EK Cakery is a wedding cake business located in Belvidere, IL. Owner Erica is committed to creating premium cakes, cupcakes, and cookies for your special occasion. Her baked goods are made from scratch and prepared with love and attention. EK Cakery represents the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. From her youth, Erica dreamed of becoming a chef. She admits that her earliest efforts were not always successful, and she produced apple pies that even family members couldn’t bring themselves to love. Erica was not dismayed, however. She never gave up. She continued to practice and learn, and in the fullness of time, she earned a place at the French Pastry School in Chicago. Today, she is delighted to say that her family loves everything she bakes. Erica feels honored to be part of some of life’s most precious events. Her passion for her work and her devotion to her clients is evident in everything she bakes. Erica prides herself on her attention to detail. Every item on her menu is prepared to the most exacting standards, and her cakes are specially designed with the customer’s needs in mind. Each cake is comprised of four layers of cake and three layers of filling. Couples are invited to enjoy a wide selection of delicious cakes. Options include double dark chocolate cake, strawberry vanilla cake, and red velvet cake, made with cocoa, vanilla bean cream cheese frosting, and white chocolate ganache. Cupcakes are available in all of Erica’s signature cake flavors, and decorated sugar cookies can be ordered in vanilla bean and chocolate. EK Cakery would be delighted to help you design the wedding cake of your dreams. Erica offers consultations, private tastings, and more. I highly recommend EK Cakery for any wedding cake/dessert needs if you are in the Rockford/Belvidere area! Easily the best bakery in the area. EK Cakery did the decorated cookies for my bridal shower & the cutting cake for my wedding. Not only were both the cookies & cake beautifully decorated just like my inspiration photos, but they tasted delicious! They delivered our cutting cake to our wedding venue for us & it was so low-stress & easy. Erica is so friendly & makes the experience so lovely. 10/10 would recommend!

From the cake tasting to the wedding day, Erica and team were amazing! You will not be disappointed by choosing EK Cakery for your special day. Everyone loved the cupcakes, and we LOVED our cake! Not to mention, they were beautiful looking. We enjoyed the cake tasting and cupcake sampling to help in making our choices. The rental stands were beautiful as well.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Erica and her cakes. The cake for both my daughters wedding and her bridal shower were absolutely delicious as well as her macaroons and sweets table items. Our guests raved about everything! Thank you, Erica!

Erica and her team are the best! Erica was able to take all of my ideas and put them into the perfect wedding cake and grooms cake. She was even able to keep the grooms cake a surprise from my soon to be husband until he saw it at the wedding. Not only were the cakes picture perfect, but it was hands down the best cake we have eaten. We had a different flavor of cake for each tier and for the grooms cake. We also had cookies made for the dessert table and they were equally as phenomenal. Erica and her team had the desserts all setup and delivered promptly the morning of the wedding so they were ready for the big day. She handled everything from the designs to delivery and she nailed it. We got so many complements from our guests the day of the wedding and the months following the wedding on our desserts. We have also frequented the bakery post wedding for baked holiday goods and desserts. 1000/10 recommend EK Cakery!!!

LOOK NO FURTHER FOR YOUR WEDDING PASTRY NEEDS! I cannot say enough good things about Erica and EK Cakery. Her customer service is spectacular, and she really goes above and beyond to make you feel like your wants/needs are her only focus (despite the fact that she is most likely working on MULTIPLE events at any given time). She was very patient with us and really helped us form our vision for our big day. And we can't forget about the quality of her baked goods. My husband and I ordered our wedding cake and cupcakes from EK Cakery and they were an absolute hit (pictures attached). Honestly, Erica made a huge positive impact on us and is an important part to our story. We love you Erica!!

Honest to goodness, cannot recommend EK Cakery enough. We booked our wedding with Erica in early 2020. She was incredibly understanding when we had to move our wedding date due to COVID. This worked out great because it allowed us two additional years to try a wide variety of the cakerie's offerings, as we would stop by on their Saturday hours to try purchase some treats. Our favorites are by far the macaroons and cupcakes. The day of the wedding Erica and her team were fantastic! They were super timely, rocked out set-up, and the decor options selected were perfect. We also ended up ordering a tres leche for a non-wedding event which also tasted AMAZING!!! Also, their s'mores-flavored marshmallows? I could go on and on.

