ECBG Cake Studio

verwhelming with so many options, but their team guided us through it with enthusiasm and expertise, helping us land on something perfect for our vision. And the final result was absolutely stunning. Our winter wedding cake was even more beautiful than we could have imagined—a true showpiece that fit our celebration perfectly. But beyond the aesthetics, the cake was delicious. Our guests couldn't stop raving about it throughout the night. We also had additional desserts from ECBG, and they were equally incredible. Every single item was a hit. If you're looking for a bakery that combines creativity, exceptional taste, and a wonderful experience from start to finish, hire ECBG. You won't be disappointed.

nd we were so disappointed. We went into our tasting at ECBG a little wary, thinking maybe we just don’t like cake as much as we thought we did. Well, we were definitely wrong on that! ECBG’s cakes were absolutely delicious. In fact, we’re getting hungry just talking about it. The way Izzy presented the tasting was so special and deliberate, with cake and icing separate so you can try as many combinations as you want. We also had the freedom to have four cake flavors which was just wild to us (in the best way!). We absolutely loved the cake flavors itself and we were so impressed with what they were able to do design-wise. In the end, we went with a simple design but we loved that we could have asked for anything and they’d make it happen. Izzy was wonderful to work with and made our cake tasting even more special somehow. We loved our wedding cake so much and we would recommend ECBG to any couple getting married. We can’t wait to have it again at our 1 year anniversary!

But this cake completely blew me away. We went with lemon and red velvet, and it was honestly the most delicious cake ever. Every guest was raving about it! We actually got hooked up with ECBG through our venue RPM, and we are so glad we did. It looked stunning, tasted incredible, and made our wedding day feel even more special. I couldn’t recommend them more!

of our cake.

helping us book a tasting while we were in town. They were communicative throughout and were overall just a delight to work with.

h someone at the studio. The options were endless and delicious, leading to a surprisingly difficult decision, but we decided on almond cake with vanilla pastry cream and lemon cake and strawberry whipped ganache. The wedding cake was gorgeous, and the delivery process was seamless. So many people at the wedding came up to us to let us know how wonderful the cake was! We were thrilled to have chosen ECBG and they have become our default cake studio for all of our future needs.

joy to work with. We couldn’t have been happier and highly recommend them!

were open to all our flavor combinations and requests! Not to mention they crushed the cake topper of our two fur babies! I will be a customer for life!

ld put them in our cake as well!

eeks later, we pulled our cake out of the freezer expecting it to be “still good”... and it still tasted incredible. We have no idea how it held up so perfectly, but somehow it did — moist, flavorful, and just as amazing as on our wedding day. In addition to our stunning cake, we had an incredible variety of desserts including brown butter funfetti blondies (a personal favorite!), cheesecake bites, red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, macarons, and more. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the selection — there truly was something for everyone, and every single item was a hit. ECBG was easy to work with, totally professional, our tasting was super fun, and they generally just knocked it out of the park. If you're a Chicago couple looking for top-tier wedding desserts, this is your bakery. We can’t recommend them enough!

uote what we heard all night and the weeks after, it was, "the best cake I've ever had at a wedding." ECBG worked with our florist and incorporated our colors into the existing design seamlessly. Erin and Sarah were very responsive throughout the planning process, and they were enthusiastic to work with me and collaborate on the design. The at-home tasting option was so easy and fun. Our cake ended up being the centerpiece of our cocktail hour, and it was wonderful to have something not only beautiful, but also memorable and delicious.

were a joy to work with and they paid such close attention to detail down to the Hex codes of our color palette. Could not recommend them more!

S! We had a hard time narrowing down from the fabulous take home tasting box provided (which in itself is super cool and handy since we live out of town) so Erin suggested we just do 4 layers so we could have them all! We asked the kitchen to box up whatever was leftover so we could take them home and enjoy all of the flavors. It was still delicious a few days later at home. We enjoyed out wedding cake for a week after! They also made our dog and had him "taking a bite out of the cake," which was one of my favorite things of the day. I was dragging everyone to look at our beautiful cake and precious pup next to it! I cannot recommend ECBG highly enough...and am already looking forward to our 1 year anniversary when they do a special cake to mark the occasion.

s. We got so many good reviews on our cake at our wedding! My only critique was that everyone ate it and I didn't get a slice day of haha

. Erin, Sarah, and the whole team were very communicative and helpful. They even decorated our cake beautifully with pressed flowers to match the rest of the wedding decor! The cake was so delicious that I already ordered another one to celebrate one month of marriage!

