The food was absolutely incredible. We had our wedding at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens, so East Beach is the required caterer. I initially didn't love being required to work with ...
someone but quickly changed my mine once I tried the food. We got sooooo many compliments on how delicious everything was. So professional, so accommodating, great wait staff, excellent bartenders, truly a dream to work with. Highly recommend, you will not be sorry (and neither will your tastebuds!)
As the bride and groom, we wanted to create a truly unforgettable environment for our big day as we’ve been told it goes by in the blink of an eye! We were fortunate enough to rece...
ive a recommendation from our wedding venue, Norfolk Botanical Gardens, for an incredibly talented catering team, East Beach Catering, who exceeded our every expectation! We interacted with a few different team members from the East Beach Catering, and what struck us most about their team was their ability to capture, transform and bring to life the ideas we had for the vision of our wedding palette without missing a beat. Their attention to detail and artistic eye brought out the smallest, most tender moments that may have otherwise been overlooked. We received so many compliments about the quality of food and service provided by the East Beach Catering team! It’s 52 days later and our guests haven’t stopped raving about the delicious food they received!
Chelsea and her team are not only masters in creation, but they are also true professionals. They arrived on time, maintained a friendly and approachable demeanor, and made every small detail look perfect. The level of communication provided by the East Beach Catering team is impeccable as they were always willing to answer a text, email or call whenever we had a question, so we knew we were in good hands the day of the wedding. They even went above and beyond to assist us in providing a full alcohol shopping list (even when we chose not to use their bar services to save money). They were also true champions to set up (and move from one location to another in between events) many different catering options throughout an outdoor wedding, on July 12th, in Virginia! During our tasting, the East Beach Catering team provided many different ideas and suggestions to make sure we could bring our vision to life in the best and most efficient way possible while staying within budget. They were always willing to take feedback (without taking it to heart) during the tasting and were more concerned with making everything 100% perfect for our big day. They asked an abundance of great questions throughout the process to get a feel for what were our absolute “must haves” and even suggested some things we hadn’t thought of. They took great caution to note allergies and food preferences for guests and even ran some of our favorite cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres to us while we were in a separate location working on getting additional bride and groom portraits.
Working with Chelsea and her team has been an absolute pleasure from first contact until the end of the wedding day. Their exceptional talent, professionalism, and dedication to their craft makes them a stand out choice in the world of wedding catering! We wholeheartedly recommend their services to anyone seeking extraordinary tasty wedding sweets! - The Canavoses
East Beach Catering was the preferred vendor for our wedding venue and let me say, they absolutely did not disappoint! As soon as I called to reserve them, Chelsea, the owner, was ...
so great and answered all my questions. She sent over menus to choose from and we had a great time picking a little from here and there. When we told some of our guests what we had picked, they were so excited to try the food. The food was mouthwatering amazing! The passed hors d’oeuvres were so tasty that I couldn’t stop sampling. They even made sure to bring a tray of hors d’oeuvres out where we were doing pictures after the ceremony so we wouldn’t miss out! And dinner…OMG! We got prime rib, salmon, mashed potato bar, veggies and salad and every single bit was a tiny bit of heaven. The wait staff was so friendly and always had a smile on when they came around. The bartender made our specialty drink even better than I made it at home and everyone at the wedding couldn’t get enough of it! The entire staff, service, and experience was so memorable ❤️
Chelsea was amazing. She helped us get a great quote for the number of people we had and answered any question we had, especially for our guest with allergies. The food was amazing...
, all everyone could say was that the food was so good. The people working the wedding were awesome and helped make sure we got a chance to eat and drink something.