We couldn’t have been happier with choosing EK Cakery! Erica made all of our dreams come true (mine mostly) as far as what I had envisioned. Our wedding cake was small, we chose to have it only for us and our bridal party/immediate family, but it was stunning! I’m addition, we had a sweets table adorned with 3 of our favorite flavors for cupcakes (2 of which mimicked our cake blueberry maple and lemon raspberry) as well as an assortment of bars and cookies. People are still telling us how amazing it all was!

We would recommend EK Cakery above all others for your wedding cake needs. Not only was the cake absolutely gorgeous, it was also one of the best I have tasted. We opted for a 3-layer cake and were allowed a unique flavor for each layer. All were fantastic! Erica and her husband are very kind and good people, and it was an honor doing business with them.

Erica is absolutely wonderful! I wish I could give her more than 5 stars because she is the sweetest and made us the most beautiful, delicious wedding cake that exceeded our expectations in every way!! Everything from the cake tasting, to capturing the details was seamless and she made the process so enjoyable. Our guests could not stop raving about how delicious the almond cake was!! She even made accommodations for guests with allergies and they were equally as pleased with their scrumptious cupcakes. I will forever be loyal to EK Cakery!!

Erica made the process so easy, from understanding our ideas and how much we'd need, to picking up beautiful samples, to making sure the desserts tasted wonderful. Our almond wedding cake was even better than the sample. Plus they happen to make the most delicious cupcakes in the area for a little post-wedding treat!

The cake tasting was one of the most fun parts of the wedding planning, with a really cute set up and 4 beautiful cakes for us to try. There were so many great and unique flavors. Can I give EK Cakery more stars than 5? From the very beginning with our initial meeting and tasting with Erica - we knew she was the person we wanted to work with! Our cake decoration needs weren't extreme - our wedding theme was simple and elegant - but the flavors! OMG! It was so hard to choose so we chose four! Top knotch in everything! So easy to work with and definitely the best cake I've ever had. Everyone at the wedding (including the woman who crashed the wedding) raved about it. From the cake testing to the actual wedding day, Erica nailed it. Her trial cakes are amazing and actually super large we were able to box them home and have other family members try it! We knew that after trying one cake we wanted to book with Erica. My husband and I actually were really set on doing a “naked cake” because we are not big frosting/buttercream frosting type people. But oh my lord, after trying Erica’s homemade buttercream frosting we changed our minds really fast. We told her to frost that whole cake and even add more, because that’s how good it was!! She was able to envision exactly what we wanted design wise and our wedding cake was absolutely breath taking, I didn’t even want to cut into it. The cake was delicious, I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Thank you Erica! You truly are talented.

From the beginning, Erica has been absolutely amazing. The tasting was great - even though it was a tasting, Erica took the time to make the presentation beautiful. We were blown away by both the flavors and the looks. For our wedding, we ended up getting a display cake for cutting which was AMAZING, four flavors of cupcakes for the guests, a variety of dessert bars, and gourmet marshmallows. All were delicious! Erica helped us plan out the proper number of desserts so we didn't get too much and have a lot of leftovers - we only ended up with a small box of cupcakes leftover because the numbers were perfect. We also rented display stands from Erica, and the way it was set up was flawless! Throughout the process, working with Erica was the easiest thing to do. We highly recommend Erica and EK Cakery for any of your cake and dessert needs!

This small business feels like family from the first inquiry through the tasting and finally to the wedding. Erica is the sweetest person. She delivered EXACTLY what was promised. The tasting was adorable and over the top with FOUR mini cakes and milk. The attention to detail is beyond. Excellent communication as well. But the cake? Oh. My. Goodness. Our guests literally stole extra cupcakes that had been packaged for us and were seen hiding them on the shuttle! Amazing flavors, moist and beautifully decorated. Do not pass up the chance to have EK Cakery be a part of your wedding.

