Very great venue with great staff that went way above and beyond. While we did a winter wedding, they had solutions for everything. Roxann, Shane and Jeff were wonderful with adjus...
ting to our needs and accommodating changes. The venue itself is beautiful and cozy setting to make a more intimate setting for wedding guests. The fireplace room can make any vision come to life and is just classic and beautiful. We had 100 guests at our wedding and the venue felt spacious for everyone. Highly recommend for anyone that wants a blank slate to decorate for a smaller venue.
First, this venue is beautiful and it is great for value! We got many compliments from our guests about this historic venue. However, it did take a considerable amount of extra eff...
ort to make it all work. About a month before our wedding we had a couple questions that we needed answered in order to submit our plan to Theo Wirth staff. After several emails and calls, it took staff over two weeks to get back to us. This was frustrating.
On the day of our wedding, we showed up at the agreed upon time to start decorating and the room was not set-up correctly (even after submitting a very detailed plan).
We had to do much of the moving ourselves and the staff person in charged chided us for coming at an earlier time. She thought we were coming several hours later - Staff were clearly not on the same page about the plan because if she had seen it, she would have known we were going to be there at 9:30am. Because a golf tournament was going on, it felt like that was their priority and they would get to us when they could. When the event started, one of our tables didn't have enough chairs. (I had double checked everything myself so someone obviously had messed with it). This was also frustrating.
Overall, I wasn't impressed with the staff coordination, communication, or planning. Be prepared to do it all yourself and for there to be last minute things out of place that you'll need to fix yourself. The staff are fairly young and inexperienced -- or distracted, so double check everything. Think of this venue as being a truly DIY type of venue.
During the wedding off-season, staff were much more responsive, but when it came down to it, they didn't pull through when it mattered, which added stress.
Would we have done it all over again though? Probably, especially if we knew this in advance -- and because of the great value for money of the venue. It's gorgeous, you just have to be able to put up with a lot.
The Chalet or Fireplace room was incredibly romantic, beautiful and affordable. The outdoor deck doubles the space and the character of the building makes decor minimal. We loved t...
he space which was great for photos on the golfcouse and deck with a beaming mpls skyline behind holes 3 & 4, and an attentive staff. We were adamant to choose a venue where we could choose our own vendors and decor. If that is you , check this place out!
Theodore Wirth Chalet was the perfect venue for our reception! People seemed to have loved the variety of spaces - large fireplace room, pub room, sun room, huge stone deck. The ...
staff was terrific and helpful the entire time from the weeks before to the night of the reception.
Beautiful venue for a fall wedding. Very romantic.
We had our ceremony in the fireplace room. We were lucky enough to have the first snowfall of the year and it looked beautiful. We used the back bar room to get ready in during the...
day does hair and makeup and it worked out perfectly. They were easy to work with and it's a beautiful option.
Theodore Wirth Chalet was the perfect setting for our woodsy wedding. Our ceremony was that much more lovely for taking place on the wrap-around stone balcony backed by pine trees...
. The lofty ceiling with exposed, dark wooden beams made the indoor space both airy and inviting. A huge thanks to the great staff who set up everything and even took the time to show us the best spots to take sunset photos. It was a magical experience through and through.
