y wedding in January. They had a fire in the upstairs space few weeks before the trial and did not tell me. The day of the trial, a crew was gutting the upstairs - construction folks everywhere, a garbage chute going to a dumpster right outside of the window I was sitting next to, noise, dust, dirty laundry lining the front hallway, and chilly air from the front door being opened constantly in 20 degree weather. I had scheduled my mother for a manicure that day, and they put her in a room in the back of the first floor heated only by space heaters, and told her to keep her coat on (then they charged me $45 for her "spa manicure"). She told me she was happy to get in a warm car at the end of it. The trial itself was fine. The makeup line they use is really gummy in texture so I couldn't wait to wipe it off (felt like stage makeup). Also they have no waterproof mascara, kinda important for weddings. I cancelled that Friday because I didn't want any more surprises like "gutting the building" on my wedding day. They said that the space would be ready and that they wouldn't be doing construction on the Saturday but I had no reason to trust them after what happened the trial day. It was a huge hassle to rebook my party elsewhere but I'm very happy I did because the place we went was like, up to code and heated.