To start, we set up an initial appointment with Erica to discuss our ideas and also try four flavors of our choice of cake. We were blown away by the size of these cakes she made for us to try as we got to go home with them afterwards. So delicious!! Wow just incredible! I showed Erika a Pintrest photo of what we wanted and she delivered! The cake was gorgeous and EXACTLY like the inspiration photo. It was almost too pretty to eat, but I am glad we did because we got so many compliments on how delicious the cake was. The icing is like nothing I've ever had before. Just amazing!

Erica brought my cake dreams to life! One of the only things I REALLY wanted for my wedding was a geode cake. I found an inspiration photo on Pinterest and started reaching out to bakeries. The few responses I received didn't "wow" me, and then my mom found Erica. My mom, husband (fiancé at the time), and I went to see Erica to talk out our ideas and have a cake tasting. Erica assured us she could create the cake of our dreams. She was extremely kind and informative, and we had a great time chatting with her. I'm not a huge cake-lover, but MAN—were her cakes delicious! We ended up getting 4 different sheet cake flavors and they were all delicious. We also had an absolutely gorgeous 3-tier geode cake with turquoise and gold. And, the cake was even prettier than the inspiration photo I originally found. The cake matched our theme perfectly and was stunning. We had so many compliments about how beautiful is was and how delicious the sheet cakes were. I would 1000% recommend Erica to any bride or someone just wanting a fun cake. Thank you Erica!

It was great working with Erica on our wedding cake!! She was super sweet (no pun intended) and the cake was both delicious and beautiful - her cake tastings was also THE CUTEST and she made us feel so comfortable while still following COVID precautions. I really appreciate the way she adapted our plans to the ever-changing guest list and made our cake concept come to life just from a conversation. This is a hidden gem in the northern Illinois area. Erica and her husband were amazing at our outdoor wedding! It took place during September 2020 and i was very impressed by everything! First off all the cupcakes arrived flawlessly, even after traveling out to our country farm location! the cake we ordered was beautifully done and just incredible flavor. The tasting was an extremely enjoyable experience with four small (but actually pretty large) cakes made just for us with the flavors we chose. The back and forth to finalize the design was seamless, and she was extremely accommodating as we had to make a number of changes (wedding date, size, etc.) due to COVID-19. Highly recommend!

When our 2020 wedding plans abruptly changed we needed to rethink dessert. A family member recommended Erica and I couldn't have been happier. She was very accommodating when we couldn't decide on flavors and worked wonders with very limited guidance. We wanted something simple and understated using our wedding colors, and Erica created both a beautiful two-tiered cake and frosted sugar cookies to match. And everything was delicious - our guests were fighting over the leftovers! (When you go in to pick up your cake, be sure to grab a few chocolate chip cookies too - yum!)

We loved working with Erica! During this hectic time Erica and her team were so accommodating and helpful. They really help relieve some stress that comes with planning during an pandemic. We were able to talk about price point, the amount of cake we wanted, and just the cake testing alone was a real treat! And they were in the perfect price point for our budget. It truly was an easy and fun experience!

Erica and her husband helped us create the yummiest array of deserts that our guest loved so much nothing was left at the end of the night. They are the sweetest and kindest couple! They really care about the customers vision. The tasting was my favorite experience with a vendor and we will forever remember it. The showed up and did everything their self and made it look amazing. During this stressful time they made us feel secure and accommodated as the number of guest changed closer to the wedding.

We couldn’t have been happier with our experience with Erica Koren Cakery! I would recommend this lovely bakery time and time again. The owner, Erica, is super sweet and talented. She was prompt with communication, listened to what we wanted to help create our vision, and her work is just so beautiful! We ordered a smaller two-tier wedding cake for us, and wedding cupcakes. Everything was so perfect and pretty! And our guests couldn’t stop commenting about how yummy the cupcakes were and wanted to know where we got them. Vendors make all the difference with your wedding, I can’t say that enough! Erica is the best. So many hugs and thanks to her!!!

