Our guests raved about the food at our 200-person event due to the wonderful catering services from East End. The chef has a Chicken Poblano recipe that is to die for - no El Paso event should be without it! We did not even select the recipe for tasting, but the chef brought it to our tasting anyway. Thank goodness he did because it was a big hit.
Leading up to my big day, I expected the caterer to be the one vendor that followed through without any hiccups! Javier was super accomodating leading up to the big day and very responsive to any question or concern we had. The horror all came down the day of when he arrived over 1 hour late from a previous wedding he was hosting when he specifically said he would not take on any other clients that day as part of our contract terms!!! He supplied the bar staff and wait staff all who were 1 hour late and therefore NO cocktail hour after the ceremony. I had to call him several times up until I was walking down the aisle to inquire where he was!!! Then when he told us that he brought additional wait staff to make up for time he took another hour bringing out the appetizers, and when he brought out the appetizers he decided to improvise to make up for lost time without consulting us and so he decided to serve CHEESE AND CRACKERS! Unbelieveable! He also had no corkscrew for the wine bottles, no coffee for desserts, bread rolls came out after the meals which were 2 hours behind, had incompetent wait staff who he was micromanaging, and the list goes on! Total nightmare!
I often find wedding food tasteless and dry, but that is not the case with this catering company. Our menu was chicken with the choice of three sauces (we loved them all too much to choose!), green beans almondine, rice pilaf and a roll. We chose to serve the food buffet style to save money, but no one seemed to mind. The catering company still provided chargers, so the tables looked sharp. They also brought food to myself and the groom, along with any elderly guests.
I know people say the bride and groom never have time to eat on their wedding day, but we made the time. The food was delicious, and the staff was professional. We didn't have any problems with this catering company.
Oh, and I was happy to hear we had leftovers to eat the next day!
