If I could give this team more than 5 stars I would. My husband and I got married here a few weeks ago and I am still left speechless. The staff, the food, the environment and everything in between was incredible. They went above and beyond every call of duty and made my wedding completely stress free. I could not have asked for a more perfect team to help me with my wedding. Thank you Edson Hill from the bottom of my heart, you were incredible through every step of wedding planning. You were never just another vendor, you are our family.
The food and venue are SPECTACULAR!!!
The chef is creative, flexible, and cooks the most incredible food. All of our guests raved about how delicious the breakfast and dinner were. They said this was the "best food they ever had." The restaurant seriously deserves Michelin Stars.
The actual Inn is picturesque. Each room is unique and they are cozy, clean, and gorgeous. The staff is amazing. Justin, a waiter, is so kind and makes excellent recommendations about food, drink, and things to do in Stowe. Allison, the wedding coordinator, is organized and helpful. I was truly a pleasure to collaborate with her and bring my dream wedding to life.
Needless to say, my husband and I will be returning (many times) in the future!
We held our wedding weekend at Edson Hill in June 2019. I can't speak highly enough of our experience from start to finish. The team at Edson Hill went above and beyond for us. There is so much to love about Edson Hill as a venue and property -- from the stunning landscape, to the impeccably designed spaces, to the incredible meals. One of the most defining features, though, is the staff, who consistently made us feel cared for at every turn. We planned this wedding without a formal planner, and likely put Allison and her team through hell with various requests and last-minute changes, but they remained consistently responsive, reliable, and proactive in the seamless execution of our event. For example, we had rolling thunderstorms on the day of the wedding, and the team was so nimble that with a 30 minute break in the clouds, they completely broke down and re-set our ceremony site so that we could get married outdoors. The staff were always around the corner if we needed something (like a golf cart to keep my dress clean), and at the same time respected our privacy to allow us to enjoy the weekend together as a family.
One of the many reasons we chose Edson Hill was their capacity to host our families and bridal party onsite, and host all events there as well. The option to "take over" the property for a full weekend was not only convenient, but created this extraordinary ambience of summer camp meets college meets luxury farmhouse -- quite a rare combination. Given the variety of options for events (the patio terrace, the downstairs tavern, the tented reception site) and the assorted menus, every part of the weekend was different and special. All of our guests reached out for months after the wedding to comment on how exceptional this property is (and how amazing the food), and I know some have already made plans to return.
We are so grateful to EH and the team for everything, and know we will be back soon. We wish we could do it all over again.
My husband and I got married at Edson Hill 2 weeks ago and I'm not sure words will be able to describe how magical it was, but I'll try. If you are looking for a venue that is naturally gorgeous with a team of top notch individuals who make you feel like family vs. just a customer, look no further!
We were looking to have a wedding celebrating the love of my husband and I, but also something that gave us an opportunity for our family and closest friends to get spend time together. Edson Hill was the perfect place to do just that. From the time we began chatting with Ani at Edson Hill I felt like we were in great hands. From the dedicated time we spent with her over the phone and in person I could not have asked for more. Ani was there for us every single step of the way of planning and execution. Jesse Mae, Sophia, and Lee and everyone else at EH worked together to deliver exactly what we were envisioning. Edson Hill truly provides first class customer service and can rest assure your wedding will be nothing short of magical!
For our wedding our guests all came up on Friday for a welcome party instead of a small rehearsal dinner. The food and cocktails that evening were casual BBQ style but upscale for sure and beyond delicious. We also had our celebration on Saturday and brunch on Sunday. Weeks after our guests are still telling us they're having a hard time deciding which meal they liked the best because it was all So wonderful. Farm to table quality food for 100 is a hard thing to pull off but Edson Hill did it no doubt. SO many of our guests have reached out to us since the wedding and have all echoed what a phenomenal experience they had the weekend they were at Edson Hill and I cannot express how grateful we are to everyone there for that.
No matter what season you're getting married this venue is not only gorgeous but can provide a secluded space for just your guests in the heart of Stowe with so many other things close by.
Ani, Jesse, Eric, Lee, Sophia and everyone else at Edson Hill, we thank you, we you guys, and can't wait to be back soon!