ove. On top of this, my wedding guests have not stopped talking about how this was some of the BEST wedding food they've ever had! The service was incredible and the food was beyond expectations. 10/10 would recommend!
East Beach Catering was one of the best decisions we could've made for our wedding day. They gave us a fantastic tasting before the wedding and from that moment we were sold. When ...
it came to the big day the food was even more exceptional. It has been two weeks since our wedding our guest continue to talk about the food and have told us it is without a doubt some of the best wedding food they've ever had.
They are extremely flexible and were able to make meals for all of dietary restrictions that our guest had from gluten free, to vegetarian, to vegan. They also helped us with our silverware rental's which was a huge help when planning the wedding day. We couldn't have had our day without them, and we highly recommend the prime rib, crab cakes, and the cookie bar!
Chelsea is amazing, and the chef was fabulous! The whole night everyone was complimenting the food, and yes it really was that amazing. We received the leftovers, and they are even...
better the following days. They handled everything with food and drinks. Even though we brought the dessert, they still handled it. 10/10 would recommend!!

BC was patient and so easy to work with through it all.
Starting at the tasting, Chelsea felt like an old friend from the moment we met her. The food was amazing. It was everything we wanted and more. EBC even worked with us to create some unique appetizers for our wedding that weren't on the original menu.
At the wedding itself, her team made sure we didn't miss out on the food even while we were busy saying hi to everyone and barely getting to sit down. They always made sure we had water and whatever else we wanted available, and we truly wouldn't have had the day of our dreams without EBC.
My friends are still raving about our wedding food, it's THAT good.
Thank you Chelsea and EBC!!!

ing process. After our tasting we were hooked not only on the food but the amazing customer service we received from Chelsea. My wedding was 10/10 and I have gotten compliments on the food from everyone who attended, most said it was the best meal they've had a wedding!
Chelsea and team KILLED it.
Chelsea and team were incredible! The service was impeccable. They were willing to work with last minute timing changes, and served us with the utmost kindness and professionalism....
The food was delicious, their plating stunning, and timing flawless. What stood out most was how friendly and kind the entire team was. Chelsea was even willing to hop in and help get us down the aisle at the right time when we couldn’t hear the music from where we stood. It was all hands on deck! We thank them all for their delicious meal, and fantastic service.

