If I could give Rob more than 5 stars I would! He did everything from providing mics for the ceremony to playing live saxophone during the cocktail hour, and did an amazing job DJi...
ng the reception (while playing saxophone at the same time). My guests had never seen anything like it! People were watching him as much as they were dancing, and a few of our guests came up to ask who he was and where we found him after the wedding.
What I appreciated just as much is that he’s a really nice, genuine guy. He was easy to talk to during the planning —we bonded over both having lived in Japan — and he answered promptly whenever I reached out. On the day of the wedding, he showed up and did exactly what he said he would and was even early. When you’re planning a wedding and juggling a hundred things, having someone that reliable takes a real weight off.
If you’re looking at DJs, book Rob Bennion. He made our night, and I’d hire him again in a heartbeat!
We honestly can’t say enough good things about Rob. From our very first call, he was incredibly versatile and just got what we were going for, even as we were still figuring it out...
ourselves. He was also super easy to work with alongside our planner and made everything feel seamless. He handled everything from outdoor welcome music to playing sax during our ceremony recessional, setting the perfect cocktail hour vibes, running the main stage and emceeing, keeping a packed dance floor all night, and then somehow turning it all the way up for the after party DJ set. The whole experience truly exceeded all expectations.
The sax playing was such a standout and something people are still talking about. It added a completely different energy that made the whole day feel special and unique. We couldn’t believe how seamlessly Rob could incorporate sax into so many different music genres. He’s incredibly talented.
So many of our guests came up to us during the wedding and after to say how amazing Rob was. We also saw multiple notes about him in our guestbook, which says a lot.
On top of all of that, Rob is just a genuinely great person. He’s easy to work with, flexible, and clearly cares about making the day perfect.
We highly recommend Rob if you’re planning a wedding or any event.

DJ Rob Bennion and his band, Gold Standard, were absolutely incredible at our wedding. We were looking for a versatile DJ that could cover a wide range of music genres (hip hop, rap, latin, rock, etc.) and came across Gold Standard. They offer services for DJ, live band or both! They made a really good effort to know the bride and groom and what we were looking for at our wedding, which carried over into our set list. So many people complimented us on the live band, they thought the live singer was absolutely amazing, and complimented how well Gold Standard was able to intertwine all our eccentric genres of music. Our dance floor was never empty and guests said they've never danced more at a wedding before. It was a breeze working with Rob and we could not recommend him and his band more!!!
Side note - they played at the NBA All Star game just a week later.... speaks to their extreme talent!