CBG was an excellent partner during the planning and delivery, and the cake was a star of the evening! We plan on re-ordering a smaller one for our one-year anniversary!

their online form after we completed a tasting. The form is straightforward and easy to use. I will say when we first picked up our cake we didn’t love the font of the writing and the color (black) that I chose didn’t go well with the overall look of the cake. ECBG was SO responsive and friendly and were able to quickly update the writing to a delicate cursive and in the same color as the frosting - next level customer service! The cake looked beautiful and tasted amazing. Highly recommend!

, timeless wedding cake that was not only stunning but also incredibly delicious. We chose two flavors, both of which were exceptional: a vanilla cake with chocolate and vanilla pastry cream, and a lemon cake with vanilla and strawberry mascarpone. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about it—several even said it was the best wedding cake they’d ever had, and I couldn’t agree more! I’ll definitely be returning to ECBG for cakes and sweet treats in the future. Their artistry and flavors are truly unmatched!

a miracle by helping us come to one idea we could agree on and enhancing it beyond our dreams! The tasting was so much fun and done very professionally to help us try any and all flavor combinations. Our guests at our wedding raved about our cake and we are already planning to come back and get another cake for our first anniversary! The team at ECBG is a joy to work with and the best of the best. If you want a beautiful and delicious wedding cake, this is the only place to go to.

as also delicious! Perfect cake

lesh out my dream cake. Hire them NOW! You won't be sorry.

art. All of our guest were blown away. The cake tasted amazing too .... salted caramel, chocolate, marble cake. Yum yum yum. So many guests went on and on about how amazing the cake looked and tasted. I would order a cake from ECBG for any occasion. They are amazing. I want to hug the person who made my cake. Thank you for helping to make my wedding so magical and special.

ess and make a decision without the pressure of tasting directly with the business! We loved this aspect of our planning process! They executed our desserts so perfectly. They created the most beautiful cake for us and provided a great dessert table. Quick and easy communication and just overall perfect experience.

so convenient and special, they gave me directions on how to preserve the cake so I could travel with it to Michigan and do tasting with my grandmother - she absolutely LOVED it. Secondly, I didn’t know what I was looking for when it came to a design and all I did was send them a picture from Pinterest and it was PERFECT. It was exactly like the picture. I had so many compliments on the cake, the way it tasted and looked. I couldn’t have asked for a better cake company and plan on returning in the future!

dding cake with my color scheme and they ran with it!!), to the actual quality of the cake - everything was amazing! To note, there is a minimum price you have to spend to get delivery so I sent a trusty family member to pick it up from the bakery and drop it off at my venue. It was so fresh that they were finishing up decorating when they picked it up! Would definitely recommend ECBG!!!

frosting was not too sweet, just the right amount & the flavors we chose to accentuate in each of the layers (pistachio, mocha, salted caramel) really shined through. Many people raved about the cake post-wedding & had their favorite picked out between the layers! We are so excited to try the top tier during our 1-year anniversary!!

ious it tasted :) We will definitely be ordering cakes and desserts from them in the future!! Hire them to make your wedding cake - you won’t regret it!!

I sent an email to ECBG the next day saying I would like to talk to someone about the cake. I did not hear back and followed up again and this is the response back I received from the owner Erin Martin. Wow!! ============= Hi Dennis! My name is Erin and I own ECBG Cake Studio. My Order Manager, Izzy has let me know you were unsatisfied with your order over the weekend. Thank you so much for your feedback. It means a lot to us to try to make each and every experience exceptional. I did take a look at your attachment and your order form to see that it was consistent with what you ordered. My personal recommendation for fillings is something like cream cheese or chocolate pastry cream since the buttercream is always on the outside. A lot of our signature style cakes are done with artist discretion, like color of message, font of message, placement of disco balls etc. - and I am so sorry that was not to your liking. I understand the amount of filling we provided, which is consistent with all of our cakes and to our standard, may not have been your preference and that is okay. Hopefully the guests were still able to enjoy their night! I hope you have a great week! ================= Wow this is customer service... I think not. This was for a birthday imagine if this was for a wedding and you cut into this disaster of a cake at the reception. Anyone reading this please don't make the same mistake I did by ordering a cake from ECBG Cake Studio's.