ated meal with a choice of beef, salmon oscar (which was topped with a huge amount of crab meat), and parmesan chicken and we have already received so much positive feedback form our guests regarding dinner. During our tasting, my mom and I were blown away from the start. They rolled out the red carpet and the food was absolutely incredible. Additionally, Chelsea, being a former wedding coordinator, was a huge help to me in assisting with making my dreams come true- she is amazing you guys! She met with me to discuss our rentals, and again to discuss the logistics a month out, and quickly responded to all my emails. Our venue allowed us to bring in our own alcohol, and East Beach provided us with excellent resources to determine how much we needed to purchase. Compared to the other caterers that we looked at, East Beach was extremely professional and affordable.
Hands down, East Beach Catering is the caterer to use! Cathy and her team work wonders! She got back to us in a timely manner, worked with us, and was very attentive wedding day. ...
Cathy is willing and able to make every vision and dream come to life, but was also able to help a plain jane girl like myself spruce things up! We set our date for Sept 15. Hurricane Florence unfortunately changed our plans and we decided to postpone our wedding we spent a year planning. Cathy helped us make that difficult decision and made herself and team available for our new date in Oct - what a relief! My husband and I were determined to still get married on that day, so we gathered family and friends on the beach to exchange vows and went back to my parents to celebrate. Out of pure kindness, Cathy knew of this and prepared some of our wedding food and delivered it right to the door step. She and her team went above and beyond in every way possible to make BOTH our days unforgettable and delicious. Thank you!
Great team of people working with Cathy and she is wonderful. Made the meal of our dreams. Recommend!
5 stars for Cathy and her team at East Beach Catering! They made our daughter's February wedding beautiful, delicious, and stress free. We met with Cathy early on in our wedding pl...
anning process and found her to be warm, friendly, and easy to work with. She listened carefully to our very broad ideas and patiently helped us to develop a vision and plan that both met our budget and exceeded our expectations. Not only did Cathy create our menu, but she was also a valuable source of information and guidance on time line planning, efficient venue layout, numbers and budget, and selection of other vendors and rental companies. We called, texted, and met with Cathy multiple times and she was always patient, responsive, and encouraging. The wedding day was absolutely stress free. Cathy and her team set up all the tables and chairs at the Woman’s Club of Portsmouth, took care of all the linens and table settings, and coordinated with the other vendors to ensure that things ran smoothly. They served butlered and stationery hors d’oevres and a buffet style dinner that were both delicious and beautiful. Cathy has a real gift for design and display. Our guests said that it was one of the best wedding meals they had ever had. Among the favorites…a colorful, creative fruit, veggie, and cheese display, mouthwatering beef tenderloin (best EVER!), parmesan encrusted chicken, roasted asparagus, and the most wonderful mashed potato bar served in martini glasses with assorted toppings (our kids affectionately called them “tater-tinis.”) Our late-night snack of milk shots and cookies was also a huge hit. Cathy’s staff was friendly, professional, and provided excellent service from start to finish. We highly recommend Cathy and East Beach Catering and look forward to fun, elegant events with them in the future!
Cathy and her team absolutely knocked it out of the park with our cocktail hour and reception. We were married May 20, 2017 at The Historic Post Office in Hampton, VA. Cocktail H...
our was at The Carousel. From set up, presentation, taste and breakdown and clean up, I give Cathy Carter 10 stars!! We had cocktail shrimp, crab dip, fruit and cheese displays, bacon wrapped scallops and caprese skewers for cocktail hour. Guests are still raving about the crab dip and how much fun the carousel was for cocktail hour. The guest were then invited back to The Historic Post Office, where the staff had assisted in flipping the room. Guests were created by a delicious salad with champagne vinaigrette dressing. The 20+ kids in attendance were almost immediately served their kids meals. Then the guests were served an amazing dinner family style. They had platters of beef tenderloin, Parmesan crusted chicken and Cathy's fabulous crabcakes, mashed potatoes, roasted veggies and homemade yeast rolls. Once again, guests are still complimenting the food and how wonderful it was. Cathy's delivery is artistic, delicious and just over the top incredible. I cannot say enough good things about Cathy Carter and East Beach Catering! Whether a rehearsal dinner, birthday party, baby shower or wedding reception, she will NOT disappoint. Cathy also prepared the sweetest "going away" back for my new husband and I! It had so much food we made almost 3 meals out of it! Cathy doesn't forget any details. I could go on and on about how pleased I am! Give Cathy and her team the opportunity to make your wedding the day of your dreams!! Thanks Cathy! Love ya, Leesa & Ray!

and her team! The food was outstanding, cocktail hour was perfect and the reception was a hit! Her staff is friendly, fun and so lovable! Everyone genuinely cares about each person they come across and keep the good vibes going! I couldn't have had such an amazing day without Cathy and her team! Thank you for another flawless event! Love you guys!!
East Beach Catering was there with my husband and I on one of the most important days of our life…our wedding day! I started communicating with Cathy (the kindhearted and fearless ...
leader of the entire operation) via phone calls and e-mails and felt that we would be a great fit together. My husband is in the military and we tried to work out a taste test session that could include him, but it just wasn’t going to happen. She was so understanding that he couldn’t be there and was fine with me bringing my friend in his place! The tasting really sealed the deal and made me even more excited for the big day than I already was! The food was delicious, the presentation was beautiful (which was very important to me), and the customer service was top tier! It was an all-around fabulous experience leading up to the big day.
On our wedding day we were so thrilled to see it all come together and it exceeded our expectations in every way! We are about a month into our marriage and we still have guests contacting us telling us how delicious the food was…the appetizers during the cocktail hour were a HUGE HIT!! My husband got to try everything for the first time just as the guests did and he was extremely satisfied and is still talking about how tasty and perfect everything was! We highly recommend East Beach for any event that you might have! Delicious and gorgeous food, the perfect bar set up (very important to us!), and an extremely patient and hardworking staff…what more could one ask for?! Thank you so much to Cathy and the entire East Beach Catering team!!