Simply the most delicious cake we’ve ever eaten. Moist. Sweet. And beautiful! Not only was Erika professional and fun to work with to plan our big day, but she also delivered several desserts and a spectacular gluten free carrot cake. We loved it so much we ate every slice not even keeping a piece to eat on our anniversary. I just plan on ordering a full size cake in a year. Our guests were commenting left and right at how delicious the desserts were, too! That’s we confirmation we chose the best bakery. Thank you, Erika, for truly delivering for us. I seriously can't say enough... our wedding was postponed because of COVID19 and actually reschedule to be EVEN SOONEr than we expected so we could do it outdoors/reduce risk for our guests. Erica was extremely accommodating!!! The tasting was incredible.. and made it SO hard to decide because each one was delicious. I swear she made the cake bigger than we ordered, because I know some guests requested a second piece and were able to get it!!! She also made gluten free/nut free cupcakes for guests who needed it and they loved how special that was. She did amazing, not to mention she is just the sweetest!! We are so glad that Alexia from Aces Event Planning was able to connect us with Erica!! THANK YOU ERICA, and we will be using any excuse to buy a cake in order to use your services again!!!!

Our wedding was canceled due to the covid19 situation and I had 5 days to plan a small celebration between family members after the court house was open. Erica was amazing in dealing with and she called me immediately after I left her voice mail, not mentioning the cake was so beautiful just as I wanted it to be, I also ordered the wedding cookies and they were so beautiful. Thank you and I would definitely come back to order in future celebrations.

Erica did a great job with our wedding desserts from start to finish. She gave us lots of options to try for our tasting and everything was amazing. We also had her do desserts bars which she usually doesn’t do for weddings but she was nice enough to do them for us. The peanut butter and jelly bar is one of the best desserts we’ve ever had so I recommend that. We did the blueberry maple for cake flavor which also was amazing. I highly recommend Erica for who anybody who lives in the state line area!! She’s definitely one of the most talented pastry chefs I’ve seen. Thank you for everything!

Choosing a bakery for our wedding was one of our top priorities during planning. We wanted to make sure the cake looked beautiful while tasting amazing. Erica Koren Cakery was recommended to us by some of the other vendors we were in contact with. We sat down for the cake tasting and immediately knew that this was the bakery for us. First, it was SO difficult to choose our wedding cake because every single flavor we tried was delicious. In the end we selected blueberry maple, and we are so happy we did! When explaining our "wedding vision/style", Erica knew exactly what we were envisioning and brainstormed ways to make it happen. Erica did an AMAZING job with our wedding cake! We are still receiving comments about how unique and delicious the cake was 7 months later.

Huge thank you to Erica for her amazing wedding cakes. From the tasting to the wedding day, Erica was amazing to work with. All her flavors were so yummy that we served four of them at the wedding. All four were a huge hit (Double dark chocolate, Red Velvet, Raspberry cream and the bride/groom's favorite-Cookies and Cream!) I would highly recommend Erica, sincerely, Mother of the Bride.

I was beyond excited when we booked Erica for our wedding! I have had the pleasure of meeting this wonderful Woman many years ago. Before she had opened her bakery, and she spoiled me in showing her love through her treats! It was like my dream come true when I realized I was able to book her for the wedding! I had even said to my husband if we aren't booking Erica than I dont want cake! The cup cakes and our own cake was out of this world delicious! I dont even think I was through with eating our first bite of cake before I was shoving a cupcake in as well! I have had countless people say the must know where it came from so they can have more! My sister pregnant at the time called me and said " I have never wanted anything more during this pregnancy than more of those cupcakes!" I literally could go on forever with how amazing her cakes are! Erica is beyond talented. Do your self a huge favor and book her for anything and everything you can!

Cake was amazing! I love cake so much my bride made me in charge of the wedding cake. She knew i had high expectations. I choose E k cakery because it was the best cake I've ever tasted. Price was great. Delivery was on time. Staff is amazing. Can't wait for the next time i need a cake. I will be choosing E K cakery.