nd a dozen vegan cupcakes. We have not stopped getting compliments on how gorgeous and delicious it was! Highly recommended.

ier (each a different flavor) wedding cake for us but also a supppppper cool grooms cake in the shape of a banana. I was unreal the level of detail that they put into each one. The ecbg team can’t pretty much do anything. We did a dessert bar so everyone could pick what they wanted instead of table serving the cake…. There was not a single piece of cake left at the end of the night…they were both THAT good.

it for our small wedding. I hate frosting, it's too often way too sugary and sweet. This was honestly the most delicious cake (frosting included) that I ever had. Working with them on size for our small party (35 people) and design was super easy. We wanted a carrot cake, and it was perfect. Honestly one of the things that I most looked forward to about our wedding was this cake, haha! I'm so tempted to bust into the piece we have in the freezer. Please work with them! You won't be disappointed!

tions and finalize a design. Erin & Sarah were incredibly helpful and very prompt with their responses to all of our questions. Not only was the cake beautiful, it was absolutely delicious!

was so moist and the design was flawless! I received many compliments on the cake from my guests. The process of scheduling a tasting and booking them for my wedding was seamless. They made sure to provide me with recommendations to accommodate my allergies and preferences plus provide some suggestions. I had flexibility to customize the cake and have a different flavor on each layer, incorporating our favorites. I also asked them to make some pastries for my bridal shower and they delivered! The entire team is friendly and accommodating PLUS the sweets are scrumptious. Flavorful, moist, and delightful. - definitely leave you wanting more. I’m so happy we went with them and we loved our beautiful cakes so much!

e design we both loved too. Highly recommend!!

hat it was the best wedding cake they’ve ever had and wanted another slice! From our tasting, to our wedding, we had the best experience working with ECBG and are looking forward to eating the wedding cake in our freezer on our anniversary!!!

big day. We came to them with our ideas and they really honed in it and brought them to life. They even worked with our florist to help create the perfect look for our cake. Our guests enjoyed our cake/cupcakes so much that we didn't even get a chance to eat it on the day of 😂. 12/10 would suggest ECBG to anyone who asks!

e ease and overall organization of this company we would definitely recommend! The cake was both delicious and beautiful with a true creative cake master that has evident love for what she does! We wanted something simple, yet elegant with some small added details and she nailed it.

ke to our guests, and ended up making us the most beautiful and tasty cake!!! Look at how cute it is!!!

Sarah on what our vision was and she was so kind and responsive the entire process. When we finally saw the cake on our wedding day, WOW!! It’s not every day that a cake can steal the show at a wedding, but it was a head turner in the best way possible. Beyond that, our guests loved the cake and we got so many compliments on it throughout the evening! Don’t believe the wedding blogs that say “cakes are a waste of money” - it’s a statement piece and if your use ECBG there will be very little wasted cake as we only had a handful of slices left over (which my father graciously took home as a lover of all things buttercream icing and cake). The entire team is incredible and we loved working with them!

cake with vanilla pastry cream and marble cake with chocolate mousse so everyone had an option. 100/10 wonderful cake, beautifully decorated, wonderful experience, highly recommend!

ealize I haven't eaten since 9AM that morning, and when my clients allow me, I have often found that I am able to get the most creative when it comes to details and design of the cake. Cue Erin. She is always up for my fun, client design inspired cakes, and when I came to her saying that I wanted to incorporate things like 15 patterns, 10 colors, shag texture, fondant and DISCO tiers, she said "Say no more. I've gotchu." And got me she did. Our cake was literally INCREDIBLE. Beyond my wildest dreams. I am so grateful to Erin, Sarah and the whole ECBG team for never once saying no to my "more is more" mantra and rolling with the crazy to give me and my now husband the wedding cake we never knew we needed. And BOY did it taste great at the wedding, but it was even more amazing at 4AM in our hotel room after a LOOOOONG night and even BETTER for breakfast the next morning! THANK YOU ECBG TEAM!