parently to spicy food and they toned it down just for me. It was a little difficult to get a hold of anyone months out from the date, but closer to the date, it was very easy given that the small details were being discussed. She def put that personal touch to all of our dishes from wanting zucchini and mushrooms to the German brownies and macaroons. HANDS DOWN, one of the best decisions we made about the wedding. Team, staff, Cathy, cookers, cleaners, everything.. thank you so much for making our day awesome!!! PS- they have a orange crush machine which I had for my signature drink!!!

had a gut feeling that I needed to keep looking. I am so glad I did!!' Cathy and Denise are absolutely amazing to work with. They make you feel so welcome and treat you like family. There is so many extras and personal attention they provide. A few examples...
- Before even seeing a menu, they insisted that we come in to talk. During this meeting, we tried so many options and just took time to talk about our wedding vision. I honestly expected a bill at the end of the meeting for the food and time, as that is what took place with the other unnamed caterer we met with. Not with east beach! She was amazingly attentive.
- I noticed other caterers "nickel and diming" for chaffing dishes, salt and pepper shakers, etc. EBC had all of this included in the food quote so no hidden fees. They have so much stuff to utilize too!
- Cathy and Denise are generous with tastings. We even had leftovers to take at our final tasting.
- EBC makes sure you eat (and your family) at your wedding! They made plates for my husband and I on the big day. They also plated up appetizers from cocktail hour and delivered to us and the tables of our parents. They even packaged up any leftovers (but don't expect much... Your guests will gobble it up!).
- Cathy was mindful of my budget and very helpful in staying with it.
- Cathy helped me coordinate linens and rentals, making that process incredibly simply.
I have said a lot about the service but even more importantly is the food. I come from a family of people who will critic food. Absolutely EVERYONE has raved about our food. Without even prompting the conversation, guests have mentioned to me and my family how amazing the food was. You are getting what you pay for and beyond. Best decision I made was choosing EBC!!!

ll remember your food. The food sets the tone. Don't spend lost of money on the ambiance of the wedding and forget about what goes in your belly!!!!! Not only is Cathy's food beautiful (yes that's right beautiful) but it is so good I want to eat my hand right not thinking about it!! She can accommodate any type of theme but for our wedding we had a rustic, country, beach wedding. The food was sophisticated yet still comfort food. The shrimp and grits in the martini glasses....to.....die.....for! Add that with a macaroni and cheese bar.... I mean really who does that. It was good comfort food but it looked so pretty and the flavors were very sophisticated. Do yourself and favor.....get good food :) your guests will thank you. Oh and by the way you will too. Cathy packed us to go boxes and packed them in our get away car so we could even enjoy her food the next day. :)

whole process. She was incredibly responsive, and the food was fabulous! She took care of all my rentals too which was a huge relief. On the day of her team was so amazing and gracious. e quite a few picky eaters in our family and even they ate everything. Just wonderful. Denise was great and very helpful during our meetings pre-wedding. Between helping with the menu and getting everything straight with the rental company regarding linens, chairs and what not. She was just great and very organized. Again I just can't say enough good things about our experience with East Beach catering. Just wonderful!
Cathy and Denise both from East Beach Catering were so wonderful to work with during my wedding process. When I was uncertain of food choices in the beginning Cathy provided wonder...
ful suggestions and she was patient with my husband and I while we tried her delicious choices during our food tasting.
Throughout the last month or so leading up to the big day I would find myself stressed and Cathy was so calm and collected which helped me do the same. Everyone at the reception had nothing but great things to say about the food and the service. We served our guests family style and everyone loved it. I would definitely recommend family style because it is plated but with more interaction at the table - which is a great way to break the ice with guests who don't know one another.
At the end of the night Cathy had put together a care package for me and my husband to take with us and gave the rest of the left overs to my parents and my husband's parents. They took care of everyone and I would highly recommend them to other brides.

