r our first dance. I came across one of Elaine’s TikToks and am so glad we did! She was so communicative and easy to work with. We are not local to Elaine so we worked with her exclusively online. The video explanations were easy to follow and we loved getting to learn our dance at our own pace from home. Elaine took her time getting to know us and our preferences for the dance, and the final product was very much reflective of this.The first time we watched our choreography, I was a *little* bit skeptical that we would be able to pull that off. But we did!! And it was so much fun and was such a special part of the wedding planning process. We absolutely would recommend her to anyone looking for choreography regardless of your dance experience!

ience with ballroom dancing did not align well with our desire to execute on a traditional style first dance, especially as an LGBTQ+ couple. We went to a sample dance class at a larger studio, but each of us had a gut feeling that this dance studio was more interested in churning out first dances without enough attention to everyone's unique wants/needs in an instructor. We were offered a discount to pay for a lesson package then and there, and just felt "off" about the situation. Our continued search led us to Elaine's profile, and her specialization in ballroom, experience, and unique approach to teaching LGBTQ+ couples stood out to us, although we are sure she is equally as talented with traditional dance! We had a short consultation with Elaine over a call and immediately felt more at ease knowing our goals for our first dance style would be heard. During our first in-person lesson with Elaine, we discussed the style we wanted and level of formality and learned basic steps. Elaine took videos for us to refer to when practicing at home, counting and giving audio cues in the videos - this was very helpful. By our second lesson, Elaine had already choreographed a full dance appropriate to the skill level she perceived we had and our requests. Throughout the remaining lessons, we felt supported and Elaine was always responsive if a piece of choreography didn't feel like "us" - Elaine was quick to come up with alternatives to make us feel comfortable with our dance. Her wealth of experience with ballroom dance was evident as she showed us the steps herself, was able to lead or follow during our practices with ease, and could pick out small technique changes to make our dance look more natural. We are so excited for our upcoming wedding and feel much more confident. Thanks, Elaine!

After about 5 sessions we were feeling good, and after 8 we had it mostly down. It was so nice to be able to slow down together and our dance practice forced us to physically check in with one another during the days that were otherwise consumed by last minute wedding stress. On the day of, during our first dance, our friends and family were cheering for us. Nobody has ever cheered for me on a dance floor. It was such a fun moment that I’ll never forget.

If you’re looking for a talented dance teacher who is also kind and supportive, can't recommend Elaine highly enough!

e had so much fun learning the choreography Elaine put together based on the song we chose and a video of a dance we found online. Neither of us are trained dancers so we didn't really know what to expect or how things were going to turn out. Everything turned out perfect. We took 5 lessons which, if you want to learn an entire song (roughly 4 mins), would highly recommend this package. Also considering how much fun we had, might have even added on an extra one or two for good luck (though our last lesson did end up being only 2 weeks before the big day!) We definitely blew our friends and family away which is always fun when you hear literal screaming as you try not to laugh and keep your eyes fixed on your partner as you prepare for the lift and spin to really knock em out of their chairs! You can't go wrong with Elaine - we're so happy with how our dance turned out and enjoyed the entire process from start to finish.
