I recently got married on Saturday, October 3 2015 at East Hampton Point and don't know where to begin with this review as it was the BEST weekend of our lives! I worked with Michael Capoferri, the General Manager at EHP for the past year and h...e was fantastic! They hosted us at the resort and we had our ceremony (upstairs balcony), reception (downstairs bar and patio) and after-party (inside bar) as well as Brunch the next day there. The venue itself is gorgeous and while we had bits of Hurricane Joaquin, the weekend far exceeded our expectations and we still enjoyed the beautiful, waterfront views topped off with a surprise backdrop of Billy Joel's boat, which was docked at the Marina!
We looked at many properties out east while venue shopping a year ago and fell in love with EHP immediately. The property itself is gorgeous with water/marina views, tree lined roads and picturesque cottages. We had our family and bridal party stay on-site at the hotel and got ready there too. The cottages are beautifully designed, modern and luxurious and provided for many "after after parties" all weekend!
Michael, the GM, did not miss a beat throughout this year of planning and on the weekend of. He was extremely kind and made sure everything was top notch from accommodations, to food, service, every detail. He was extremely responsive during the planning process and brought in his team that included Annie, our on-site coordinator. Annie is sweet and thorough and had many great ideas. She delivered on all we needed, I can't thank both of them enough! The staff was also exceptional and have worked at the venue for years'. They made sure there was an abundance of food/drinks and that all food came out in a timely fashion.
On to the food, Chef Thomas, the resort Chef, did an awesome job and received rave reviews from our guests! We did the raw bar, sushi bar, carving station, and several other passed appetizers. Then onto dinner we did a salad or crab cakes (to die for) and offered filet mignon, fish and a mushroom truffle risotto. The steak was perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and medium rare inside! The rest of the food was also stellar.
Despite the cold weather and last minute "hurricane" high winds and temperature drop, EHP went above and beyond to make our special weekend the best. I personally like the look of the venue because it's outside on a terrace where you don't have to rent a tent (as many of the other venues out east require for large parties). In the event of bad weather, they are able to drop their clear flaps (still giving you the opportunity to see the view and keeping it warm) and added heat lamps as well. They also have a built in, expandable dance floor outside under the terrace and two mirrored bars (one outside and one in the inside bar). The inside bar has an old sailboat inside of it too. If you are looking for a spectacular venue or hotel, I would give EHP 10 stars. Michael and his team treat you like family and we are so lucky to have had our wedding weekend at EHP!