We took over all the rooms at Edson Hill for our guests for our mid-September wedding weekend and hosted our Friday night welcome BBQ and Saturday post-wedding pizza & s’mores after party there. We could not recommend Edson Hill more highly, both as a place to stay and as a venue to host a large wedding event. Edson Hill is a really special place, and Jesse, Kristen and the entire staff are wonderful people. The setting is idyllic Vermont at its best – rolling hillsides covered in foliage, a winding dirt road that takes you up to the main house, beautiful grounds to walk around on and so on. The rooms have been recently updated and are beautifully and luxuriously done, incredibly comfortable and reasonably priced for what they offer (we have stayed in both the Manor House rooms and some of the guest house rooms, and they’re all great). The food is some of the best we’ve had in Vermont or anywhere for that matter (we are from New York but spend a lot of time at my parents’ home in Vermont) – and amazingly the delicious meals we had experienced in the Edson Hill restaurant and at our tasting translated into equivalently delicious food done for 100+ people at our Friday night BBQ. Our guests raved about Edson Hill throughout the weekend – everyone loved their rooms, loved that everyone staying there was part of the wedding party and couldn’t stop talking about how good the food was. I think many of our guests who had never been to Stowe are already planning second visits to stay at Edson Hill! A bit more on the Edson Hill staff – they were exceptional to work with leading up to the wedding, brought fantastic ideas to the table in terms of food and wine selection and made our tastings so fun and special. They did so many things over the course of the weekend to help make it even more special than it already was for us and our guests – one example is that even though we hadn’t planned for (or asked for) this, they set up an entire bar at no extra charge for our after party I believe because we had a lot of leftover wine from our Friday night event. Thank you so much Jesse and the entire Edson Hill team! We are so grateful to you for hosting us and can’t wait to be back at Edson Hill very soon!
The absolutely ideal wedding venue. We rented out the entire venue for the weekend and held our rehearsal dinner, meet & greet, cocktail hour, reception, and Sunday brunch on the property. Guests were blown away by the service, the decor, and the venue's overall welcoming atmosphere. Jesse and her team were unbelievable - they made our wedding dreams come true, and we are forever grateful!
We booked Edson Hill Manor a year ago for our Fall 2014 wedding. We planned to have our wedding just at the end of the foliage season and they offered us an excellent deal.
Unbeknownst to us, the Manor was sold in August and with a new owner, some of our original plans fell by the wayside.
As we got closer to the date, we also found out that they started renovations on the Manor and our room block was cut in half. Finally, the weekend of our wedding arrived and most of the common spaces in the Manor were closed due to the construction.
The drama and uncertainty of where we would get married and where everyone could stay added such unnecessary stress to our planning. We were literally the last wedding of the season and the Manor was closing the next day.
Our wedding day arrived and we got our lovely living room location. The new owner, Carl, had a huge table built to seat all 30 wedding guests family style in the dining room. Beautiful flowers and candles made an elegant setting. The food was fabulous and served in the 'remains of the day' style that all the guests are still talking about. Every suggestion Carl made turned out perfect. Our day literally went from drama to a dream wedding. Thanks to Carl and the staff at Edson Hill Manor. Chef Chad served a wonderful meal and also breakfast each morning. Our photos on the grounds were fabulous. It was a great location for our small fall wedding.
I am not sure what Edson Hill Manor will become in regards to weddings for the next season. I do believe that Carl Christian and his staff will offer fantastic ideas and service once the Manor is renovated and re-opened.
We chose Edson HIll Manor because of the ability for guests to stay on site and for the completely beautiful setting. We planned to have the ceremony on the upper lawn and the reception under their tent on their patio. Unfortunately, it rained the day of the wedding, and we did not get the chance to use the entire property as planned. However, plan B is a pretty good one. They convert the dance floor tent, which is directly adjacent to the reception tent into a ceremony space.
The new ownership has a lot of plans for the place, and I'm sure they will grow into it. The transition has been a little rocky for us planning, and a few minor details did get dropped. But overall, the experience was great. The chef is amazing! Our food was excellent.
We'd picked out Edson Hill Manor under the previous ownership, largely because of the beautiful setting. Just a few weeks before our wedding, it was sold to a new group of owners. For obvious reasons, we were a bit concerned, but the new owners, especially Carl, who's running the place, are amazing. Carl and his staff absolutely made our day and went the extra mile. The interior is somewhat dated but they're already starting renovations, and we're eager to go back and see how they've transformed the place. The exterior is already absolutely gorgeous, and Carl was telling us some of their plans to improve that further. Highly recommended without hesitation.
