She listened to exactly what I wanted and gave different options to pick from including to personalize my gown. What made my experience more amazing is that Farah was there to help me through all the fitting appointments and even to the day I picked up my dress. Throughout the whole process Farah was very attentive, caring and very flexible with all my requests and we had a great communication. Thank you Farah for all your help! Actually, every dress she pulled was exactly my taste and I was amazed at how she picked up on my style with just a couple of pinterest photos I sent her before my appointment! She was extremely patient, kind, knowledgeable and I didn't feel at all rushed or pressured to make a decision. The shop was very intimate, cozy, and had a very peaceful setting. All the staff were very friendly. I highly highly recommend to swing by for a bridal appointment if you are looking for a dress!

am being honest- with the first dress that was brought over, I almost felt completely dejected. It was just not me at all. The second dress- more of the same. I was almost ready to just move on to the next appointment I had scheduled for later in the day. And that is when Farah stepped in. She brought over two more styles that encompassed everything I had envisioned. I tried on both- but completely and utterly fell in love with the last. So did everyone else- to include the rest of the salon staff. Seemingly- we all had a moment and it just felt right. Everyone stopped what they were doing, commented, and starred in awe. Pictures and videos were many! The girls were so friendly and rooting me on... You could feel it was genuine and not a sales strategy. Not wanting to move too quickly, I did venture off to another salon- just to be 1000% certain. I wanted to try on one very specific gown that my daughter loved. Farah asked to see that gown and I showed her. She agreed that it was gorgeous- even pulled up a video, but felt the dress I had just stepped out of was more ME. She even went so far as to call the other salon to ensure that they had the dress in store for me to try on. They did- and she asked them to move up my appointment so I could come in earlier to see the dress sooner- IN A WHOLE OTHER SALON! That right there blew me away. She was committed to me finding my dream dress, not just any dress. Needless to say- I tried on that other dress and while it was gorgeous and tough competition- Farah was right! My dream dress awaited me at Elegance by Roya where I retuned to seal the deal! I said YES to the dress and I could not be happier! Farah was amazing! She listened and really invested in our appointment. The rest of the staff was also incredible, and the receptionist just awesome- so warm and genuine. The salon itself is beautiful, clean, and sensitive to COVID safety measures. You will not be disappointed!

Ayesha definitely understands brides and how to give them a great experience. She was also extremely knowledgeable about each designer, each style of gown, and each accessory and their designer (veil and tiara were also purchased). She explained the fitting process clearly, answered all questions thoroughly, and walked me through the designer's sizing chart so I would feel confident that the right size was being ordered. They even held onto the veil and tiara and for someone whose totally chaotic in their day to day life, I really appreciate not risking them getting lost! The entire team was also friendly, kind, and welcoming to my mom and aunt who came with me, and I loved how they both felt included after the fact and like their opinions were also heard! Overall, I would highly recommend any bride who wants a beautiful, stress free experience, to go to Elegance by Roya.

They had a huge selection of dresses at every price point and everyone was positive and friendly. She ended up suggesting a dress that was extremely similar to my top contender from that morning but at about half the price and with even better details. Rhe’a did my alterations and made sure everything was exactly how I wanted it. We ended up adding a bustle and buttons and they were absolutely perfect. She was so patient and had me come in multiple times to ensure my dress fit like a glove, and the final alterations were amazing. I absolutely loved my dress and Elegance by Roya was so easy to work with from beginning to end.

ultimately ruined the biggest day of my life. I spent thousands of $$$ on both my dress and alterations and yet after a few min of wearing the dress, it stretched so much that it literally slipped down exposing my nipples for all to see. At every fitting I asked for reassurance that the dress wouldn’t cause issues noting that I am busty and the dress was strapless, every time I was met with “Oh no honey, this is your dress, it’s perfect.”! I put my trust in Elegance by Roya & their professional guidance, and was reassured this was the dress for me, and I would have no problems even after spending over $1k on final alterations. NEVER did I expect to have a wedding gown stretch and fall-down exposing my entire chest!!! I missed irreplaceable moments and suffered humiliation by standing in front of my Pastor, now husband, bridal party, and invited guests with my entire bosom exposed! I struggled to make it through the ceremony with only adjusting myself a few times, when we turned to the audience to be announced as husband and wife it should have been a moment of joy, love, and happiness and for me I was forced to lift my flowers in front of my chest as we ran out of the church with me in tears. Thankfully I had a shawl in my possession and was able to wrap myself so that we could later take photos. Additionally, we had to change our 1st dance and father daughter dance due to my dress issue… there went months of dance lessons and over $700 out the door on a routine we couldn’t perform. I was unable to mingle with my guests and I missed the party I spent months of planning and thousands of dollars on. My bridesmaids were ultimately able to find some elastic and decided to stitch the elastic on the dress to hold it up so I could go out and enjoy the final moments of my wedding before the event ended and guests left. As you can see in the photos attached, it was much more cleavage than should have been showing so not tasteful at all, and this also took time to stitch on causing me to miss more of my reception than I should have. While most brides look forward to receiving their wedding photos back from the photographer, I was left forced to pay my photographer additional monies to photo shop pictures of me in my dress so that I have some type of memory of the day I actually married the man of my dreams, though I never want to see that dress again and have no desire to preserve it or turn it into a family keepsake. This dress issue has left me emotionally scarred instead of the joy of being able to look back fondly on my wedding day. I asked that Elegance by Roya return my payment in full with the store taking back their gown to study the issue and ensure that no bride experiences this same type of situation, they refused and advised that I should have called them on my wedding day and will not stand behind their merchandise. I disagree with their decision and advise any bride looking for a remotely decent bridal shop to RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN IN THE OTHER DIRECTION. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE.