were far and above her competitors. We selected her and her team and had a tasting of her food. We were delighted. Cathy offered us advise along the way and really understood my daughters VISION. She kept saying she would make it pretty. The Wedding Reception was last weekend at the MOCA in Virginia Beach. We and our guests were amazed at the food and the presentation. Cathy is thorough, professional and a lot of fun. Our guests said the food was the best they had had. Being the father of the Bride I was particular that my daughters wedding was special and Cathy did that. I would highly recommend her services to anyone planning an event. I hope to use her company again when the need arises.

asting before i chose my caterer for my wedding and that was all it took, i had to have East Beach.I cancelled the rest of my tastings after we met with her.
Cathy made all my dreams come true. She was very attentive to everything I wanted my reception to be. She always reassured me that everything was going to turn out beautifully and not to stress, and she was right.
Many of my guest raved about the food she prepared and some even asked me if we had leftovers.
I would recommend East Beach Catering to any bride, that needs a caterer.

rers in this area, East Beach sets itself apart from the rest by going WAY above and beyond!
What I liked best about working with Cathy was that from the first moment, she was only interested in what we wanted to offer our guests. There was nothing that we asked for that she couldn't do. Secondly, and almost as important to us, is that once we met with her, she handled it all from there! We wanted to let her do her thing and do it she did!
She worked with our venue and handled all the details. All we really needed to do was decided what it was we wanted to eat.
Walking into the reception too our breath away! Every station was decorated in the classiest of ways. She incorporated our theme into her presentations. It was absolutely beautiful!
Last, but certainly not least, the food was AMAZING! Her staff was exceptional and treated us (bride and groom) like gold! Our guests are STILL talking about how wonderful the food was at our reception.
East Beach Catering is most definitely a caterer I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone who wants a memorable experience at their event!

ut Cathy is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. She held two tastings for us, because my husband was deployed for the initial one. She wanted him to feel included, and that meant so much to us! How gosh darn lucky were we?! My husband and I wanted a BBQ theme for our wedding, and Cathy created the most delicious down home cookin BBQ spread that you could ever imagine - BBQ with 4 different types of sauce (including my favorite - spicy NC style!), crunchy cole slaw, the most delicious mac-n-cheese you have ever had, baked beans, hush puppies complete with whipped honey butter, and more! Oh, and did I mention the sweet potato biscuits? They were the first thing we tried at our first tasting, and I was ready to sign the contract right then and there! I loved that Cathy was able to put a "gourmet twist" on a classic bbq idea without taking away from the southern goodness! Cathy was so wonderful at calming me down (I'm a total Type A perfectionist) when I was stressed about the details of the reception and her genuine hug let me know it was all under control. And it sure was! Sadly, it rained the day of our wedding, and we were unable to get married on the beach or have our cocktail hour outside. This meant that Cathy's team had 2 less hours to prepare. No problem! Along with my parents, bridal party, husband, and "wedding planner," Cathy's team did an amazing job making sure everything was set up just right. Throughout the evening, Cathy's staff was very attentive and polite. At the end of the night, I couldn't believe how quickly they had everything taken down and put away. They work like a well-oiled-machine, and it's obvious they have a lot of practice and take pride in what they do. Moral of the story, if I ever need a caterer again in the future, I will look no further than Cathy and East Beach Catering! : )

food was amazing and all our guests were raving about it. My mother-in-law said that she could never eat a crab cake from FL again. It was truly an honor to work with her. They give you everything that you could possibly want. They even helped me come up with a signature drink that matched my navy blue them. We interviewed many other caterers and no one came close to Cathy’s professionalism, menu, or creativity. If you are looking for a caterer she is the one. Many other caterers in Virginia Beach are just so stuck up and Cathy is the farthest thing from that. And her staff at our wedding was amazing. Additionally, they helped us clean up at the end which was priceless. There is not a negative thing that can be said about Cathy or her staff. You would be lucky to have her as your caterer.

She won't charge you for things that you don't need and she is honest and fair. We would recommend her to anyone planning ANY event that needs catering!