We chose to have our wedding reception here and it was perfect. They've done so many weddings they have it all figured out. The food was delicious the setting was gorgeous. They really make the whole process stress free and easy. I highly recommend Edson Hill.
We keep saying that this day could not have been more perfect if we had tried to make it so. Edson Hill's staff were wonderful and friendly and so helpful! We would recommend this location for a wedding any day!
I grew up in VT and wanted to get married there. We wanted to be married outdoors with a view of the mountains, but did not have the time to "do it ourselves" living so far away. We had 6 days in the winter to check out wedding venues, and looked everywhere from Brandon to Waitsfield to Jeffersonville. There are lots of beautiful venues in Stowe, but they'll break the bank, based on (we think) name only!
Edson Hill was a great combination of a "Vermont country inn" destination wedding for our out-of-town guests, without being too snooty. And easy to access for local guests. Quiet, tucked away, and not a hint of the ski resort feeling. The owner Billy is very experienced, organized, and helps guide the process. The price was quite reasonable, just barely over 10K for 90 guests, including bar costs. Cash bar would have brought it down 2K.
Our one concern about the inn was that the rooms could stand upgrading. The "country" decor with lace canopy beds and flower-pattern duvets is a bit outdated, though I suppose some would find it "quaint." Very few rooms have TVs, which is actually ok. Simply changing to a new "modern" (solid) duvet and getting rid of the canopies would spruce up the look and feel. But, if you have a fun wedding, people won't be spending much time in their rooms anyway, and ultimately we decided this was not the most important thing to us.
It ended up raining, so we couldn't have an outdoor ceremony with a view of trees and mountains. But the permanent tent on the patio was up, and chairs easily arranged to accomodate all our guests on the "dance floor / backup ceremony" area. There were no major glitches during the wedding day, except the rain. Our guests told us it was one of the most beautiful weddings they had attended. Again, Billy was very good to work with. He took great care of us. Kudos to Edson Hill!
Edson Hill did a great job with our wedding. We chose them because they offered one of the most affordable packages in the area without skimping on quality (they have a great culinary reputation). The other selling point was that many services were included/provided by Edson Hill. They take care of all the catering, the cake, the bar, the rentals, they own the tent needed for smaller weddings, etc. This meant that we didn't have to hunt down, book, and pay for additional vendors -- a BIG plus for a busy and budget conscious bride! They are willing to work within your vision to make the day run smoothly. (Don't be put off by their outdated web page)
The staff at Edson took care of every detail! They catered, provided the alcohol, recommendations for local music and photographers. One of the owners is a florist as well so it was a one stop shot planning process. Everything turned out beautifully. Now the bad: There were some hidden charges in the room rates - charging our guests a service fee. It was cold and rainy that day and their heaters didn't provide sufficient warmth and they were not that appealing to look at (black tubes just pumping hot air into the tent). Their rain back up option is a little tight - luckily we didn't have a lot of guests.
All in all we had a great time and I would definitely have my wedding there again.
I had my wedding here and everything was great, my guests had a great time and it was more than what we could have asked for. My guests and I had the place all to ourselves so it felt very secluded, food was great and the rooms were very cute.My only suggestion would be to owner, that he needs to be more understanding when it comes to dealing with brides. In some cases I felt like it was just a business transaction to him. I think if he changes his ways from coming off alittle cold some times then the whole experince will be perfect. But at the end of the day my wedding was great and I couldn't have asked for more. I would highly recommend for a great fall wedding location
Billy O'Neil and his staff were beyond prepared and quelled any anxiety I had leading up to, and through the Ceremony and Reception. Edson Hill Manor did all of the food, hors d'oeuvres, dinner, and la piece de resistance: the wedding cake! All fabulously delicious!
We had family from all over the US and Canada in town for the wedding. The views, food, service, EVERYTHING far exceeded everyone's expectations.
I cannot stress how helpful Billy was in planning the wedding, and executing the Wedding Day. Thank you Thank you!!!
We had a smallish (80 guests including the wedding party) wedding, and everything was taken care of perfectly! They were one of the lowest priced venues, but only because they had no need to rent anything, as they already have their own tent and heaters. We had our ceremony out in the Lower Meadow, followed by a stellar reception up on the Terrace. Billy was on hand with any questions or concerns we had, and was so helpful. Intimate, quiet, and beautiful.