carried my preferred wedding designer (Lazaro). Very few salons I found carried his dresses, and this is one of them. I even ended up purchasing my wedding day earrings from them. They have a large selection of very classy jewelry. The salon itself is beautiful. It has huge full, length mirrors, comfy couches, and a large selection of gorgeous dresses. The crystal chandeliers and warm lighting give this salon such an elegant vibe. I had to go for multiple fittings, and each time, Farah made me feel both comfortable and beautiful. When leaving with my dress and veil, both came in separate garment bags of excellent quality. You would think parking in Old Town could be tricky, but I never seemed to have trouble on the side streets near the salon. It was never more than a 2 block walk from car to salon door. The ladies at Elegance were wonderful to work with. They always replied quickly to my e-mails and my mom’s phone calls. They were pretty flexible with me to find appointment times that would work with my schedule. If you are looking for a beautiful salon, (and a Lazaro) look no further than Elegance by Roya! You will truly feel like a queen on your wedding day.

My gown was originally strapless but a couple of months before the wedding I decided I wanted to doing something else (and enclose everything), and let me tell you what I had envisioned Farah made it happen and she made recommendations and it was simply elegant!! During the entire time, going for the bridal fittings I felt like a bride, but it was until the week of the wedding and my final fitting that I broke down crying, my wedding gown was simply AMAZING, I could not believe how Farah just made everything come together. Farah (Elegance by Roya) is so professional to the point that the week of wedding I had two bridal fittings, just because Farah wanted to ensure that everything was perfect and it was. I got married on June 29th, 2019 and I am still getting compliments on my wedding gown, there was not a dry eye in the church, when I came down the aisle. But I guess that is why the shop is called "Elegance by Roya" because everything is simply "elegant" and they know their business. Farah even made a video on how to bustle the dress... I am telling you first class all the way. Farah is always very calm, to be honest I think I was okay until the week of the wedding - but Farah really took care of me and even though they have a lot of brides coming in and out - she still made me feel like I was the only bride. I had asked if the dress was too loose because I worried that it would fall down if I walked and danced in it and was reassured that it wouldn't, and immediately after putting it on, it was falling down and I kept having to pull it up. Now I'm calling emergency bridal alterations in Chicago a week before my wedding to figure out how to get my dress to not fall down or buy a new one. Update 6/11/18: wedding happened on 6/8/19. I ended up not being able to see any emergency bridal alterations shops in Chicago. I had let the Roya team know several times that we would be leaving for Chicago on 6/2 for my 6/8 wedding, and there would be no way for them to make any corrections. I looked wonderful, but was anxious the whole time leading up to the wedding and didn't feel good in my dress. The hooks on the back of the dress ended up cutting my back, leaving me bleeding by the end of the night. The elastic for the buttons also completely came off before the end of the night. In retrospect, I felt uncomfortable during the alterations process because anytime I had brought up anything, it felt like I was being gaslighted because I would just get all these compliments instead of being listened to. I also felt awful because the alterations person was snippy with me about having to redo the bust for wanting to take out the cups they had sewn in. Which, I had never asked for cups to be sewn in, and made me feel awful about my body when I put on the bra that was recommended to purchase for the dress. I'm extremely disappointed with the lack of any remediation after posting my Yelp review (https://www.yelp.com/biz/elegance-by-roya-alexandria-4). This place doesn't really care about the bride after they've made the purchase, as shown by its shoddy alterations work.

They took us right away, which was great for our crew which was desperately looking for some air conditioning. Jane was conscious of staying within our budget and picking dresses that fit what I was looking for (I'm too pale for white on white) without requiring modifications by the designer. She helped me get into each dress, which the previous store did not. Jane was also super patient as we took pictures and video in each dress to see how they flowed when I walked and so I could see what it would look like. She wanted to make sure I had the dress of my dreams. I went for two fittings and came home with my dress at the second fitting. During the fittings, my Aunt who was local came with me. Jane showed her how to do the buttons and bustle the dress. She did it multiple times while my Aunt took video to ensure we didn't have any issues day of. Definitely recommend Jane and Elegance!

