nge of emotions. Additionally, his operations were impeccably covert as he worked his magic unassumingly through the crowd. It was photographer love at first sight. I had yet to meet the man I would marry but I knew that Rogier would be the one documenting my special day. Fast forward four years. My fiancé and I decided that Bar Harbor would be the perfect host for our wedding. Rogier was the first vendor we contacted once the date and venue were confirmed. Rogier was every bit of what I had remembered. He was professional, easy to work with, responsive and flexible to the vision of how we wanted to look back on one of the most important moments of our life. Having never been on that side of the planning, we looked to Rogier to offer his expert opinion. He did that with grace. The day was ultimately as perfect as it could have been. The photos we now have are beyond spectacular. We recommend Rogier and his team at Eager Eye with the highest regards.

riority. I was lucky enough to have met Rogier van Bakel years ago at my sister’s wedding. Back then I was a bridesmaid. I’m sure I can speak for all the bridesmaids (and bride) and say that we absolutely loved working with Rogier. I was so impressed by the quality of his work, that as soon as I got engaged I told my fiancé I wanted him for our garden wedding. I excitingly emailed Rogier and soon after I had booked him for the big day.
Rogier and I mostly communicated through emails. He was always quick to respond, pleasant, and very helpful in answering my questions. On the day of the wedding, Rogier and his assistant Doug arrived right on time. I greeted him but was quickly pulled away by my flower girl/stepdaughter who needed help with her dress. Rogier immediately started snapping pictures of the two of us and I ended up with a sweet picture of my stepdaughter and I. Rogier truly has an eye for capturing precious moments.
Most of the time, you don’t even notice he’s there. He is so fast in capturing those in-the-moment shots. Not one single picture felt posed or inauthentic. His photos were artistic, candid and above all, fun! My favorite photo was when Rogier took us through the Maine woods. As we trudged through bushes and branches, we finally came to a clearing. Standing in the middle of wild grass that reached our elbows, Rogier snapped away. The result was a breathtaking and visually stunning picture.
I received my photos only ten days (!) after the wedding. My husband and I absolutely love our wedding pictures. Whenever we look at them it puts a big smile on our faces. I cannot recommend Rogier enough. His talent speaks for itself. He truly captured the joy, laughter and love of our special day!

ch, and following just one phone conversation with Rogier, I was ready to hire him. His commitment and dedication to his customers and his work is second to none. He captures the essence of each moment of the day without direction. It was so natural, we didn't even realize he was there a lot of the time. It wasn't until we got our photos back that we said to one another "oh wow, I didn't know Rogier got that shot!".
We eloped, so photography was the biggest expense of the occasion. Money well spent, as we have beautiful photos to share with our family and friends. If I had it to do again, I would not change a thing. It was worth EVERY penny.

sure the lighting is superb. He was not in the way during our day but wasn't afraid to pull us aside for a shot here and there if the lighting was good. Very easy to work with and wonderful with children (I had 11 kids in my wedding!) so if you are having lots of kids, I highly recommend Rogier. Also, I recommend the photo booth - great fun and value!!!

image, but the true emotion behind it. Someone who can blend in with a crowd and catch those subtle moments when you thought nobody was looking, to catch the natural expressions of joy and happiness on your faces.
Rogier has that ability. At our wedding on 17 September 2010, we had the unexpected pleasure of having Rogier there to photograph the event and we could not have been more pleased. Our photographer, a colleague of Rogier, was ill on the day of our wedding and was unable to make it. As the bride, I slightly panicked when I heard the news that we’d have a “replacement” photographer the morning of my wedding. My anxiety quickly melted away when I met Rogier. He immediately fit it; as my mom said “it was like he was meant to be there.”
His soft spoken voice and calm presence made him very easy and such a pleasure to work with. He guided us through the various settings and make sure that we had all of the photos we wanted in the places that we wanted them. Throughout the day, both before and after the ceremony, Rogier was around subtly taking photos of us and our guests, capturing the true essence of the day without all of the guests and wedding party always feeling they were on camera! With such a full schedule, it was great to have someone so easy to work with. We’ve heard nothing but compliments from our friends and family regarding Rogier’s professionalism and friendly personality.
As for the photos, we are beyond happy with the way they have come out thus far. Rogier was able to capture the shots we wanted and so much more. We'll be able to treasure our special day and revisit each wonderful moment forever thanks to his work!
