaining what he was going to do and how he would work. That didn't stop Duy, though! The shots he captured of us were beautiful and the two of us looked very natural. He managed to capture the best of us. A few days before our wedding, Duy contacted us and had a prep call to very clearly explain what his process would be and what we could expect from him. His thoroughness and professionalism were very much appreciated and helpful as we had no questions on the day. For our wedding, he did all the standard family and group photos and tons of gorgeous artistic photos capturing memories from the whole night. Duy was incredibly flexible, and he took every opportunity to catch meaningful moments, even spur of the moment. Since the wedding, family and friends have been gushing over the photos, saying how they wish they could renew their vows just to have him be the photographer. Best choice ever for a wedding (or any event) photographer!!!

mediately my husband and I wanted to work with him! During our engagement session, Duy put us both right at ease, helping direct us without posing and heavy involvement. He was flexible and creative, drawing inspiration from the scene around him (Lands End and Sutro Baths) and quickly seized opportunities as the lighting changed. The result was dramatic and we had dozens of off-the-charts images from our engagement shoot to use for our Save the Date. On the wedding day, Duy was again, simple and easy to work with. Duy happily worked with our request of an abbreviated portrait session so we could enjoy cocktail hour and found other opportunities throughout the evening to do quick portraits. As for the ceremony and reception, Duy was like a fly on the wall, observing and capturing all that's going on without adding distraction or involving himself -- just like a great photographer should! While our wedding was only a few weeks ago and we haven't yet seen all of our pictures, Duy shared about 20 images to give us a sense of what he had captured on the wedding day. Again, we were floored. From our portraits to the candids, every image is beautiful, soulful, and captures the energy of the moment. I have no doubt we will have a hard time choosing what to put in our wedding album! We would whole-heartedly recommend Duy to anyone looking for a photographer! But, I would book him fast -- he is so wonderfully talent, I'm sure he will book up (and probably raise his rates!) fast because he's on a whole other level from most of the other wedding photographers out there.

nd whether our personalities were going to jive because I knew it was going to be an emotional day. Well after being at his place for half an hour and seeing all of his work, I was sold. He had a great way of framing pictures that makes everything look magnificent. We had our engagement photo shoot with him in December and he was so good to work with. He gave us some really good advice on how to angle our bodies to catch the light and was really good at directing us so that he can get the best shot. He also helped us get comfortable with being in front of a camera as well because he had a really calm personality. He was also really good at being in the right place at the right time because he was able to snap the best candid moments where we were just goofing around. He also shot our Vietnamese Tea Ceremony and of course our wedding day. It was spectacular. And I couldn't had have asked for a better photographer.

We also loved how we could choose the package and price point that was right for us. *TIP* We hired Duy to shoot our engagement photos about 8 months before our wedding. Until this shoot we were nervous about being "photogenic", knowing what to do in front of the camera, and being forced into dorky poses. Our engagement shoot was fun and relaxed and the photos were FANTASTIC. We didn't think we could take one good photo, much less 50!! Seeing the results of the engagement shoot and getting to experience how Duy works, really made us feel very comfortable and assuaged any anxiety we had about the wedding photography. I would highly recommend doing engagement photos first! We also did a trial run with our hair and makeup person for this shoot which was helpful as well. He has done weddings on the beach, country clubs and in the city and in each photo he is really able to capture the best angles, most interesting light, and overall magic of the day. He is very calming and my friends didn't even realize we had a photographer throughout the events. We were able to get photos that look like we literally were in 5 different venues because of Duy's attention to detail, light, and architecture. He finds these very cool angles: making some of the pictures look like high fashion photo shoots but then also capture the serenity of the ceremony. I loved that he did both color and black and white photos. I would absolutely hire Duy again and everyone thought that he did a fabulous job. nd, our photos turned out just as good. We met him before the engagement session, to get to know each other a little bit. He is quite professional, yet makes you feel at ease. This helped at the engagement session, since we were both a bit nervous. In the end, we had a lot of fun, and the pictures turned out amazing. Never having been married before, it helped us immensely to have someone to discuss a bit of logistics with. He took the time to sit down with us and semi-plan the day, with certain knowledge of how long things tend to take (a complete mystery to us). Throughout the several months before the wedding, he kept in contact, very promptly replying to any questions we had. The day of the wedding was equally good. Together with an fellow photographer Scott he had all the angles covered, and produced some amazing photos. There isn't much that can be said beyond going to see the photos yourself on his website, and you should. They will speak for themselves. He captured the feelings of the day, and the beauty of the setting. He was unobtrusive, yet managed to be everywhere, and the results show. All in all, I don't think we could have asked for a single thing more. You can stop looking, you've found the best photographer out there.

Duy captured all of our special moments and was professional throughout the entire day. Prior to our wedding day, Duy made the extra effort to get to know us and figure out what we wanted since we didn't do an engagement shoot with him and we live on the east coast. an amazing location near the beach in San Francisco that allowed us to get many different angles and backdrops within one area. Despite the fact that the bay area fog was in full effect and it quickly became windy, the pictures turned out great. The sincerity and naturalness far surpassed any poor weather conditions. He made us feel comfortable and relaxed throughout the entire shoot. When we got the engagement photos back we were blown away by the number of different composites and looks Duy was able to capture. We immediately opted to utilize one of the photos for our wedding invitations and ordered a large print from him to hang in our home. Duy did us the courtesy of meeting at our wedding venue prior to the wedding to scope out the area as well as surrounding areas for group shots. On the wedding day, he arrived as scheduled with his assistant. From preparation to the last toast, Duy was there to capture every moment we could have hoped for. He and his assistant were courteous to our family and friends and really blended in with the whole ambiance. My husband and I knew that we wanted to do a first look to get the overflow of tears out of the way before the ceremony and to get pictures at a different location than our ceremony/reception site. With the help of Duy, we decided to take photos around the Children's Museum in Tampa. Nearly a year later, I can still hardly fathom how stunning those photos turned out. Taking photos at our ceremony and reception, Duy moved throughout effortlessly, without disturbing the natural feel of things. When it came time to cut the cake, he was even so kind as to tell us how to hold the knife together - something we hadn't even realized we needed to know!