Farah went out of her way to order the dress for me to try on and was able to fit me in before the store even opened so I could try it on with my mom. I fell in love with the dress and I knew it was the one. 6 months later my dress arrived and if I thought the dress selection was personal, Farah went above and beyond with alterations. I asked for several rounds of alterations on the dress and Farah accommodated each one with delight. She was not going to let me out of the store unless I felt perfect in the dress. Again, she was able to see me at any time that worked for my schedule and I was back in her store three times the week leading up to my wedding. All in all, two days before my wedding, I walked out with the dress of my dreams and, about two months ago, I walked down the aisle in the most fabulous dress. I couldn’t have done it without Elegance by Roya. A truly unforgettable experience.

The absolutely fabulous Farrah at EBR helped me in adding straps that looked like they were 100% made for the dress and removing some of the extra fabric to make it a lot more manageable for me but still flowy and gorgeous. I went to two other shops that day, but still loved that first dress so my MOH called to see if we could come back. She was more than happy to have me back, put me back in the dress and veil so I could say yes to it! When it came time for my fittings, she was equally as pleasant and professional. She made sure I was comfortable with the fit (miraculously I only had to alter the straps, add in the cups and get a bustle) and scheduled me for my final fitting as close to the wedding as possible to make sure I had the perfect fit. When I came in for the final fitting, everything fit perfectly! She walked me through the bustle and how it was set up, including taking several pictures and videos to make sure I was all set on the day and my dress was a huge hit. Everyone thought it was beautiful and the perfect one for me. Definitely recommend anyone to work with her since she made me feel so comfortable and beautiful, I have sent one person there already and am going back with a friend to help her in her dress search soon! le always taking my opinion into consideration. It was a little disappointing because I ended up having 5 to 6 dress fittings due to it never fitting quite right. At one fitting the seamstress took it out way too much and at the next fitting it was way too tight. So I’m not sure what happened there since I have a pretty typical body type. My dress was strapless and the day of the wedding the top was coming out a little bit so I had to scramble to find tape to keep it up before the ceremony. All in all it came out great and I got so many compliments on it but having to go to so many fittings took away from the experience a little bit. I would still recommend Elegance By Roya since they have beautiful wedding dresses and very involved staff who work there.

She took into consideration my budget, the rustic vintage style I was into to, and also pulled dresses I was open to trying as well. She has a passion in what she does and really gets to know her brides by listening to them. When measurements were taken and I came in for my first fitting, we didn’t have to take anything in, it fit like a glove! Only needed some hemming and we added some pearl buttons to the back to make in unique. Incredible experience where everyone is nice and professional! Recommend this boutique to any bride who’s looking for a dress! We ended up adding accent pearls to the back of my dress to make it more unique

s like “why are you here” there was one other young lady trying on dresses. We stood around for about 10 mins while they sorted things out and ensured an appointment. The young lady who was working the receptionist desk (her names escapes me) was very friendly and got me a few dresses and made room for me to try them on. I tried on a few. Settled on one. Let me just be clear and 100% honest I, obviously had gone to a few other bridal boutiques where the small things really made a difference and if they’d had my wedding gown I would’ve gotten it from them instead. There was no “excitement” “yes to the dress moment” champagne or anything at all when I found my dress. It was oh you’ve found the dress great... sign, sign, sign and let me swipe your card and get on to the next person who just walked through the door which really sucks! Ive since then not been contacted (I was told my dress should take about 3 months to come in) I’ve called and inquired about it and no one seems to know anything about my order-WHICH IS CRAZY! There was no follow up to even send an email to say oh thank you for purchasing, etc, etc. or here’s so much as a small momentum to make you love us. If they can’t find something out about my order soon I am going to have to research elsewhere and find bridesmaids dresses too— what a nightmare. I mean I do understand it’s a business and you get a lot of demanding brides , I too am in the wedding industry planning and catering but goodness. They don’t give you the warm and fuzzy feeling a girls looking for. ☹️ Update: they contact me to update me on when my dress should be arriving.. via The Knot. So I got an email from the knot saying:you’ve got a new message—that I almost didn’t. I honestly used the knot mostly to find vendors and haven’t signed in since. While I am super grateful for them reaching out this again goes back to the personalized touch that is lost somewhere. A phone call would be nice from a warm voice on the other day. I mean I did leave my phone number when I paid for the dress. Hopefully when I go back in for my fittings things will have improved.

In addition, she and the team at Elegance by Roya created a custom veil for me, using parts of my mother's veil. They handled her veil very delicately and took it upon themselves to preserve it as best as possible. Searching for 'the dress' is easily one of the most stressful parts of wedding planning, but Farah and the team at Elegance by Roya put my mind to ease with their professionalism and dedication. Farah was an absolute delight to work with, and I would certainly recommend her to any bride in the Washington, DC area!
