We truly could not have asked for a better photography team than Rue (+ Ryan) at Eight Hands Photography! From the very beginning, Rue's communication was excellent, making the entire process feel easy, organized, and stress-free. On our wedding day, they exceeded every expectation. They brought so much positivity and such great energy that it made the whole experience even more enjoyable. They really took the time to listen to what we wanted-our vision, the vibe we were going for, the poses we liked, and the moments that mattered most to us. We never felt awkward in front of the camera because they made us feel so comfortable and confident. They also did an incredible job keeping our timeline on track without ever making us feel rushed. The business owner, Rue, met with us at the start and went through all aspects of the business. Then, we were assigned two of her photographers to work with. I was very pleased with the photographers. They have the best editing style and we've received a lot of compliments on the editing based on the preview we received. Taylor, our lead photographer even gave me a few photos two days after the wedding, so I could show my students! She was so lovely to do that and such a sweet person to work with!

Hi. Hello. Good day. We're Bryan and Rue, a husband and wife photog team from the outskirts of Chicago. We are still living out our own love story - which is what inspired us to take our passion for photography and human connection to the world of wedding photography. Rue enjoys stand-up comedy, any kind of latte and most of all creating beautiful works of art. Bryan is the MacGyver of this operation, who can literally dream up and build just about anything. He's a technical wizard and a 15 -steps-ahead kind of guy. He's a dog lover, a coffee connoisseur and a camera lighting visionary.

great framing with both intimate and party shots in different aspects and lighting. The made sure to get all the small details and pivoted to shots we wanted in the moment. During our photos, the lighting was just too good and Rue made sure she got all the shots she wanted because she knew it would mean a lot to us. She was very flexible with a change in our schedule and was easy to work with other vendors, mainly videographer. y are they incredible photographers to work with, they help so much with the planning process - like making an entire day-of timeline, going through the important groups to photograph, etc. On the day of, Rue arrived at my house where all the girls were getting ready and got right to work. She seamlessly got all the detail shots, and then got everyone ready for first looks and other special photos. Rue and Bryan are so kind and fun, and they really were able to corral everyone for all the photos we requested be taken. They go above and beyond, like Rue helping to bustle my dress when my bridesmaids needed an extra hand. y getting our ceremony on video when our videographer did not show up! In our initial zoom call, we knew right away that we would be going with Eight Hands Photography for our wedding day. Not only did Rue & Bryan do an excellent job at explaining the different package options and working with us on swapping some items within the package to make it just right for us but they are also so genuinely kind and fun to be around! We have such stunning and unique photos from our wedding day that we now have displayed all around our home thanks to their gift of some prints of our favorite photos and to Rue’s help with designing our perfect wedding album. We are so thankful for how accommodating Rue was when it came to getting our wedding album designed as we were a state away and weren’t able to meet in person, after a bit of back and forth with revisions we finalized the album and received it in the mail very quickly after! Outside of our wedding, Rue took the time to set up a call and talk with one of our good friends who has recently started her own photography business to provide mentorship - once again showing how genuinely kind this team is!! married, so at the start of our call they asked us to talk about each other and our story. I will never forget that call because it gave us a moment in the planning process to reflect on what we love about each other and how we had arrived at our engagement. We knew by the end of the call these were two people we could hang out with all day and could trust with our photos. Both our engagement photos and wedding photos were done by Eight Hands. The engagement shoot was so much fun, and Rue has such a wonderful eye for finding the special shot in any location. Rue and Bryan checked in with us leading up to the wedding, getting the info of our other vendors and ultimately offering to shoot video for our wedding in addition to photography. We are so thankful to have chosen such a talented and fun team to take our wedding photos and video. Our photos and videos are STUNNING, and Eight Hands managed to capture every single one of the little details we put together for the day. Making our wedding album was so hard because we genuinely had 800+ perfect photos to choose from. We received our wedding album last week and are blown away by it. Seeing those photos at the scale of the 12” album is so special and we will cherish it forever. I left their office for the last time saying “they’re taking every family photo of us forever,” because I don’t want to say goodbye! Book them if they’re free you will not regret it!

So many of our guests commented on how friendly and on top of things they were. I don't think there was a single moment they didn't manage to capture. The detail shots are gorgeous. The candid moments of getting ready are some of my absolute favorites. The dancing shots make me laugh as if I'm still on that dance floor, and yet I'm also honored to be able to look at them for the rest of my life because they're just that beautiful. I'm also a huge fan of their lighting techniques that really make each photo more dynamic.

They consciously planned video chats to make sure everyone knows what to expect and to go over day of details / timelines. Rue has a calming presence that was needed for me to calm my pre-ceremony nerves while in the bridal suite. The bride and groom get access to all the media from the photo booth - we enjoyed looking at them on our honeymoon. If you are looking for a creative photography style, they got you! Without reading any reviews I simply got to know this husband and wife duo, looked at all their work and realized I found two people that are extremely passionate about the work they do and I may have just found the missing link for our big day. These two have infectious personalities and are you official hype team from beginning to end. The quality and quantity of photos they provided allow us to relive our wedding over and over again. The best part about having these two is they take the time to get to know you prior to your wedding, have multiple check ins, assist with your timeline, throw your your own photo reveal party, and assist you in creating your album. wedding find! They are the sweetest and funniest couple with such a high quality set of skills! Our engagement and wedding photos came out so amazingly and we have received so many compliments! They always make a point to get one “special photo” of the bride and groom and they did not disappoint! It’s our most talked about photo! Bryan and Rue and are definitely the full package- personality and quality! So easy to get along with, they felt like family the moment we met them! We are looking forward to using them in the future for family photos!

gave us many unique angles and vantage points and helped ensure not a moment was missed! They even helped us ensure that we stayed on schedule with all our events by helping us make a plan for the day of. I can’t imagine anyone regretting hiring eight hands photography, I would recommend them 10 out of 10 times!

to wear, sending me examples and ultimately helping me pick out a final outfit for Mark and I. Booking them thru the pandemic we ran into some hiccups- We got sick and had to reschedule, not knowing if we can shoot inside our favorite bar for pictures, along with me being so indecisive, Rue helped every step of the way. she made us feel calm she was such a joy to talk to on the actual shoot day! Thanks for everything! Pictures turned out great, of course :)

Both worked together to make sure my special day ran smoothly including doing their research of the proposed picture scenes. They make everything feel so personalized. Would absolutely recommend :)

to reaching out to the venue to get more information about it before reaching out to us. Our initial meeting was great they both listened and understood what we wanted. Their communication was great. They were easy to get a hold of if we had any questions, and they continued to keep in touch with us the whole time until the wedding. They both work as a team and having two photographers is well worth it. They were able to capture amazing shots from different angles. Some of our favorite pictures are the candid shots. They captured us enjoying our special day. We both felt at ease taking pictures. We were worried that we would look uncomfortable in the pictures, but they were able to capture who we are as a couple. Rue would joke with us when we took our sunset/couple photos and made the whole process fun. She captured great pictures. We also didn’t have to wait too long to see our wedding pictures which is awesome since we were so excited to see them. You can clearly see they love what they do! We are so happy we chose them to photograph our wedding. We highly recommend them!
