Choosing a wedding photographer is about finding someone who you trust with the preservation of the memories of one of the greatest days of your life.Thinking about how I not only wanted to remember my own day but the thought of future generati...ons of my family looking at our photos made this a very important decision to us. We could not have chosen better by putting our trust is East Elm. Aaron was our photographer for our engagement shoot and our wedding day and he was just amazing. Before we even signed a contract he had a meeting with us to discuss what we wanted, and was quick to answer any questions we had throughout the planning process. My husband and I also appreciated that before the wedding he checked in with who we wanted photos with, and helped us create a plan for photo sites.
We did our engagement shoot in the middle of winter and Aaron braved sub zero temperatures to gave us some of the most amazing photos I have of us (second only to our wedding photos), not because of a pose, or anything planned, but because Aaron has a gift for capturing the emotions behind a moment. He made us feel very comfortable being ourselves and it shows in every shot even though we were freezing!
On our wedding day he was wonderful to work with. He arrived at the church early to get some shots of us all getting ready and capture little details. During the ceremony he was everywhere, in the choir balcony in the back of the church, but he was able to do so without distracting from the ceremony at all. During family portraits he was efficient, which is not always easy in the herding cats process and we now have beautiful family photos. After we left the church we did some shots at the Joan of Arc chapel. There was a mix up of us and another wedding party using the space and Aaron was quick on his feet and immediately knew another place to take us that in my opinion led to even better photos than we originally planned. He brought out the fun in the wedding party, and was able to capture the joy we all felt being together that day. Later, when he was just shooting photos of my husband and I, he was a perfect combination of directive and allowing us to be our natural selves. He was able to captured the love and many years of friendship that our marriage is built on, and those little things that just my husband and I do like shared laughs and special looks. He was also able to get the best candid shots of our guests that truly captured their personalities and the fun we had on our wedding day. I truly intend on hiring Aaron and Melissa for major milestones as our family continues on in life, and I can not recommend them enough. These are photos I am going to cherish always. If you want a photographer who brings props and is goofy then this may not be for you, but if you want beautiful portraits that capture true love, and absolute joy in a timeless way, and who can capture photos of your guests being themselves then this is who to call.
