sts, and I was assured this would happen by both Christine Sheffield and Chef Estaban. However, our guests left our event hungry. We were promised 6 oz of protein per guest but served only 2-3 oz, less than half of what was agreed upon.
The cocktail hour started 45 minutes late due to miscommunication on Christine's part. Additionally, we were not notified of the miscommunication on their part. Supposedly, they had a team meeting to review the timeline for our event. It was clearly noted that cocktail hour was to start at 4pm but instead, they started serving appetizers at 4:45pm. It was extended 15 minutes so we had 30 minutes of service time, despite a contract stating it would be an hour. We ordered extra appetizers to keep guests satisfied, but due to the late start and slow service—only 6 appetizers served per tray at a time—many guests never received any.
Portions of both appetizers and entrées were significantly smaller than what we saw at the tasting, which felt misleading. One of our guests requested more chicken due to dietary restrictions (doesn't eat red meat) and was denied by the servers. To add insult to injury, a guest was told there was no more salad dressing when asking for extra—basic condiments should never run out at a catered event. Completely unprofessional! Finally, we paid extra per person for sauce for the chicken and it wasn't served! They charged us for something we didn't even receive and will not refund what we paid!
To top it all off, when I tried to resolve these issues with management, they ignored me. Initially, John Boozer (partner) and Christine Sheffield (event coordinator) seemed genuinely concerned and acknowledged their company's failures, but once we agreed on a resolution, all communication stopped. John led me to believe he was working on fixing things but clearly had no intention of doing so. Neither took real accountability despite admitting the contract was not honored.
This company failed in professionalism, service, and integrity. Save yourself the headache and avoid them at all costs.

For a catering company, you'd expect at least a basic level of flexibility and understanding, especially when it comes to dietary restrictions. Instead, I was left with very limited options and felt completely disregarded. I would not recommend this company to anyone who has specific dietary preferences or needs – they clearly don’t make the effort to accommodate.

out additional food, they were told no. This was something we had stressed throughout the process from the beginning and many times we had been assured there would be more than enough food. The staff seemed inexperienced and dismissive, which only added to the frustration. Some guests had asked for salt & pepper, or even dressing for their salad but never received it. Also, the staff would clean full drinks off tables and full pieces of cake that guests were still eating.
We had paid for extra appetizers, but many of our guests never received any. What was served came out late and very slowly, so only a handful of people even had the chance to try them.
For the amount we paid, we expected professional service and a seamless dining experience for our guests. Sadly, that was not the case. We would not recommend Eco Caterers based on our experience.

Even after reaching out multiple times to clarify important issues, my concerns were completely ignored. It’s clear they have no interest in genuine customer support or accountability.

us, we had the flat iron steak and achiote chicken tacos and everyone went for seconds, we also had vegetarian tacos for some of our guests and they also went for seconds because it was so delicious!! Christine was with us every step of the way, helping with making choices even outside of their catering, she had so much advice for dessert and bar info and generally with any wedding questions we had. She is so sweet and amazing to work with! We will recommend Eco anyone looking for a caterer in San Diego area for any kind of event.

Cat was the banquet captain for the day and she was so sweet and fun, did an great job adjusting to a fluid timeline and jumped in to help where she didn't have to. Every single item was beautifully presented and a hit with guests - many of them remarking to us weeks later how it was some of the best food they had ever had a wedding. It was elegant without being fussy. The brisket was fantastic, the vegetables were seasonal and fresh and they took mac & cheese to whole new level. They were thoughtful enough to set aside plates for my groom and me to be sure that we didn't miss out anything while we were busy talking and greeting guests. They made sure everyone's glasses were filled and overall provided exceptional attention to service & detail. They go above and beyond to make sure that your event is as special as it can be.

ream!!! She made the whole planning part so fun and easy. She was super responsive and goes above and beyond to make sure everything is handled and answered. Not only did she help with all our food and beverage needs but also tackled all of our rentals for us. We did a Sunday Funday Brunch wedding and I have never been to a better brunch buffet. At our tasting Nick came out and explained every dish he was serving and how he prepped everything. He even went as far as telling us which farms they sourced different food from. With his passion alone we knew we were in for a treat. You know its good food when people come up to you at the wedding to tell you how nice everything is, but the food is amaaaazing!! at required a lot of organizing. The event coordinator at Eco was very helpful in putting together a plan that accommodated all of our guests in the best possible way. They were always responsive, timely, and considerate of what we wanted for our big day.
The food was very good and they have many options, which was very good for my vegetarian and vegan guests. The service staff on the day of the event was also very good, helping to set up and clean up very efficiently. Eco also took care of rentals, which was very helpful for me. very details was talked about and planned to how we wanted it. They were also very honest with ways to help save money and not just rack up the price. I just can't tell you enough how awesome every singe person within the company was to us!! I would recommend them to anyone and everyone.
